i'm currently on orange and my contract is now up, i'm now due an upgrade, so after some thought i have decided i'm going to have a touch diamond 2 over the touch hd.
over the weekend i went round in the shops of orange vodaphone & O2 looking for one of these phones on contract, but while in each store staff all told me the same thing, they were not getting the phone.
can this be right does anyone know which uk network providers will be carrying this phone?
I saw somewhere on the internet that Orange was getting it, then other Uk networks would as well, but I don't know if this was wishful thinking or the poster had heard for real!?!

On Online, two Retailers sell contracts (As I know)
1. Mobilephonesdirect
2. Expansys
Two retailers sell T-mobile and Vodafone contracts and Mobilephonesdirect has more tariffs than Expansys.
Carphonewarehouse and Phones4U list it as coming soon (in May), so u don't have to wait long hopefully.

Yeah i got mine from MPD, ordered on Friday and arrived on Saturday....Can't complain
It was free with a t-mob contract £30 a month with 800 minutes any network and unlimited texts....added the unlimited internet (excluding VOIP) for an extra £6 a month (think it's limited to 3gb but i can still use my phone as a modem for my laptop which i'm doing now) If it's not enough, then you can get the upgrade to the max for 12 a month and then you get 10gb a month
Related
Vodafone finally got the V1615 (as they call it) in stock, got one on a new contract 35.00 per month 700 mintues, 500 texts, free bt headset fr £50.00
Upgrade cost was expensive, to upgrade one of our handsets on 35.00 month plan for 12 month contract was £280.00
Got it arriving tommorow, see if it lives up to all the expectations...
Well it arrived today as promised, comes with TOMTOM on a seperate disk and a couple of backup utilities, the supplied GPRS monitor i foud to be a pain as it clashes with the 3g logo at the top.
Vodafone dont seem to have done anythig to it other than the usual boot up screen.
Did spend finve minutes wondering why it would not switch on then found no battery in the box, they decided to put them all inside the carry case for the phone.
MUCH faster than the old TYTN in my opinion, just seem that bit snappier.
TOM TOM map i downloaded (1 fee) was very disappointing and seem to be a very basic one, did not even have our street on it so totally useless to me, will have to download full UK maps, another £49.00
Hi msward3380!
I got a HTC TyTn II and am on Vodafone!
Have you found any more things about Vodafone branding? Is it just the start up screen as you say!
I guess the is a Voda logo somewhere too...
It would be great if that is all Voda did to it!
Ofiaich
wow. That's expensive!! - I got mine as an upgrade from voda. Arrived on Friday. Cost me £17.50 on a 12month, or free on 18 month.
I was on a £50 tarrif, but they also dropped that to £35/month.
For upgrades, always ask for your PAC code first and goto disconnections/retentions. They will do you much better deals!
only on stores..

The vodafone version has a glossy back finish. Very slick, in my opinion.
Ok guys I end up getting the lady her iPhone she wanted back and looking to move this Phone. I am not in a hurry to trade so I will be looking for offers.
It comes with original box, 2 stylus, mini usb expander, manuals, installation cd, screen protecter since day 1. It is FULLY UNLOCKED and ready for any SIM. As you can see on the screen I have my T-Mobile SIM in and works flawlessly. It has had a Screen Protector on it since day 1 also. No lowballing please.
I can also include a 4GB MicroSD Filled with other great Programs for you and Full On Garmin Mobile XT GPS Program with a Full North America Map for an additional $35 so you wont have to pay for the monthly GPS Service because I have GPS Unlocked and running. It is the Full Turn by Turn with Voice Commands. Just google Garmin Mobile XT if your looking for all its features.
I have also loaded it with a Custom ROM with Windows Mobile 6.1. This Phone is absolutely an amazing phone and kills the iPhone with all of its capabilities.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Can you post some larger pics? I can hardly see these.
ive been researching this phone the past couple days, and im highly interested in upgrading from my dash to the kaiser. im in the market for a new smartphone a) cause i am bored with my dash, done everything ive wanted to it and b) its slow. i have a low budget, id say 300 tops and everywhere ive looked to buy this phone is at least 400. ive tried lookin for promo codes and all that fun stuff, nothin. i dont want to buy one off ebay cause you never know what youre gettin off there. I have t-mobile and i dont know wether to get this or wait to get the diamond/touch pro... bottom line is i like this phone alot and im ready for a new one...
if i could have waited, i would get the touch pro..
at least from what i think i know
still avalible?
Is the phone still avalible? What would be a reasonable offer at this time if so?
Thanks,
Loretta
Just to clarify, is there any particular benefit from ordering it from Google, as opposed to Ebuyer for example?
Certainly is to me.
If I have a problem, I don't want some other company in the middle.
I don't think you get the extra's like the £15 credit & the film unless you buy from Google.
Okay, so the £9 I could save getting it from Ebuyer is not really worth it?
ebuyer seem to suggest we do get the £15 credit - I didn't notice it when I ordered, I think it's been added since.

