Is it just me or has the WakeMe Alarm clock app disappeared from the Market? I loved that app and now after wiping a hundred times playing with the Haykuro builds I don't have it anymore. Does anyone know anything about this or (better yet) have the apk?
Thanks!
Some people were complaining that it didn't fire.
So i removed it for now since i don't got time to investigate this and for me it fired every single day.
Send me your email and i'll send you the apk
great, thanks!
My favorite alarm app by far.
thanks
i hope it will be fully reliable some day
mail me please if any of your alarms get dropped

Hi,
My phone died and I had to buy another one. The alarm was the one most important application and I used it everyday and it has never failed me. Could you please email it to me too?
Thanks!
there u go: http://hotfile.com/dl/2596651/6ff7c3b/WakeMe_Alarm_Clock.apk.html
Thanks so much. I hope you bring it back to the market. This application is amazing!

i'm finished with my new game now
(http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.mibollma.zilch)
so i think i'll give the alarm another try the next few days
WakeMe Alarm... we hardly knew ye...
I was delighted to see it back on the market with an update for a little while and now it's gone again. Can you please put the latest version up for download on the Google Code page? I'm fine with a "this is broken, use at your own risk" or whatever kind of disclaimer, because I generally had great luck with it and LOVE the functionality.
Thanks!
could u email me too please
I would love to use this app.
[email protected]
Thanks David

thank you thank you
eidt: i searched google and couldnt really find a definitive answer.
remove world clock or desk clock and maintain alarm?
alright, after a few more seconds of research, i believe it should stay.
next question, i dont use the desk clock but sometimes i use my phone to set an alarm.
can i remove the world clock and maintain the desk clock and alarm? or can i remove the world clock and still have the desk clock and alarm functionality?
im just removing things... thank you thank you
edit: also gtalkservice. safe to remove? im figuring not.

Only way to know is to try, right? Nandroid first, of course. I think all the clocks are inter-related somehow on a Sense ROM, so my guess is that removing any one of the clock or alarm apk's will kinda break them all. But I've never actually tried it myself to know for 100% sure.
EDIT: I think you CAN safely remove the HTC clock widget, but why would you want to? I assume most people use the clock in its widget form on a home screen.

Many times when you try to remove Google things from your phone (ones that were already included with a ROM like gtalk), your access/login to the Market can break. Not always, but it does happen enough that most people typically don't mess with the included Google stuff.

i left the gtalkservice. i deleted google talk, nothing seemed to be affected. i dont use any widgets, i deleted those on day one. maybe ill try deleting the clock...
thanks
I deleted my WorldClock.apk no problem. I actually prefer the AOSP eclair clock and alarm clock better. Also yes, you can delete google talk, just don't delete the service. If you delete the service, it will break your Android market

hello.
do yall think itd be safe to remove the standard(stock) Internet app that comes with the phone? I use opera mini atm and soon ill be using fennec. could there be any adverse affects? the only thing i could see changing would be that the phone wouldnt question me as to which browser to use...(i dont like setting defaults. prefer one app to do a job)
thank you thank you
edit: removed... with no issues(so far)
It looks like a security researcher found out the use for this app.
Try searching this in Google: "Carrier IQ: Researcher Trevor Eckhart Outs Creepy, Hidden App Installed On Smartphones"
Essentially, it records every website you view, and every key you press on your Android phone. Even if you are on SSL, on WiFi.
After i updated to Froyo from Eclair, i cant just set one alarm. I have to set one for each day, or the whole week etc. In Eclair, i could just set the alarm for 07:30, and it would ring 07:30 the next day. But if i set it for 07:30 now, i waits until the current day, and the alarm go`s off after one week. I overslept the first time i used this new ****ty alarm clock.
Sure, i can set the alarm for each day, but then i have to turn it off after the alarm go`s off, or it will go off the next moring.
This is of course not a very big issue, but its very anoying for me. I want to just set the alarm to a certain time, and not have to worry about wich day the alarm is set to go off. (Like the Eclair alarmclock did)
Is there any way to install the eclair alarm clock on froyo perhaps?
Its the same as Eclair for me !!!
Same here, the only thing that changed is the way you stop it

