Thanks!
Anyone really flashed and use this ROM? Any review?
Can you show some pictures?
Lol, I love your nickname I have to try this ROM, only because of your name when I have my blackstone back, I'll test it
Greets, cad^^
Once again thank you so much for your work!
Just want to clarify, any Chinese input originated from Taiwan Rom in this version? I understand there no Chinese input originated from HK Rom yet, and I'm absolutely looking forward to such version.

Hi all,
I quite like the ROM since it is very close to stock. However, in version 1, when playing MP4 files in Album, the screen is blank. Is this fixed in version 1.1?
Hi all,
Tested. Same problem with version 1.1. Blank screen when watching MP4 videos in Album. Hope this can be resolved. With Chinese input, it's cool since I am learning Chinese too!

Hi there,
Also, the Home and Back keys don't work when in Manila. It will be great if you can fix this. Solution at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493114
Thank you!
This is great to have a rom in chinese version. Is it possible to make the chinese input method in a separate cab?
Hi Somesex,
I want to commend you on a great ROM. The inclusion of Chinese support in a WWE ROM is great! Furthermore, this ROM looks like the stock ROM and seems speedy after a few tweaks with HD Tweak.
For me, it runs faster than Duttys 2.9 ROM that I was running. Thanks again for the great work.
Can the original HTC stroke input method be extracted and make it a CAB files? It can be very handy for people who loves to test with different ROMS.

You can either look for a Chinese ROM or an English ROM with additional apps supporting Chinese font so you can read SMS or input Chinese.
Depending on the apps you may not be able to support Chinese characters on all level (e.g. Chinese webpages are not shown correctly).
Look for StarkWong, he has something worked out for himself ...
Use the search function and you will find the necessary links ...
Cheers!
There are Chinese WM5 official ROMs, so if you don't need WM6, just CID Unlock or HardSPL/SoftSPL (Depending on G3 or G4 DoC chip) and flash that version.
For WM6, you can use my Chinese support for viewing and entering Traditional Chinese. For Traditional Chinese MUI, contact me via PM.

Thank you VERY VERY much for providing us CHT users such an awesome program!!! People who are looking for VIEWING AND ENTERING TRADITIONAL CHINESE should definitely check out Studio KUMA!!! (links under StarkWong's signature) It's amazing!!!!
Thanks x 100000000.
cht works on wizard, x51v and 8525(Hermes) but failed hx4700 wm6.1
Hi Stark,
Thanks for your release of CHT patches. It works on my x51v wm6, wizard wm6.1, and 8525(Hermes wm6).
However, after I install it to my hx4700 wm6.1 from following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371079
None of the CHT patches works.
Is it the result of registry protection to set/change the regional setting?
Is there any way to change the registry to allow the regional setting?
Please help !
Are you using the old version of Chinese support or the new one that I uploaded a couple of weeks ago?
The new one has the necessary policy tweaks built-in and does not require the install of the 2 additional cabs.
CHT for hx4700 wm6/wm6.1

Stark,
Thanks for your reply.
I try both mui.cab(with installed 2 small cabs) and BaseMUI.cab(w/o install 2 small cabs). In both cases, the pulldown menu only shows Today and "coldinit", and nothing else.
Would you please provide me the steps to (1) do regedit to set/change regional setting? and (2) once set the region to CHT/CHS, how to change the am/pm 12 hr vs 24 hr?
Thanks a lot!!!
Besides, I notice that in your web, there is statement that CHT is not for wm6.1???
Hi, I asked in many threads, but I didn't get answer. Where is official WWE rom 1.40.405.3, which I have in my Jade. On my previous devices every rom was 1.xx.405.xx, but there is only 1.40.721.2, which is for Asia, not for Europe. I'm afraid to flash it, without no way back...
Hi. Flash this rom without risk but make first hard spl
I am also looking for the official WWE rom 1.40.405.3, because I think that is better than the 1.40.721.X, especially regarding battery life. Anyone can help us?
If you use SPB backup, try to flash 721 and overwrite it by 405 backup. I did it and now I have 405 ROM and it solved my problem with keyboard change to default after reset. BTW I'm using 721lite1.5 version myself recooked

I am using "LITE" Series - 1.40.721.2 - ENG [ROM] v1.3. I have anymore the 405 ROM, because unfortunately I didn't know how to extract it from the device.
Using the 721 I see that battery life is worst than the 405.
Do you think that you can upload the 405?
I would like to aks if anyone can then work in it to create an "LITE" 405, like the excelent one created by sliders7.
I'm afraid, no. I don't have dumped 405 ROM, only backup file from SPB backup software, which override flashed 721 ROM...

Do you agree that 405 is better than 721?
Mine is WWE..1.40.488.2 (21259) purchased from Dubai..
Battery life is very good..
2 plvigo:
I can't say, if 405 is better than 721. I have suspiction, that 405 doesn't show battery consumption right, it has big jumps, 721 is more accurate. But I'm testing it only 3 days... One positive thing is, after reset Resco keyboard doesn't switch to default keyboard.
I've done some extensive analyzing between the two ROMS, 1.40.405.3 & 1.40.721.2.
The RIL driver in the 405 version, rilphone.dll, has a newer build date (only a few hours) and is different to the 721 version. All the other OEM drivers seem to be the same.
The OperatorPkg is of course different, my 405 is specific to the UK market with preinstalled favorites and RSS channels, the 721 seems to be for Hong Kong with different defaults including only being able to select UMTS (900+2100) + GSM (900+1800) bands.
Other differences are 721 version has Windows Remote Desktop and Cyberon Voice Commander, 405 has no Remote Desktop and only Cyberon Voice SpeedDial.
I cooked a 405 ROM with the Remote Desktop and Voice Commander from 721, stripped out sample pics and music, removed Opera cab and Google Maps cab as these are best added after the flash (you don't want cabs in ROM). I flashed the phone added back Opera and Google so I've now got the best of both worlds with an Opera that can be updated.
Hope this info comes in useful!