However, I cannot seem to find the footnote for the asterisk besides the line stating the £15 voucher :/
Yeah there's no footnote that I can see either. I'm sure they'll soon open a discussion thread for it, and plenty of people will be asking. I made the decision to order it from ebuyer not expecting to get the credit but it will be a nice bonus if I do. Delivery time was more important to me.
I couldn't find the * as well but if you look at the banner on the right hand side it doesn't show one
I used quidco and got 2% cash back (£4). Not much but every bit helps.
£196 for the tablet with £15 credit and free delivery. :good:
The credit and freebies seem
to be included with US retail sales. (Staples advertises the credit). I'm guessing that sales out of the US may or may not include them - but that there will be no difference between Google Play or third party sellers.
I assume that the main advantage is delivery time.
Google is presumably walking a tightrope, trying to both ensure consumer access to its hardware with Play, and trying to not undercut the retail channels it is wooing.
D'oh - Well spotted
This is the sort of discussion the stickies are for.
So I just moved to US and my brother got my the worst Sprint phone ever. I seriously want to upgrade. I had a look at the Sprint store and I am eligible for the upgrade in 2014 which sucks. I can buy a replacement phone from Sprint but they have super crazy prices over there.
So my next option was to buy a used one online. So I found some great deals for used ones and I am satisfied with them. But here comes the dilemma.
My friend told that I could get a TMobile Sim card for a $0.99 (http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-phone/T-Mobile-Prepaid-SIM-Activation-Kit) and then use any GSM unlocked phone.
So the Question is whether I should switch to tmobile and go pre-paid OR buy a used one right now and then after 2 years be more happy!
What would you guys do?
Thanks
Yeah, I like pancakes.

You can't use a T-Mobile SIM card in your Spirit phone so either way you need buy a used phone. (Whether it's a Sprint compatible one or a T-Mobile one). Personally, I hate CDMA phones. I'd go with T-Mobile.

damn tommy lee jones really looks terrible now :silly:
Pulled a total impulse buy on a white 32gb Nexus 5 as I've always been eyeing this phone. I just ordered a Z1 LTE C6906 in white from Sony (Buy.com had them for sale for $285!! but went back up to over $500 in 24hrs) so I'll decide which one to keep and then sell the other
Buy on!

It's worth paying a bit extra to have the 1 year warranty go through Google instead of LG.
I am seeing them in my area go for 250 to 325 depending on the version on Craigslist in mint condition. Might grab one of these as a backup.

Personally I never keep phones more than a year so this doesn't really persuade my purchases. But thanks for noting that.

It is the same 1 year warranty when from Google or otherwise,it is LG's warranty. You get Google's effort in front which is worth something, but for us in California buying from Google is $444.90 delivered vs this deal a $385 delivered is 15% more than taking this dealer or LG's warranty. Given failure rates are low for N5 I don't see the justification for 15% higher.
