Is there any "fun" bluetooth software outthere anymore. It always fun to be able to mess with your friends but I have not been able to find anything for a long time that will allow that happen. Any ideas?
Yes I too would like to use BT to listen in on conversations, DOH I mean have fun with friends.
Interesting... I Didn't even know there was such a thing...
either did I. Is there?
I have something called Smurf, it's a program for Bluejacking anything bluetooth aware. No idea where to get it as it was somewhere obscure and it crashes if I try to access the about screen (rest of it works quite well though).
Here looks favourite for a website, but I might be wrong -
http://www.gatefold.co.uk/smurf/
I have a cab for it called "SmurfSetup04", so it looks like it's that url...
Hope that helps.
This should be interesting if i can get it to work... lol oh well...

Blue Jacking
Ok, firstly its an offence in most counties as its considered hacking under most laws but for information purposes:
Bluetooth phones that were able to be bluejacked were only made about 4 years ago as all the bluetooth pairing stack has been hardened since then try to prevent this.
Im sure its proabably possible with the right kit, essentially using the original exploits you tricked the traget device into a situation where it thought that you were re-pairing a device and explioted this.
Anyway, probably the most fun thing you can still do over bluetooth is with a program called bluetooth sniper, this lets you send images and text to target phones whilst re-writing your bluetooth id. Its also possible to send messages to phones where the bluetooth is turned on but set to hidden mode.
It also has a war mode, you set a message, it scans for all phones, send the message to all local phones and then does it again and again and again.
Use with caution as you can expect other phone users get a bit pissed after the 10th or so bluetooth message
If your running linux and not a ppc theres a bit more things you can do like:
http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_carwhisperer.html
this is the sort of attack you talk about, however it relighs on the bluetooth's device to still have the default pass key, which many have.
http://www.secuobs.com/news/05022006-bluetooth10.shtml
this is a dos attack i belive for bluetooth
there is also
http://www.net-security.org/software.php?id=519
redfang which attempts to brueforce the passkey on the device, this is slightly diffirent from the original method used for btcrawler.
Anyway, like i said i wouldnt advise doing or using any of the above as its very very very naughty indeed !!
Great - thank you for the info. I will continue to do some more research and find out which one of these still works. I own a copy of the bluetooth sniper (yes, I bought it) and it never seems to work very good. The problem is you have to have the "passkey" to the other phone to be able to do anything.
Anyways - I'm not going to spend tons of time on it, as I just had some buddies I wanted to mess with. If anyone else has any other programs out there that does not require the remote users passkey I would love to hear what they are!
Tare Care....
Plazma remind me to never piss you off. Awsome info.

Don't confuse bluejacking with bluesnarfing.
Bluejacking is actually harmless (although possibly annoying) and involves sending a contact with a message to the bluetooth device concerned.
I haven't used Sniper, but Smurf didn't require a pass key and is free (forgot to mention that bit). Worked with a Sony Ericsson phone and a Nokia phone my friends had, their MacBook's and an Asus machine running Vista...

i tried to download sniper but it said it does not support my firmware or something like that, so i did some research and found it need one of the old .net frameworks. i found the download in the Sniper forums but you need to join to download it... but of course i tried to join (about 2 months ago) and i still have not gotten the 'moderator approval' so i cant download it and thus cant run sniper
Sniper wasn't any fun because to do anything at all, it always pops up the passkey screen on the remote users phone.....thus, your name (device owner name) would always display and make the remote user connect with you. I am anxious to try this smurf program; however, I can't seem to get it installed. All of the new custom ROM's do not appear to have SQL CE installed on them, which is requires - and I can't seem to find the proper cabs to install it on the tilt. If anyone has the proper cabs I need, please post them!

Indeed, bluejacking is often confused with bluesnarfing(which I have an app that will do bluesnarfing, bluebugging, and hellomoto attacks.) Believe me there are still PLENTY of phones and devices still susceptible to bluejacking, just not many still bugged for bluesnarfing or hellomoto attacks.
I've actually made REAL friends by bluejacking(bluejacked a nice lookin lady at the music store once as well as a bartender.)
If you're grey hatted.... check out bluezard... I believe it's www.wm-soft.com but it's not freeware(worth the money imo.) In addition to the attacks there is a built in console where you can attach to any of the remote services and send AT commands(such as dialing commands or sms commands) Doesn't do automatic scanning though, and that's a pain. A really nice bluejacker peice is mobiluck, it's actually geared more toward the exact social aspect of bluejacking that landed me my new friend. start mobiluck and leave it running in your pocket. The idea was that if you came within range of smoeone else running mobiluck you'd automatically exchange information. Didn't turn out that well because the author is very controlling and manually generates his keys and the process is a real pain in the ass.
btexplorer is another useful tool that can do snarfing but no bug or hellomoto, it's also not very intuitive, it's more of a semi consolar program.
Use these programs at your own risk. While bluejacking isn't technically illegal, bluesnarfing, bugging and hellomoto is. Not to mention that while bluejacking isn't illegal it can still get you an ass beatin' if your bluejack the wrong person and they see you sitting there in starbucks giggling.. So there is that risk as well.

