White and more accurate battery indicator

In Windows Mobile 5 since AKU 2.0 and Windows Mobile 6 (Professional/Classic) the battery icon (or the clock) in the title bar on the today screen can be replaced. The default battery shows five different states and was sometimes colored green by some operators. My versions will show ten different charge levels and come in two styles: bars and solid.

The wm65*.cab files are for Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional/Classic only. They do not work on earlier versions or WM Standard.
Get them from this post: WM6.5 VGA & WM6 VGA Icons
Soft-reset after installation.

Example and charge levels
Please note, that the same DLL which holds the battery icons also holds the icons for the speed dial and call history lists in the phone application. To get an idea what the different CABs will change, refer to these two tables:

The attached CAB files will replace the file that holds the icons. You have to decide which style you like more (bars or solid) and pick the file that fits the resolution of your device (QVGA 240x320 or VGA 480x640). All CABs work on WM6 but do not install the wm6*.cab files on WM5! The wm6bat_*_vga.cab files are in post #29. Soft-reset after installation.

I do not think that this is possible. WM will only display either the battery icon OR the clock at that position. (Can be set via registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock -- as you probably know.)
However, you could set WM to show the battery icon and use a third-party tool to display time and date somewhere else on the top bar. I do not use these tools but I have seen them here and on PPC freeware sites. Should not be hard to find.

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/SHELL (highlight SHELL). Create a new binary value. Value: TBOpt
Data: 13 00 00 00
Click OK, wait, soft re-set. When device comes back on, the date and time will be displayed in the taskbar.

Yes, that is quite correct. The PIN input pad can be changed by putting bitmaps into the same file where I modified the battery indicator. In my version I left these bitmaps out and Windows will just use the default images in the \Windows directory.
From a quick look these might be the files:
Portrait mode - dialpad_port.gif (background), dlrbtn*_port.gif (buttons)
Landscape mode - dialpad_land.gif (background), dlrbtn*_land.gif (buttons)
I thought it would not matter that much because: How often do people see that PIN pad? Okay, I must admit: If you restart your device or turn off the phone often – then you will see it often.
I might create a new version next month to replace the WM5 speed dial and call history icons with WM6 icons.
What you can do, if you want:
Uninstall the battery modification and restart the device so you have the PIN pad of your ROM back. Then post the file \Windows\phcanOverbmp.dll from your device in this thread along with information about the device and ROM:
- Operator who released the device (e. g. T-Mobile) and
- Retail device name (e. g. MDA Compact III)
- ROM (e. g. cooked PDAVIET or original T-Mobile)
If I like the branding, I will probably create a special branded version, too.

I attached the phcanOverbmp.dll and it's the standard Touch PIN input screen as found in lot's of Touch styled roms and phone dialers. But since you asked it came from a T-Mobile MDA Compact III with Meschle's Touch 2.0 ROM for Artemis (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329453)

Just wanted to make sure that it is the right version of the file.

I'm not sure if it applies here, but I've had almost any other battery meter cause extra drain on my battery just because it's more detailed and/or polls the battery more often. Maybe something to watch for while testing. HTH

In short, yes! I'm running WM5 AKU3.3 in my Trinity and this works without a problem.
I liked the battery indicator that comes with QuickMenu as it also has % showing, but as mentioned earlier you have to have either the battery or clock showing and I prefer a large clock on my today screen.
Will report back if I have any excessive battery drain issues though.

I've finally came up with a piece of software that will enable you to view up to 6 calendar events on one page. This software was done to counter the lack of calendar events shown on the first page of TouchFlo3D.

As for the problems stated above, I need you guys to evaluate for me. There were some full-day appointments that the app missed. These are really old recurring ones. When I create a new similar appointment, it works. I have no idea about this behavior, but I'm trying to find out.
As for the 2MB memory usage in the background, I'll need an expert on this. Don't know how to reduce this. It doesn't bother me though.

