When I click on the icon for Opera 9.51 beta in the programs menu, it opens the pre-installed version of Opera 9.5
even after a reset, it still does this.
Is there any reason for this? is there any way to replace or delete the older version of Opera?
I searched the forums for a solution and have come up empty. and it seems anything I did on my own resulted in having to hard reset because the device stopped working properly.
thanks for any help on the issue.
FYI- I am using the stock AT&T Rom and downloaded the Opera beta from Opera's web site.

thank you
It runs fine on HTC TyTN II, without adding any additional java middlet.
What device/OS do you have ?
im using wm6.1 htc official rom om my tytn 2
Try getting the Esmertec java somewhere in this forum.
Search for it and definitely you can find it.
Install it into your device memory then reinstall your Opera Mini.
Goto "mini.opera.com" using PIE then download the app. Use the ''signed" version so that it won't ask you everytime you start to browse.
PIE will automatically invoke esmecter java and you should know what to do from there onwards.
Good Luck.

Hi all,
I've got a problem, I have installed a demo version of a language learn app which is on a flash basis, at least it says on the homepage that the Flash player 6 or 7 is required.
Now my problem is that when I open the app (an .exe file) it appears to be too big for the diamond screen, there is now way one can zoom out or do any fit to screen settings, I have tried every setting the flash player offers.
I have read the flash wiki and spent about 2 hours googling and searching the forum, usually this solved all my problems but I just dont seem to find any solution for this specific problem.
I have no idea if this is flash / Diamond or software related. Would one of you please have a look at the app and check if he/she has the same problem?
The homepage is: http://pda.hantrainerpro.com/normal_index.htm and I have downloaded the file for wm5 devices.
I have tried FP6, then FP7 after uninstalling FP6 before installing, installing FP7 before uninstalling FP6 (as described on the page above) and FP7 plus smartFlash but nothing helped.
I use a stock German ROM 1.37 and have not "installed" and Hard SPL version.
Thanks for your comments!
bump
sorry to bump this, but this evolved to a major problem and I cant find a solution...
BTW, can anyone open .swf files?
when trying with opera mobile it always asks if I want to download that .swf file but I belive it should rather start running, right?
Thanks in advance for any comment!
Hi,
Is it possible to update the Opera browser if it is cooked in the ROM?
I cant find it in the remove program menu.
Thanks.
It should be enough just to install the latest version.
However, in case you make a hard reset, you will have to reinstall OPERA again.
So I thought this cab gave us the ability to view pages with flash? I went to my friends site that has a small section with flash and it has the "download flash" icon. What am I missing? I have flash lite 3.1 installed. I tried Opera and IE, neither worked.
Did you install FlashLite in the same area as Opera, either storagecard or mail memmory? As far as I know this is required for Opera, flash does not work on IE.
Furthermore, I upgrade Opera to build 2745 and use flashlite: not al flash contend is displayed, might be a flash version issue.
installed both to main memory
I download the updater application - _ATT Tilt_RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.88.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe - from HTC's site, but when I double click on it, it immediately says "kaiser has encountered a problem and needs to close" . I got it to start ok in safe mode, but then ActiveSync doesn't work correctly so still I can't do the upgrade.
It does this regardless of whether the phone is connected or not.
Phone:
HTC 8925
WM 6 Professional
ActiveSync 4.5
HardSpl 3.29 installed.
Computer:
Windows XP SP3
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
you could try
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserSDFlash
activesync is not needed at all
Got It
I did some more googling, and someone had the same problem which turned out to be the browser that they used to download the update files. I was skeptical, but they had downloaded it twice with firefox, and then downloaded it with Internet Explorer. They said it then worked, so I followed suite, downloading the WM 6.1 update with IE 8 instead of Firefox 3.5.
Guess what? It worked perfectly!
Funny thing is that now that I have the stock 6.1, I am looking at the custom 6.1 ROMS. I have a WM 6.5 ROM on my other Tilt, but it doesn't have good support for landscape mode, so I think I'll still with 6.1 since it does support it.
