Why hello there everyone.
New X1i user here. I'm not anpro nor a rookie (flashed my polaris a couple of times in the past) but I've got the following questions.
1: Is it safe to flash a WWE rom onto my dutch (vodafone) X1i?
2: What's the benefit of flashing your radio transmitter? I've never done that and I'm curious.
3: Which rom is currently the best? I really like the looks of mustangs rom (1.3.2) and it looks fairly complete. The only problem is, the thread is dead and it ain't got that much information.
Thanks in advance.
No one who can help me?
1: Is it safe to flash a WWE rom onto my dutch (vodafone) X1i? --- u loose warranty when flashing

3: Which rom is currently the best? I really like the looks of mustangs rom (1.3.2) and it looks fairly complete. The only problem is, the thread is dead and it ain't got that much information. --- well i use itje 7 final but its hard to say... every rom has some advantages and disadvantages

Hi all,
sorry for the newbie question but I'm thinking about upgrading my Trinity to WM06 and wondered if anoyone could answer some basic questions as I'm a bit confusted (... not that techie I'm afraid)
1. As my device is a SIM free, non network attached HTC P3600, do I need to do any of this "Hard-SPL" upgrading before selecting a ROM
2. is there a simple step - by - step flashing guide for newbies like me anywhere
3. Do the ROMs provided here enable SDHC for the device. I want to use higher capacity mini SD cards - this is a really important requirement
4. I love the inbuilt GPS and Tom Tom solution - are there any issues with GPS/Tom tom support in the upgrades
Many thanks in advance

Hey there, coe62!
I'm not a techie myself, but have just recently flashed my Trinity for the first time to WM6, so most of your questions were mine also. Here:
1. yes. From what I understood, also protects your device from a bad flash helping you recovering it (as far as I know, there are three of them: OliPro's HardSPL 1.30, OliPro's HardSPL 1.20 and Des' Crash Proof SPL)
2. http://www.trinityguides.info (thanks to racerx_)
3. some of the do, some of them don't, check here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1635483&postcount=5
4. using iGo, so I can't tell!
Best of luck!
iGo
hi tnyynt,
i've seen u are using iGo, and also seen the small flag in the corner....so let me say first "salutari". as i'm new user of a trinity and have the german wm5 (my german sucks), i will flash it to wm6 english but i don't know if iGo is working with wm6. is it iGo os dependant?

Hey there!
YES, iGo works very well on both WM5 and WM6. I had it with the stock WM5 and now using it with a cooked WM6, it works great on both operating systems.
Noroc!
hi there
Am as a newbie as well, lately i've been tried flashing pretty man ROMS over Trinity Windows Mobile Section 6, and find out some ROMs are really good, smoothness, fast and damn good performance, or you can try Mary(latest ROMs). Personally, after trying cooked ROMs, i found Only _AX3L_WM6_WWE_v3.1.2c FULL & LITE (25-10-07)
This ROM is simply an edited version of the Official DOPOD's ROM (lastest released version!) for the Trinity work on my DopdD810, what i mean is with this ROM i can get connected with Internet, but rest of other ROMS don't, i've no idea Why, i am from Hong Kong, somebody has idea due to connection to the internet??
Ok, due to my bad understanding which SDHC would be most suited for my device? As i read about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1635483&postcount=5
for ROMs flashing i follow the instructions, so far without serious errors happened, i'd to thank all of you, no matter newbies, seniors, moderators...
hi!
that's great, thanks. hopefuly i'll have time in week-end to play around and flash it!
numai bine!
Well i use this thread to post some of my questions...
i get my p3600 tomorrow and i'm very excited, so i want to flash the WM6 from bepe.
1. is there any way to backup the factory-flashed rom?
2. do i lose the warranty if i flash the device? is there a workaround?
3. I've read a few threads but i cant get an idea whats this hard spl for?
4. is it possible to reset the p3600 to factory default so may i can get warranty if somethings fails?
thanks for the replies..
Hi guys,
I want to upgrade my phone to one the WM6 roms available in here.
I just wanted to ask will the sms / email / mms settings stay once the new ROM has been flashed.
If not where can i find them to write them down.
Thanks in advance.
no, they will be erased...
take a look at the trinity upgrade guide on trinityguides.info which will take you step by step through flashing your ROM (backup, hard spl, flash ROM, restore, etc)
Erase the ROM before installing?
I heard it's better to erase the ROM before installing a new one.
A kind of a 'super' eraser to clean deply the ROM. Have you heard of any of such a program/utility?
Thanks
connetion problems
hi
i tried to get all steps like on trinityguides.info but always the same sh....
ERROR[260] : CONNECTION
1.the USB cable IS connected to PDA
2.also at hte PC
sync is done and i get always the same, doesn´t mater what i try
- HardSPL
- ROM flash
has anyone an idea? i just want to have a german wm6 on my 3600. later on a can install TT on the "normal" way.
thx for any help
Hi there one thing I want to say is thanks to all you guys for this forum its been great reading.
I wanted to confirm that I have a Diamond through T-mobile, UK, and currently running
ROM: 1.37.110.3 WWE
ROM DATE: 6/20/08
RADIO: 1.00.25.03
PROTOCOL: 52.26a.25.09U
Looking through the forum there are plenty of ROM versions there. The HTC website won't support the DL of 31-7-08 ROM with the serial I have, which I think is down to T-mobile.
Can you guys point me in the direction of the best radio and ROM for my version of the Diamond.
Sorry to be a pain but I'm confused at all the version at present
Many thanks
Best Radio would be 1.00.25.05 0r 06 to some.
Best ROM depends upon the user. I prefer lite ROMs always as I like to customize the rest my own way. So far, Im stuck to Bepe' eLite 0.97 version! Most stable yet I believe..
Regards,
Carty..
So it seems to get one that best suits your individual needs.
Many thanks
I got my diamond through t-mobile and the best thing ive ever done with the device is getting rid of the t-mobile software that slows the handset to a stop.
Im currently using radio version .07
and have tried both swiftbl 5.0 and duttys 1.6 roms
vast vast improvement on either rom compared to t-mobiles stock rom

