I'm about to sell my s730, and want to have the original ROM installed instead of Alcalines build which I have now. Can I "upgrade" Alcalines build to the updated original ROM found on HTC's site? Can I roll back to the shipped ROM in any other way?

I flashed my MDA compact with Duttys release but was just wondering if I ever wanted to go back to how the phone orignally came with the T-Mobile firmware and all the software how would I go about doing it?

You can get a copy of the T-Mobile 1.37 based ROM that was re-packaged by TheLoanRanger from this thread at Modaco in case you ever need to flash back to the original rom.

Isn't this just a cooked rom? It also includes the older 1.13 radio :

Wiki reports the 1.57 rom haveing CE OS 5.2.20776 build 20776.1.4.9 and a 1.14 radio
Thus this new rom has a lower radio and a lower OS
Radio can always be individually upgraded or downgraded. ROM 1.59 has to be newer than ROM 1.57 if the former is not a faked or cooked ROM.

I'd dumped the same ROM version and posted it a few weeks ago, but didn't quite get the same reception as you:

But anyway, my file size is slightly different from yours (a few KBs), I wonder why?... have you tried flashing your device with the original ROM, does it work?
Can you compare the remaining the numbers, are they all the same?

original spl
hi i might need to reinstall the original rom on my phone for warranty purposes - so am grateful it is here - unfortunately i cannot remember what the original spl was having since installed a hspl to flash some cooked rom's - can anyone tell me what the original spl was with this so i can reinstall it.

I noted the original SPL as 1.14 on my stock orange. Just about to redo mine from a 1.56 HSPL version, as the screen has gone again! Grrr, hopefully works!

HSPL 1.14 is to be used for all roms based on pre 1.56
HSPL 1.56 is to be used on all roms based onm 1.56+
Hopefully this will stop future screen issues
Thanks wasn't the differing colour screens BTW, I meant the touch had stopped responding, had to downgrade before sending back to Orange. 2nd Touch HD that has broken on me with the same problem! And BTW I used the ROM on this thread and it was an orange 1.14.22273... Not 1.19?1! Got the new one, and going to make a backup of the ROM which IS a 1.19...
Hi All, I have had a search and can't find the answer to my question. I am about to flash my HTC Touch HD to Dutty's new 6.5 R8 ROM and I wanted to make sure I can go back to my default incase I either don't like it (which I doubt after reading everyones posts) or the phone has to go back for warrenty.
I have found some original ROM's on Dutty's site but the version numbers don't look like they match. mine are as follows
I am on Orange and in the UK
Operator Version: 34.119.1.611
ROM Version: 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM Date: 11/25/08
Radio Version: 1.09.25.14
Protocol Version: 52.49a.25.26U
The closest one I found on Dutty's site is BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.19.831.0_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14 or RUU_BlackStone_Orange_UK_1.14.405.3_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14
If I restored either of these would I still be ok on the warrenty front? or is there away that I can extract my currently installed ROM and then restore it if needed?
Any help would be greatly recieved.

Brilliant Thanks. There is a closer match there but still nothing with a complete match. If I send it back can they tell from the serial number what versions should be on there? or is there a particular version that is more important than the others? i.e. the ROM version?
there is a release of a newer rom than yours on the htc site
so i guess that if you had that rom installed and your hd needed to go back under warranty then you should be fine as it can be considered an official update by the manufacturer

As long as you have an official HTC upgrade rom on your device you will be fine for warranty