Hi! Are you able to upload this ROM??
Hi There... This Is My Device Information
ROM Version : 1.40.707.2 (21259)
ROM Date : 10/24/08
Radio Version : 0.27.30.09
Protocol Version : 12.27.30.09H
Any Information About This ROM ?
I Don't See Any Post Related To It Or Maybe There Are Something I Missed.
Hope this helps anyone wants to cook a Chinese enabled ROM.
This is a cab file that will install the Samsung i8000 chinese hand writing support.
I've been using Touch HD for some time. updated to WM 6.5 and found Chinese hand writing support are not as easily compatible as WM 6.1.
(was using kuma chinese support, but found this and loved it. This is compatible with Touch Input-big keyboard without any registry editing!!)
Simplified AND Traditional Chinese Support including Hong Kong Words.
Please note that this is only the input method, I would suggest to install chinese fonts of your liking from "Ricky's Universe"!
cannot upload to xda, please Download from below.

thanks very much. it works perfectly. 謝謝! typed using your cab on the miri rom.

GOOD!!!!!!!!!!
Actually not wrong Forum. I have spent the last 2 days with some users who want Chinese support. With cooked ROM's you need to have the right Wince.nls or it won't work.
Thanks for this I will try to put this in my list of additional programs and Apps after install.
does it support manila 2.1 rom?
or Wm6.5.3 manila 2.5
thanks, seems to work fine on Xanny's grid leo rom
any other download link?
This cab is excellent. Work for HD with BlackDragon Rom 1.8.
The only issue is it's not 100% working correctly with HTC Messenging in Manilla 2.5 ROM.

i hear some method can display chinese and input on the english rom, how can i do or found the information??

use the font from Hong Kong official ROM.
It supports CHT almost perfectly. but remember you have to change your regional settings to Chinese(Taiwan) or Chinese(Hong Kong).
E-Mail me if you want a cab.
For the Chinese input, tell us which IME you use.

Is is possible to extract the Chinese Font and input method from the Official HKCSL_WWE ROM? (CSL is a phone company in Hong Kong)
I am using the Offcial HKCSL_WWE ROM on my Pure now but I would like to use some nicely customize ROM find here.
The only only problem is I need Chinese. I wish I can put the Chinese font and input method to some cooked ROM.
Thank you for any reply,
From my experience with it so far, not really. The input has not been successfully installed on top of any of the existing cooked roms.
You will have to cook your own rom using HK CSL CHT input. I have not seen any of the cooked roms on here providing the CHT input.
yup...probably like what you said..

These are the cabs I use to get Chinese display on my Topaz. Seems to work fine with the new manila. First, I install the font cab, then without rebooting, install the NLS cab. Then reboot. Sometimes it takes 2 reboots to get working, but so far so good. These cabs only provide support for viewing Chinese, not typing it. You'll need to find something else for that. There are several input methods floating around on xda if u look.
Good Luck
i use ricky 6.5 chinese cab too. [tho i edit the cab and put another font in it, cuz the one ricky had was bold and i didnt want bold ^^;]
heres the procedure i use everytime i flashed a custom [energy] rom::
1. install TF3D2.Chinese.Taiwan_20090917_xmatrix.cab [by xkaiser] to convert most words to chinese. no need to reboot after install. n u will notice most things r displayed as squares now [install this if you want your manila to display in chinese, proceed to #2 if installed, if not installed, no need to do step 2]
2. IMPORTANT copy the files in smsfix.zip to \Windows root folder [this is because the language pack deleted the sms notification files, so if you dont add these files back, you will not receive any sound or vibrate when a new message comes in]
3. install RickyMSYH6.0Full__.cab follow the installation and soft reset when it asks to reset
4. install HTC Rhodium A4 IME V2.8 WVGA.cab [this is a chinese input that im currently using, it was designed for a touchpro2, so the keyboard is pretty much alike as the one we are using. tho... this one doesnt have handwritten input :[ ] this software is in simplifed chinese, but it works fine with typing traditional and hong kong characters
i dont know if installing these cabs will have any side affects though, i have no problem with it. been using them for awhile now, and they work with all the energy roms ive flashed [including the latest topaz 2011 build]

What everyone is saying is that even if you successfully extract the files, you couldn't install them into a cooked ROM. You would need to create your own ROM and add the chinese input when you cook it. I have tried some cabs in XDA that claim to let you use the htc chinese input and fonts, but they never worked for me. In fact they totally screwed up my phone and I had to hard reset.
That being said, you could (potentially) dump the rom you are using, then import it into a kitchen and cook your own custom ROM. There are lots of cooking tutorials on this site if you look around, but be prepared to invest considerable time and energy into the learning process. And to be honest, I think the other viewing and input methods listed in this thread are superior.
Just my 2 cents.

The display problem is very easy to fix. There are many fonts out there that work on Manila. If that's what is being looked for, I think some solutions have already been posted in this thread.
However, if you're trying to get the original HK CSL HTC CHT IME installed, then I am not aware of any solutions yet.

hi can you try to reupload the files as i couldnt download
I have successfully installed this Chinese IME (official ezinput) on the NhatHoa ROM using 23529 and manila 2011 3030. I did first install Chinese fonts and a NLS cab... (u can look for my post earlier in the thread.)
Seems to be working fine so far. Better backup before you try it though. I have heard it cant be uninstalled very easily.

Actually can use both English and Chinese directly with a keyboard button and also by changing sip... working great so far. Also both English and Chinese dictionaries seem to be working ok.
