After flashing radio, do i need to install ripphone.cab too? - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

After flashing radio, do i need to install ripphone.cab too? I read wiki and about 10 posts, but I'm still wondering.
1. Install rom (since Dutty released the 2.6 I have to make an upgrade)
2. Install radio
3. intall ripphone.cab with the same version as radio
Is this correct?
I'm planing on using 1.12.25.16 over 1.09.25.14.
Thanks

Installing the new rilphone is not mandatory, however it is recommendable.
Unfortunately the rilphone cab for the latest radio (1.13) seems not to be working .

But with the new rom 1.56 (including 1.13 radio) you do not need this rilphone.dll right? Isn't it possible to extract a working rilphone.dll from a new 1.56 ROM?

Quick question about flashing 1.56-based ROM

Hello,
I DID read Wiki and Tutorial about flashing 1.56 ROMs. But I STILL have questions.
What I have:
1. I have original and SIM-unlocked HTC HD with SPL 1.14
2. Never flashed anything on it
3. Never did HardSPL, USPL, etc
What I want:
4. Flash Dutty V3 XT Shipped Final ROM (based on 1.56)
5. Update Radio ROMs if needed
Since now we have HardSPL support for 1.56 roms (or we dont ? ) ...
6. Do I need to follow Dutty's instruction (with USPL, etc) ?
or
7. Can I just run HardSPL over my original 1.54 HD and then simply flash Dutty's V3 (1.56-based) ROM
or
8. I have to flash HTC's official 1.56 ROM and then run HardSPL and then Dutty's ROM ?
or
9. Something else ?
Thanks for response.
just run hardspl but make sure its the new 156 olinex
then ur ready to flash duttys v3
It worked for me that way. Thx
So ... no need to flash official HTC's 1.56 update ? Great ! Thanks

Quick SPL and Radio question

Wether or not I have a rooted G1, should I always try to have the latest radio and SPL, even if the ROM doesn't require it?

Click to collapse
If you don't have root you can't flash your ROM, radio or SPL. AFAIK There has only been the android 1.1 and 1.5 Radios, so they don't come along too often. If you're on a 1.1 ROM then you should be on the 1.1 radio, same with 1.5, you should be on the 1.5 Radio. SPL is your choice depending on what you want. I use Hayuro's because it supports all ROMs, but some prefer Hard SPL. If your ROM doesn't need a different SPL, wether you want to install it is your choice.

updating just the radio

Hi,
Is it possible to update just the radio on my diamond? I already have a new hardspl and dont want to have to flash all over again so i lose everything, as all i want to do is flash to a different radio version.
Is this possible?
Thanks gyro
not sure about diamond but a normal flash with just the radio.nbf file would do just that
All radio ROM's that I know of only contain the radio file, so flashing it will only upgrade (or change, because you can downgrade the radio as well) your radio and not your 'ROM'.

Need Radio TMOUS 3.45.25.14

Okay, so I think the official WWE ROMs include a Radio update within them, because all the sudden I have the latest HTC Radio. I was not planning on flashing my radio for warranty purposes, but now am stuck. Has anyone been able to extract the official TMOUS Radio (I believe it's 3.45.25.14) as a "just in case"?
There is a dedicated Radio thread for the Rhodium. Try THERE.

[Q] Forcing the update to use the radio and SPL in a ROM

Hello all,
On my HD2, I can flash a ROM from the SD card and it will flash the OS as well as overwrite HSPL and the radio too. This is much easier than figuring out which SPL/Radio came with a stock ROM. Is there an equivalent for the Diamond? Flashing from the Internal Storage doesn't overwrite HSPL and I'm not sure if the Radio has been updated either.
I'm trying to flash 1.93.401.2 WWE. What SPL and Radio versions come with this ROM?
Thanks
