I've noticed this with all the custom rom's i've tried, is this 'normal' for the diamond?
basically, what i'm talking about is within the phone dialer screen, above the number keypad is the list of recent calls + contacts and to the right is the scroll bar but that scroll bar is 2/3 cut off, making it useless.
is this normal? i tried searching to no avail.
ive been searchin for this for a few days aswell, when i came across ur post and realised that they were in fact just cut off.... i thought they were implemented like that! anywho, playin about with these values u can either remove it completely or get it back
Remove Vertical and Horizontal Scrollbars
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr = 0 (DWORD decimal)
For the vertical (right) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\ = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Slight graphical distortion at the edge of the screen, but they are gone
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After playin about with the values, ive come to the conclusion that for me, personally, setting the cxVScr value to 13 is the most efficent as it leaves the scrollbar for important apps like RegEdit where you will use the scrollbar at times, but does not display the scrollbar in the dialer leaving it looking clean
hope this helps man
well, i want the scroll bar to show but i'll play around with those values and see what it does. thanks!
ok, those registry settings just change the width of the scroll bars but doens't help the fundamental problem which is that the scroll bar is cut off no matter how wide it is.
i just realized though that i can use the smarttouch (rotating my finger over the circular button) to scroll through without trying to do it with that scroll bar, so hopefully this helps someone.

I have a Tilt running the official HTC WWE ROM.
I don't like how once you open the keyboard, you scroll the scrollwheel to the left to scroll downwards. I realize this is done because scrolling to the left is really 'down' when you hold the device upright, but somehow it just seems to me like scrolling to the right is the natural 'down' direction when the device is held sideways.
Is there any way to change the registry so that you can scroll right to go downwards? Keep in mind this must not affect way the scrollwheel scrolls when the keyboard is closed.
yo!
dunno what ive done but ive lost that little bar at the top of the start menu - you know, the one with just icons of recently opened programs anyone know how to get it back?
Maybe my eyes but I have never seen the old WM5 top bar on my WM6 TyTnII??
edit..
Actually its not only my eyes its my memory also. I think you have to go back to WinCE for them on a PPC. Unless you have a WM Smartphone then they are at the top!
the small horizontal row of icons right at the top of the start menu when you press the start button? im sure it was there earlier today!
They are the programs that have been set to always show in the start menu. They only appear as a horizontal list of icons when in landscape mode so that they all fit in. In landscape mode they appear in a vertical list with text labels like the rest of the items in the menu.
You can choose which icons appear by going to Start -> Settings -> Menus.
Those only show up in landscape mode. In portrait, the full list with titles is displayed.
ahaaaaa! loool me being an idiot then! lol cheers guys youre right!
With the Alex Game Rom, the htchome screen rotate button rotates clockwise to landscape, how do I make it rotate counterclockwise to landscape (the landscape direction when using the keyboard)?
thanks,
I was going to ask same question, actually.. anybody knows?
It'd be perfect if it'd switch Kaiser to landscape and back (toggle thing). it does so now, just landscape is rotating left instead of right.. any way to change that?
Don't use HTC Home, but this might work;
Start>Settings> System Tab then Screen and set Orientation to right-handed or left-handed which ever is what you want, then switch back to portrait. For "Most" apps that have a switch to landscape, they will switch to what you last set in this config screen as it seems to remember this preference.
Hopefully HTC's screen isn't hard coded elseware...
Nope unfortunatelly that doesn't fix it.
on some other forum there was a supposed registry fix. HKLM, system, gdi, rotation; landscape mode (change 4 to 1). But this doesnt seem to stick, and I dont know if it does what we are talking about anyway.
this is how i do it
go to settings, and remap the press to talk button in rotate screen. works flawless on my device. I use it for tomtom, first it also rotated the wrong direction. now it is fine.
Try this....

Try this:
Open your reg editor (I use Resco Registry Editor Mainly) and navigate to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC Scroll to the botton of the folder (so to speak) and at the bottom you will find a reg value called "SliderOutRotateAngle" it default value is (that is the correct angle for sliding the keyboard out. Just change this value for a different angle i.e. 90, 180 etc.. (PLEASE NOTE THIS REG KEY IS A DWORD KEY AND ENTER IN DEC FORM/This is just in case you delete it by acident)
As with most .reg changes, don't forget to soft-reset..
Hope this helps..

I just noticed that the Windows icon on the upper left of my screen which opens the start menu, is cut off. Only the left half is visible and it makes it more difficult to tap to open since the icon width is half the original size. Is there a way to fix this?? BTW I did a search and there was no info available on this...
try schaps advanced config,if problems still happens then try hard resetting, you might need a different rom

This was an Issue on Dutty's April 1 Hybrid ROM. Did you look in there for solutions? I don't think there was. Was a bug in the Rom.
Thanks for responding. I was finally able to figure this one out. I opened WkTask from preferences and there is a setting for horizontal offset. I just increased the value in the box and it fixed it in "real time" ie as I increased the number the open program field moved to the right, uncovering the Windows icon and giving me improved access to tapping it to open the start menu. All is well!
Hi,
Has anyone experienced this issue? Got a MDA C4 with manila installed. Along the right side of the screen (from top right corner to bottom right hand corner) i can see a faint shadow. After some testing it seems to be the previous menu underneath the current menu.
Example i'm on the home screen, goto messages and send a text using the qwerty keyboard. Back to the home screen, i can see a very faint image of the qwerty keyboard under the Programs hotkey.
When the PIN lock comes on the bottom right is "MENU", i can see a faint "programs" letters icon underneath it.
It happens more or less on every single screen i goto. Is there a fix or is my MDA faulty?
thanks.
I have noticed this also. Sometimes when I use the touchflo across the bottom say scrolling to into "albums" or "weather" then come out and go back to home, the background becomes white instead of the "Manila" Black. The scroll bar along the base of the screen disappears.
I'm not up on exactly how cab files work or sit on top of the base rom, but I presume there is a slight issue. I have found the only way to get it back to the "manila" theme is to soft reset it.
Only way round this is to flash it with a HTC rom, which I will do when I can get a copy of the shipped T-mo rom (to put back on in case of a warranty issue).
