Pixelated Text

Hello.
I noticed pixalated text in certain menus the other day (pics below). all other text looks good. The time when i noticed it happen was when i installed quick menu, didnt like it and then got rid of it. After that i noticed the pixelation. I did a restore to a previous state (sprite backup) and it did not fix the issue.
Is anyone able to clue me in on what might be happening?
Help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

OK, u cant delete them because the font is in use. But these fonts can be the problem. Unfortunately I dont know how to delete it or if it will work if u will delete them. Maybe u can add some font there, but I doubt it will work. U know, when flash a new rom, in windows/font there are no files. Maybe some program add these fonts there, and this is causing the problems.
Thanks for your help. You were definately on the right path. All i did was rename the files and then delete them, soft reset, and now..... ALL IS OK.
Thankyou for your help!!!

CAB for conserving more memory

Alright, got a cab file for it made and working.
Basically this is what it does:
All messages, including email and text messages are stored under main memory. If you use a lot of email or texts, or send and receieve a lot of attachments, it's going to build up and your phone memory and performance will suffer.
So what this registry tweak does is simply move the storage space of messages/attachments to your internal storage, saving you precious RAM.
Exact Registry Tweaks for those who like to do it themselves:
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
add "PropertyPath" with the string of "\Internal Storage\Messaging"
add "AttachPath" with the string of "\Internal Storage\Messaging\Attachments"
Saves a lot of space.
Make sure to soft reset after installing the cab
This tweak should move all messages over to the new internal storage folder, if not just select all files under Windows/Messaging and move them to there, else delete them.
dont like to go in regedit, can you post reg file or cab to do this?is this possible?

I'll see what I can do, give me a moment.
I've got to leave the house for a few hours, I'll be back soon and post up a CAB on my return.
Sorry for the holdup.
thx mate!good job
CAB added and tested, works 100% for me.
thx for this i appreciate
French version
But for a french version can i use you're cab or i must replace internale storage by "stockage interne" and do the registry tweak my self ??

Sorry, you're correct. This CAB will not work on any language diamond other than english.
So yes, you could just replace my strings with something like
\Stockage Interne\Anything
\Stockage Interne\Anything\Attach
How about Touch Pro/Fuze?
Hi,
Thanks for hhis tweak. After the cab installation and restart, the registers and news folders at internal storage are created.
But somehow, as you already mentioned, it did not move any messages over to the new internal storage folder. But I moved them and delete the orjinals . Then I send and receive same new e-mails for test. Very thing seems to be working without any prb.
Many Thanks again
As far as I'm aware, this CAB should have no problems running on Touch Pro, albeit it has more memory to begin, but who doesn't love to save memory?
And I'm glad I could help, first CAB i've made.
intx sorry bud i cant create cab file, can you made one for dutch rom please with in place of internal storage, intern geheugen?

Check your /Windows/Intern Geheugen folder for your messages, chances are they are still in the original messaging folder.
Either select the folder and delete it, or move all the files in there to the Internal Storage folder.

chkdsk on Android?

Bad day today. Why? Because this morning I decided to try out one of the Eclair roms before leaving for work. I flashed it, tried it and then looked at the time. After noticing that I had only 15 minutes before having to be at work I decided that it was time to lock up my computer and take off... but first... I need to restore back to a stable rom. So I restarted my phone and using switchrom I recieved an error of some kind. Not a big deal because anytime I flash a new rom I do a switchrom -s, bart backup AND nandroid+ext backup. Then everyday I use a bat script to automatically mount my sdcard and back it up to my pc just in case I need to format my card and restore everything later. Which brings me to the point of this thread. I was able to restore CM-4.2.8.1 but it was booting VERY slowly (about 15 minutes) and I noticed that it still said "Checking for errors" in the status bar. I left my phone on the charger and checked it later and it said that my sdcard was damaged. I have absolutely NO computer access and my phone is running WAAAYYYY to sluggish to use. So I just turned it off and put my sim in my old Tilt phone and used that for the day.
So... throughout the ENTIRE day I was going through Android withdrawls. I needed my G1. It was killing me.
So my question/idea is, is there a way to do a chkdsk on the fat partition of from the recovery menu or from terminal? I did a little searching and came up with something called dosfsck. And I looked in the /system/bin/ directory and saw something called fsck_msdos. Can we use this to repair the errors that the system finds on the sdcard? If the OS can scan and detect errors, then why can't we have an option to fix them? Instead of having to use a computer at home or the office.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

The thing is that is part of the windows OS, i know cause i use it to check for errors on my HDD or SD cards time-time. Im not sure if linux or distro or whatever its called has that feature avail.
Oh and i had that prob before where it was devastatingly sluggish.

Uhhhh... is that a paraphrased version of what I said in the quote? LOL.
Here... I found this: http://linux.die.net/man/8/fsck.vfat
I don't see why it can't be implimented somehow into a recovery.img to avoid future problems. It'll basically be like e2fsck but for fat.

Maybe you should check that up with Amon_RA?
I usually use my SD reader to check for errors before i flash a rom.

Copy the files to your pc, then erase the partition via console. Then do the error check again. I think its having trouble since you have a lot of files on your sd that must be zip or maybe you have a .img

I think it was Vista. I never should have used the error check option in the disk properties menu. I just tried it again using dos (chkdsk f: /R) so it actually tells me what it's doing. The error checking tool in vista is just like the defrag tool. You have absolutely no idea what's going on or how much longer it's going to take. Sucks.

I upgraded to 7
But i did like vista because of the HW support and eye-candy. I do wonder what its checking while it does that though.

[Q] my SD card became write protected?!

First I tried to delete some files, but it kept saying "Permission denied". Then I tried to open a movie from the card, it didn't do anything. And nothing else works either...
I don't know if there's any connection between these, but I'd rather let you know that I downloaded some suspicious files. I hope the tablet hasn't got infected or something similar.
I used to have such a problem not so long time ago... I had to reset the tablet, I didn't have a better idea.
I hope this time we'r gonna work it out.
Thanks in advance.
are u talkin abt the internal card? chk the file permissions n c if u can remount them..
the external sd card might ve the lock switch turn on, u can manually turn it off.

The only fix is to.send it to Dell
do you really think so? Btw the last option would be to reset the whole device again. But at the moment the only problem is that I can't delete those suspicious files. The others have been fixed. Haven't I mentioned it? So I can open the files again.
Btw I've checked the permissions. I only can unmount it...probably after I could remount it, but I don't want to delete anything.

If it's stuck in Read Only mode even a factory reset done by you will not change anything, IF it's in Read Only mode. If it's some other bug you may get lucky and get it resolved

[Q] Possible to enable USB mass storage mode on Trickdroid 5.6.0 ?

Hi there,
I´m about to cry myself to bed tonight Just came home from vacation with my family and by accident I deleted the folder with ALL photos and videos I have taken..
So I have tried everything now to recover my files without any luck. I´m using a rooted HTC One (M7) with Trickdroid 5.6.0 and ClockworkMod 6.0.3.1. I found some recovery software for pc but the phone needs to be in USB mass storage mode in order for the recoverysoftware to work. But it is not possible to choose that mode in Trickdroid 5.6.
I triede to finde some UMS enabler on Playstore and also tried to use adb shell /system/bin/sdutil ums enable without any luck. I get an /system/bin/sh: sdutil not found message and now I´m tired and out of ideas.
Do you guys know any solution or workaround on how to fix this ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Pierre