Complaining is very easy, maybe look for a solution first before complaining ?
Searching 2 minutes in this forum will give you the solution.

When calendar reminders don't seem to work, having checked your settings, then the next thing to check is your notifications queue. I use Memmaid and this will check and clear any duplicate, out of date, or 'wrong' notifications.
Having done that, then soft reset and set a 'test' appointment with a reminder to see if it works.
If still not working, look more closely into the notifications queue. LEAVE ALONE the ones you don't understand, just look at the calendar ones and make sure that they all make sense. I once had a reminder for the year 2014! Delete any which you know for a fact you don't want. Maybe they belong to appointments in the past, or appointments you know you have deleted.
Soft rest, test again.
If still not working then use Memmaid's 'rebuild notifications queue'
Soft rest, test again.
Memmaid offers a free trial period.
Third party software can also upset your notifications, are you running anything which could interfere with notifications? Eg phone profile software, spb pocket plus, any alarm/clock software etc.
These are the first places to look.
Obviously, if you do a hard reset you will probably get them back, but try the other stuff first.

I'm also having the same problem. The reminders for my calendar appointments does not work. I tried to the rebuild notification queue function in Memmaid and soft reset the device but it still does not work.
Thanks for putting up your advice Marisa even though the first person who posted the problem was impolite.
I'm absolutely certain that I have set the notifcations for reminders to ring, vibrate and display a message on screen. Don't really want to hard reset my touch diamond yet since I've installed quite a number of applications and it be really troublesome to reinstall it again. So I'll be saving that option as a last resort.
I've also emailed HTC to see if they have a solution for this. Will let everyone know if there is.

I also emailed HTC about a problem with QuickGPS which I solved finally by hard resetting.
They still didn't answer. I hope you have better luck.
HTC Support are totally useless in my opinion.
Twice I have emailed them for advice, twice I have got an acknowledgement of the problem and the promise that someone would contact me. Twice nothing.
Don't waste your time.
yea, I also had a hunch that they might not be helpful. No harm giving it a try though. haha.
Oh hell, notification queue issues are a hangover from the early Universal/JasJar days. I thought is was pretty much fixed by the TyTn generation. Try reading very old forums on "notification queue" and "reminders failing".
Here's what I posted for the very buggy Universal some time back:
Notification Queue: This can be done later, but it's nice to get familiar with this process whilst your queue is small. Using PM, open the notification queue. You may already (yes!) find some duplicate (yellow icon) sddeamon entries. These seem to replicate during an activesync. You can/must delete all duplicates from time to time. You will also, in future, find some "\.\\Notification.....SCRIPT..." entries. Keep an eye out for these. Most mature within minutes of you finding them, so let them expire. Many are future-dated and tightly back-to-back. These can nearly always (I've never had a regret) be deleted without repercussions. If you don't manage these, they tend to breed, and anyone with XDA experience knows what happens when your queue fills up (failed alarms etc). I'm unclear as to where these come from - undoutedly an app that is not behaving elegantly (regular registration checks etc), and if you follow the steps on this post you should NOT find any - ie the apps here do not seem to be culprits. But, keep an eye open...

Also frpom Universal issues (so may nto all apply to DIamond):
You can delete CALENDAR and TASKS entries - they will re-add themselves. But rather not cos you have nothing to gain
\\.\Notification\.....SCRIPT... entries seem to cause problems. If they are due to activate soon, leave them alone. If they are due to go off in a few days, kill the little buggers. I think that many of them are registration checkers.
You WILL have duiplicate sddaemon entries with yellow icons. Kill them ALL and enjoy it!
You should find 1 of each of the follwoing:
- repllog
- \windows\calupd
- CALNOT
You will find 2 of each of the following:
- calnot
- clocknot
- repllog
ANything else is 'interesting'. Google it and kill it if it does not point to something u r happy with. I have never had one not sort itself out if it was required (eg weather updating - will come back when weather app next loads).

If someone steals my phone, the first thing he would do is to switch it off and exchange the sim card. So how should I send a SMS to the phone to wake up the program when my SIM-card with my phone number isn't in the phone anymore?
Such a Anti-Theft-Program need to send the location to a predefined Mail-Account when the SIM-Card has been changed. The program has to recognize that the SIM isn't the same and then start itself on Windows startup as soon as possible so that it cannot be closed before it can send the mail.
Anything else makes such a program useless in my opinion.

Notify on sim change... It's in the settings.
This means your phone with the new simcard will send a sms or email to a predefined number (not your own number but maybe your brothers phone or someone else you can trust) as soon as it detects a new sim inserted. voila and you have the thiefs phonenumber.
I have tested the feature and it works very well...

