XDA II Wi-Fi SD Cards - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

Hello,
Before i upgrade to a WM6 on my 02 XDA II i wanted to know what Wi-Fi SD Cards worked with what version of WM6.
So can anyone tell me what Wi-Fi SD Cards work with what version of WM6 because i was not sure what ones to use and i don't want to buy a card that works with the official WM6 only to find it does not work with the WM6 i downloaded,
Thanks,
Matthew.

There is a thread on wlan SD cards, just use search funktion.
My pluscom card works fine on all the tested roms.

Okay, i have found this wifi SD card:
http://www.techfocus.co.uk/wifi-wireless-80211bg-54mpbs-sdio-adapter-card-p-512.html
It is by Pluscom and i think it is the SD-54.
Has anyone got this working on a version of WM6 on the 02 XDA II?
Thanks alot!

All you want to know is in here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327925&highlight=WLAn+card
As I wrote, it works with all the roms I tested.

Was it easy for you to get that SD-54 working because i have heard that the SD-54 is not compatible with WM6?
Thanks for your reply's.

No problem to install
It wasn't a problem at all. Just install the driver and off you go. That's the way I like it!

Great,
I read on that post that it worked fine on the Syed Athers WM6 Pro but not the Aku 1.0, would you advise getting the Syed Athers WM6 Pro or is there better versions for wm6 out there? Theres so many different versions i don't really know which one to pick!

No problem, too!

It is as simple: You have to test yourself!
Normally you can switch back and forth without any problems.
In case you use PIMBackup in the right version, you can even change WM2k3SE to WM5/6.Xv without loosing any private data like contacts or SMS, ect.
Good luck, and happy testing.

i just upgraded my iis with the imate rom as well. personally, skype works a lot, and i mean A LOT better than it used to. i think it is mostly attributed to the upgrade of the radio.

If you want WM2003SE, I recommend Orange 1.31 with the 1.15 radio, I've found this the best and the fastest combination so far. If you want to use WM5, Wizard Port 1.0-TuMa is the way to go (link in my signature).
Thanks but arn't there any vodafone specific ones? not to keen on using cooked roms had nothing but problems with lockups and such when I had the xda 1

I've checked the FTP and I can't find any WWE Vodafone ROMs for BA, unfortunatelly (though there are some german ones). However, cooked ROMs works really well for many people with BA devices (including me) so you might want to give it a try.
well gave up and stuck with latest original O2 rom everything working including wifi internet and email so alls well

Can I use a Wizzard rom on a xdaIIs?

Can anyone tell me how to use this rom
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Tmobile/RUU_Prodigy_2170702_217_20710_TMO_US.exe
and put it on a xdaIIs?
Do I need to use a noid.exe and if so wihci one should I use?
You can't do it like that - it would be lovely if you could but a rom for the Wizard would need to be ported for it to work on the BlueAngel. To try it would give you a very nice doorstopper.
Ahh thanks for the warning!! So can this be ported from the wizard to the xdaIIs?
I would love to use the WM5 but as far as I have learned WM5 does not support Blackberry Enterprise aka Instant mail, and I have not found any CAB files that will work on my XDAIIs with WM5 installed. I am getting pretty good at upgrading and downgrading tho :-(
All of the TuMa editions are using a Wizard Port (allbeit an old version). They are really quite stable now and I think we're getting close to a rom to stick with
As far as Blackberry support, I haven't seen a BA WM5 rom with it however I imagine it could be ported but then again, I am no porter!
Kind regards
Lee
I found a German BB connect cab that will install on the BA WM5 that ivan made but right at the very end of the install it says cannot load instal module. You click ok and the program tells you it installed. When you go to find the BB settings eve in the BA it is under \windows and when you try to execute it the unit hangs up.
I assume that this cab is looking for the T-Mobile info to complete the install so we would have to have one of the very bright individuals in this forum find out what it is looking for exactly and fix that part of it. The BA WM5 would work with BB connect

WM6 and t-mobile

Has anyone a MDA2 working under WM6 with working phonesupport and t-Mobile (Germany)? I tried many combinations of phone-roms and WM6-roms, but no comination worked. On some cominations contacts and calendar was not working. Has anyone a working combination? Please tell me. (Perhaps with howto?)
I would be glad, if anyone could help me!
Your MDA II will work with helmi_c's TOFCLOCK WM6.0 ROM and c_shekhar's WM6.1.2 ROM. For both ROMS you should restrict to Radio ROM version 1.17, as newer versions have not been released for the MDA II. My own T-Mobile NL MDA II is now running c_shekhar's WM6.1.2 ROM and Radio ROM version 1.17 without noticable problems.
Thanks kinderenh!
Unfortunnately I tried both combinations you mentioned, but none was working for me.
if you cleared the regHive and storage between flashes as the guides tell you to
then the issue maybe else where then the rom
and that you use tmobile should not make any difference as contacts and calender should work even without a sim card in
Do Contacts and Calendar REALLY not work, or are the buttons of your MDA II "at the end of their life"?
Additionally, have you used the ExtROM unlocking tools to release the (otherwise hidden) ExtROM space? WM5 may work on your MDA II without doing this, but WM6 almost certainly will not.

I use German Rom by teijalk, see Post #4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379017
It is 98 percent German and working fine with T-mobile.
The best is that nearly everythng is working fine now.
Hey!
Buttons are working fine. But i didn't read in the instructions of the roms I used, that I had to unlock and free ram for it. I will try it.
Thanks!

Any WM6.1 ROM w/ Windows Live Messenger?

I'm still running StockOS (WM6-German). Since I'm running out of storage memory I decided to flash my device (VPA Compact IV). Particularly I would like to flash WM6.1 but I'm heavily depending on Windows Live Messenger. My problem is, that it seems that no 6.1 ROM has WLM included. Also installing WLM separately won't work, because all those standalone WLM cabs seem to be only working w/ WM6.
Does anyone know of a Custom 6.1 ROM where WLM is working properly?

No. It's considered an "out of date" or "out of circulation" phone. They haven't released anything for a LONG time.
We tend to not release ROMs with VLM on it because it takes up RAM and storage and most of us don't use it.
Use any ROM you'd like
Here are the .cab files. They work when Installed on Storage Card.