Here's a screenshot:
The design has been matched to the Diamond's and is specifically coded for VGA devices only. It's been tested on the Diamond, of course
The Exit button does not close the app, but it minimises it. It's recommended to leave the software running in the background, so as to have quick access the next time you invoke it. The page will refresh each time you view it, so you're assured of latest appointments upfront.
Like I mentioned above, this app takes quite a while to load (abt 5secs++) if run fresh. It's my first PPC coding attempt, so perhaps it's not optimised yet
You can download the app below. Simple installation instructions are included. You'll need .Net CF. Tested on v3.5.
Lastly, it's a freeware ..and do post your comments.

I already have a matching Exit button, but the problem is, I can't get the rollOver effects done. The image does not change. (I have both ON/Off images), so after quite a while of trying, I decided to release it as such and work on it later on.

My goal is to make the app fade/scroll in like HTC's SIP selector... but that's kinda far-fech for a newbie PPC programmer like me. I'll pursue for answers in time to come.
Task lists? I might be able to get those on on another tab or something. I seldom use the task feature, so left that out for now.
TF3D seems to be 1 whole complete application with no external access for now. I wish it could be incorporated into TF3D
Experts, if U guys can help me out in the requests, it'll be good. Also, I wanna know how to optimize the code.

instead of that huge exit button (which makes you think your TD will explode when it's pressed), why not putting "exit" on the right side of "about" ?

Could you help me identify what causes this? I've tried multiple all-day events, and they all seem to show with the start time of 12AM.

That's a great app, I don't get why there's no native way to see upcoming appointements in wm6 calendar, except by using normal today screen

It's called WkTask. Great task manager.
You can view your calendar items on your default calendar, but there's no quick view to tell you what are your next x appointments.

Erm, I wouldn't advice replacing the WM6 calendar with this app. This app is just a viewer, nothing else. The WM6 calendar is the real thing which allow you to add/edit/del appointments.
If youre talking about changing the Calendar link on the TF3D screen to this app, I'm not sure how yet.

The more bitmaps you use, the more memory your app uses...
Don't worry. You have to make a choice.

(WAD2 THEME) Zimaia6 Reborn (23-12-08)

Hi Guys
Version 6.1 (QVGA, Portrait, Landscape) final because my mind is already in other project (!!!ADITION!!!)
In order to help navigation in this theme i mention next the gestures and softkeys present in each page. Don't forget to not be in author mode.
HOME PAGE:
- Slide down = open notifiers dock
- Slide Up = close notifiers dock
- Slide right = Enter landscape
- Left Softkey = Enter favorites contacts (In my case Adress bock) but you have the icons and page to build contacts page
- right SoftKey = Power off
At the top of the page there are 2 places that have icons in the same position because only one of then can be at the same time.
-topleft next to batt you have bluetooth and HeadSet (if you have bluetooth on and connects your headset then the icon changes from bluetooth to headset)
-top right before volume you have activesync or gprs in the same position shoes one or the other depending on the connection
APPLICATIONS PAGE
- switch between Favorites and Favorites2 with the softkeys
WEATHER PAGE
- Click on today weather icon to enter in 6 days weather, to return just click on weather tabicon
PHONE PAGE
- The Phone icon are configured to toggle using external app and the icons change from on to off using notifiers icons watching registry change
- The Data icon when are off if you click begins gprs connections using "vjvolubilis". The icon can be in 3 modes (NoData, gprs on, activesync on)
this changes are notifiers icons watching registry

You already have the png files to build that pages
You just need to create new pages, use the wallpaper provide in the extra icons folder and then in the tabbar settings add that pages.
About the landscape i'm working on it

This theme works great on my old wizard. Thanks, do you have a tab icon for internet? I use a page for skyfire, PIE, WVD, command manager, and Kinoma. On this page I have my bluetooth connection and wifi connection status. I was hoping you may already have this in your personal inventory. If not thanks anyway your theme is smooth, fast and beautiful not to mention easy to use and customize. Chris did a great job on this release of WAD and you have made it slick!