You do that. I think you'll like it.
I'm using MASPware GuardMobile, works fine and a lot of options. Smart proctect seems very good to me too, and it's free. Maybe I'll give it a try after a hard reset
i am searching a antitheft program, that is invisible implemented/implementable
into the ROM (completely configured).
for hardreset resistance. a spezial version of hardspl could be a good way.
so the theft protection is resistand for firmwareupdates by the theft.
hardspl once installed, could give out a unique secret key.
without this key no hardspl remove/update is possible. and the protection is not easy removable.hardspl handles all flash requests and without key....
only with commands to read/write directly to FLASH, the last chance to remove it.
and thats not easy for NOOB´s

1. you must have a working email account installed into the xperia.
This account (marked with a red box) will be used for sending the stealth-mail to your destination account.
2. The destination account should not be installed on the phone as the thief would also get the stealth-mail.
3. Setup your options in the settings view (see attached pictures)
4. press Send now in the menu if you want to tryout your settings.
It's recommended to have satellite sync while testing this.
5. Save changes and exit the application.
I'm having some trouble with smartphone tracker on my X1. When I send an sms containing my passphrase the X1 phone displays the text as a new unread message. Also the phone doesn't send any mail to my configured receiver. And yes, I've chosen a working mail account, it works when pressing "send now..." from within smartphone tracker.
Also the incoming text message displays as a new unread message, it's not suppose to do that right?
I get the feeling that Smartphone tracker doesn't catch incoming text messages. What's your experiences?

Hey guys, I have the official ROM from HTC for my Fuze, and I'm scared to flash a new rom cause I'm afraid I'll brick my phone.
That being said, my question is this: With the rom update, I can no longer send texts to more than one person at a time. I'm wondering if there's a program I can install (that doesn't require a register edit cause I'm scared to mess something up there too) that can allow me to send group messages again.
Thanks for any help.
have you tried "SMSer 1.0"? you can get it at 1800pocketpc or google search it. i haven't tried it but it should work and should be free
I use a bit of freeware called Moblmsg. it allows you to create groups and send texts to groups. Think i got it from freeware pocketpc site.
the only downside is that the 'sent' texts dont appear in your 'sent folder (but can be viewed through the Moblmsg 'log' button).
Easy to use. its not perfect but ive not found anything better
oh ... and by the way .... the first flash is scary but after youve done it once you'll be hooked

A challenge !!!!
Does anyone know of an app which is a 1-click call divert app. I was using one called 'EasyForward' but this no longer works, and has been withdrawn from the market.... can anyone help... PLEASE !! this is an everyday use app.....
Thanks
Ian
PS: The app enables the phone to direct all incoming calls to a user defined number....
what no one ???? no one knows of a way to do this ????
Well, I could code one, but it will take some time. Meanwhile, if you're using Sense, you can set send calls directly to voice mail through the People app. Just edit your contact and check the "Send call directly to voice mail" option.
Could you code one ?? I would gladly PayPal you a few quid for your troubles, this would be of such use to me,, Basically I have 2 mobiles, one I use for work, and one for home. I want to be able just to click divert or cancel when i go to work, or come home, as I dont want to have to tell everyone 2 numbers. Also my HERO is too good a phone to risk getting damaged at work,,,,,,
Hey Ian, I'm a little busy but it's not that hard to code, just that I'm not too sure if it'd work on a 2.1 phone. I'm still a novice at Android coding, so give me a couple of days since I still have a Android assignment to complete for school. Meanwhile, since you're on sense, just go to Settings > Call settings > Call forwarding > Always forward. Give me a couple more days and I'll get you your app.
Thanks mate, but the pic is a bit out of date. I am using (and will continue to use) EzHero 1.0 / 2.1 -update 1 as it is, for me, the bees knees and does everything I want. fast, smooth and stable. If you could create one to work on this, I would be forever in your debt....
Cant wait....... YOU LIFE SAVER !!!
Ian
Alright no problem, I know a universal way already. I shall start working on it now, a couple of hours should suffice.
You could always go onto the market and get "Easy call forwarding" free...
Once set up with number you want to divert to, it is one touch only enable and disable.
Use it all the time when switching between phones.
Cheers Phil-w

Hey Ian, I've completed the prototype, I'll be publishing it to the Market in a short while. I'm still trying to make it save the number you want so you won't have to re-enter it again. I'm trying to recode what Easy Call Forwarding had from scratch, so give me some time before it's as good.
mate, thats great.. what have you called it so I know what to look for ?
Hey Ian, sorry for the late reply. It's called Quick Forward.

Alright Ian, let's talk on IM, it's faster. PMed you my MSN.
You could always create couple of contacts in your contacts list.
1 for divert cancel containing ##21#
1 for divert containing **21*07966666666# (put your mobile in here !)
Then just use +, shortcut, Person, then select the person i.e Divert or divert cancel.. (or what ever you have saved them as) and place on one of the panels home or where ever you fancy.
Works great on the UK Orange network..