I just hit the "alarm repeat" button when setting the alarm and choose weekdays, i have noticed it no longer selects the next day as default, it now selects the current day, e.g if i set one now for 7:00am and didn't touch the day it would go off a week today at 7am, you need to select "alarm repeat" then scroll to the bottom, and you will see the days of the week in letters, unselect the current day and select tomorrow. Hope this makes sense

Yes indeed. It makes sense, its just abit more work than on the Eclair alarm clock, wich would go off the next day by default, and without any hassle
Ill leave this subject for now, but i still find it very annoying compared to Eclair alarm clock
Thanks for the replies.
I too experience the same issue. Also have to deselect the previous selection and select new day every time editing the set alarm.
Was Eclair Alarm easy?
Is there a fix to this?
This is my pet hate for Froyo
If I'm correct then most custom roms fixed this issue,
but does anyone know a way to install Eclair alarm clock without installing a whole rom?
I start using alarm klock a free app so now have no problems.
Yes it's a possibility, I know.
But does anyone know the answer for the original question:
Is it possible to install the old or a new fixed version of the alarm clock without flashing a custom rom?

You would remove the APK and install the Eclair APK possibly also the Odex as well .
But thats a question and belongs in Q&A section and may well get an answer as a new topic .
My method would involve reflashed custom rom with the files replaced at root and rezipped and resigned .

This is a solution posted in a Swedish forum.
http://www.swedroid.se/forum/showthread.php?t=30510
I'll try to translate:
1. Download attachment
2. Remove ClockPackage.apk and ClockPackage.odex which are loacated in system/app.
3. Put the file you downloaded in system/app.
Noone in the thread seems to have had any problems with the solution above.
I have not tried it and will of course take no responsibility if anything goes wrong...
Z4 mobile is an app that is designed for deaf/hard of hearing and allows them to use their pc/android phone as a videophone for ASL communication/interpreter services.
I am a deaf educator and would love to have this available to me. I'm new to both android and the gtablet (tntlite 2.4, thanks XDA developers). I've used the Z4 software on my PC numerous times. The app info says compatible with EPIC and TAB. I put it on my fascinate and it does work, but of course, it only has a camera on back, which makes it pretty much unusable.
I've got the app on my gtab, but when I open it, it closes almost immediately. No FC dialog box or anything...
Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
SamG
I'll download & try it tonight on my Vegan Mod. My sister-in-law is deaf & my CODA wife would love to have this capability.
---
Tired it tonight & it starts but immediately closes.
Thanks!
In order to test/use the product, you'll probably have to set up an account with ZVRS. That means completing a short qualifications application. Within that document, you must answer yes/no to being deaf/hard of hearing or having someone that is deaf/hard of hearing in the household.
They'll send you an email with a 10 digit phone number for use with ZVRS

Thanks, exactly what it does on TnTlite.
Posted this on another forum and everybody started crying about it being in the wrong section rather than helping...rude.
What's with the running service, ' alarm service' for the market? Its always running and I want it gone.
Seems to have popped with the new market...
Thank you thank you

I think this might be what you are lookig for:http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/AlarmManager.html
SPECULATION on my part but from what I read looks like that is what it is.
I've checked my services periodically to see if this would ever popup for me, but it never did. :/
I'd say try uninstalling the updated market and wiping the cache/data for it via the applications menu under settings - same menu you went to to take that snap shot.
Well what's the disadvantage? Do you actually notice slowdown, battery draining, etc due to it? If not, why bother about it?

Forget it exists and do not worry about it.
I have noticed that lately my calendar reminder do not always work as expected after upgrading to ICS on vivid.
Most of the times when it doesn't work is when I set a reminder event, reboot the boot. Once the phone is up, it doesn't show any reminders for the event that was set before the reboot. Has anyone else noticed the same ? Any ideas, solutions ?
Am I the only one seeing this issue, everyone else calendar event are being reminded correctly, even after the restart of the phone ? Any feedback yes or no would be great guys. I am sure most of you who own a vivid have updated to ICS, so there should be some feedback at least

This has been noted b4 and from the few devs and more experienced members have said that its a bug within ics ....iv heard that u can use a third party app to get reminders but I don't personally use that feature so I'm no good on that aspect ...but I thought I would let u know what iv read
Thanks, for the reply. Hope Google comes out with a fix soon.