That is exactly what I needed! Thanks so much for the quick reply. Great theme, thank you so much Zimaia. I have a problem with the slider position not going all the way down on the screen. I know you said to use the desktop exe that you provided but when I replaced the file and opened it i got "The file 'Desktopapp' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components can not be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file." I have tried many times yet no success.

What do you mean by messaging notification? There are already icons for text messages (sms), multimedia messages (mms) and e-mails (icons 2, 3 and 4 on my screenshot). Still can't get this envelope in a baloon thing...
I'll work on messenger and flexmail icons then. And I think I'll redesign the mms one. This is the first one I came up with but don't think it's that indicative.

I have some issues with this theme.....Please don't take it personally i am telling what i experienced.
1.Numbers are not aligned on white box on wallpaper.
2.Its will not work exactly as the screen shot.
3.In charging mode clock doesn't appear.
I have copied and replaced the "gfx" file in S2U2 Folder under program mes. is this procedure is correct....

Hey there,
Since you obviously see the wallpaper with the flip clock it seems you have copied it right.
1. I guess your time format is set to H:mm without the leading zero - 8:22 instead of 08:22. Use your favorite registry editor and change the key HKCU\Software\A_C\S2U2\TimeFormat key to HH':'mm. This should make sure the time is always four digits and therefore always aligned to the wallpaper. I'll make sure to add a .reg file with all the necessary changes soon.
2. What other differences do you find from the screenshot? If you can provide a screenshot of your device it'll be great.
3. This is my mistake. I never use fullscreen battery hence never worked on that. Note taken.

I can extend the flip clock to fit the am/pm but still you have to set time with leading zero to have the same number of digits all the time eg. 05:00PM.

Current hardcoded layout of S2U2 doesn't allow me to make the flip clock work with fullscreen battery. Hope not a lot of you use it anyway...
Start working on some left over notification icons and am/pm flip clock.

I've changed the MMS icon (icon #4) to baloon with a paper clip similar to how it's shown in TF3D.
Then I created one for Flexmail (icon #6) and used one from Manila for Messenger (icon #7).
Hope you like them. If you do download the attached file and unzip to gfx folder, overwriting the old notice.png.
Still can't figure out what's the second icon for though..

The 2nd icon is for Pocket Informant, not sure about the 1st one. It looks like an email icon, but I'm sure it cant be that easy.

I played around with the flip clock trying to make it work with am/pm time and tried to get it as close as possible to TF3D (screen #1) but it's not that simple. There's no way to get the am/pm symbols closer to the digits. Extending the flip itself is pretty ugly for me (screen #2) so I came up with something like this (screen #3).
If you like it I can export wallpaper fitting the time this way. If you have any other ideas you're more than welcome.

Can I just have this in 12hour format without the AM/PM. Cause really. I don't need to know if it's night or day lol. I can notice that by just looking around.

Dude this is great work, I'm gonna try this out soon, first I need to update my S2U2 because I noticed that its not quite the newest version, another question also does this extra nice looking stuff take any kind of battery toll?

Install icon changer and put icon folder on stoarge card. Open icon changer program and long press on an icon and select change icon. Navigate to icon folder and tap on new icon to replace it. Repeat process for each icon. Press menu to soft reset after you're done. Unless someone knows a quicker way, that's it.

I have edit the dinik's icons (after his perimition) to mach the new GTX hysteria theme for my personal use.

More Icons!!!
I also really like DINIKs icons but I have many applications that do not have icons of him. I decided then to make them!
Are far from being perfect as the DINIKs icons!
I have no experience in image editing, all I did was extract the original icons and add them to DINIKs templates (with permission). Some icons have been extracted in the format 32x32 pixels and I had to resize it may not look good in big resolutions. Some icons I made from scratch!
In my phone (Kaiser) I use the List View Start Menu wich let my icons smaller and are not doing difference if is 96x96 or 48x48, at least I have not noticed any visual difference. Then I reduce all my icons to 48x48 pixels, as I have many applications installed and even 96x96 pixels they use too much memory, reducing them I had a gain of 20% of memory.

They are just .png images files, if you know how to change the icons on your phone I think it should work.