Is there anyway of getting hold of the t-mobile stock as I am wary with my technical expertise that I will 'fudge' the fist flashes up and need to reload the stock ROM.
I have read that it can be dumped from a reading of the phone but apprently it needs to be reconstructed!!!!
This is where I got completely lost!
Cheers

The stock t-mob ROM is floating about on the diamond forums somewhere if you ever need it. Just make sure you flash Hardspl and you'll be fine.
I have got the Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex but cant tell you a version number as it does not seem to be on there.
Basically with the HardSPL flashed the Diamond will reset and carry on with the ROM it has until you flash a different one, and the same for the radio?
Thanks for your help
pretty much yeah
check out http://modmydiamond.info
for me bepe Rom it's very good.
about radio for me 1.00.25.07 it's better than 1.00.25.05
Hi All,
I've just got my new Touch HD but have never entered the world of custom roms before.
My current ROM is 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE dated 10/24/08. I've just updated the radio version to 1.10.25.25. My HD seems quite slow and generally I'm quite disappointed with it. That said I was quite disappointed with my HTC Tytn until HTC released a new rom.
From reading this forum there seem to be many happy people so I suspect that the software in my phone is more at fault. I've seen the new Arabian rom that has been posted. It obviously won't install on my UK model (I'm not tied to a mobile carrier) without me tinkering, but I wondered if there would be any benefit in me uploading it. Does it invalidate my warranty or can I reset the original rom should I need it repaired?
As a rule do custom rom makers use the latest offical release and then tweak them? What are the benefits?
I'm sorry for so many newbie questions. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction of some great "simple" instructions I would be grateful.
Regards
Jonathan

hi bro welcome to XDA.
Everything regarding flashing, upgrading and choosing from cookded roms , official roms and valuable information can be found here for Touch HD thank to HDUSER for updating here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
good luck
The first couple of pages in the wiki are a bit complex if you're new to all this and have never customised your phone. Loads of unneccessary info (which is nice to know, but not always important). The easiest way by far to flash your ROM would be using SPL and flashing from your SDcard. Search the forum, as there one or two threads specifically abpout flashing for n00bs.
There's one specifically I'm thinking about which really helped me out, but I have no idea anymore which one it is and I can't be arsed to search for it for you Search is your friend (search for: flashing ROM n00b newbie).
I'd like to flash my kaiser but am scared of bricking it
I have an Imate Jamin that I can play around with... just wondering if the process for flashing both phones would be the same?
pls help!
If you want to flash a Kaiser ROM, start here. Follow the instructions, and everything should be fine. And just a little personal advice, if you're a little uneasy about which ROM to try first, the PDACorner series is excellent IMO. And I've never owned a Jamin, so I don't know, but I'm guessing the answer is no. Good luck,
Dave
Hi, been looking through the various sections of ROM development forum, and have a couple of questions. I am new to this Windows based phones.
1) When I dump the ROM, does this Backup the ROM, radio and Protocol, or do you have to do them individually? Basically can I put the MDA Compact V back into its complete original state if I dont like the new ROMS?
2) Has anyone tried Flashing the Compact V, if so, any improvements?
Hoping some of you experts can help out a noob!
2) You need HARDSPL installed. Then you can flash any topaz rom on it. Trust me, you don't want to go back to the t-mobile rom.
Let us know how you get on, i'm thinking of doing the same thing
I dumped my rom from the mda compact v but I havent put it back together as nbh yet. Downloading the topaz kitchen to do so.
It is always a good idea to dump your rom before flashing a new one. If your phone develops a fault t-mobile will not accept responsibility if there is a custom rom on there and they will likely tell you that your warranty has been invalidated. Although the t-mobile rom is awful is always good to have it backup up just in case of the worst.
Saying that I didnt backup the radio though and I updated that to the latest last week
EDIT: To answer the question yes there are improvements with running custom roms. I have not moved to 6.5 yet as I have a heavily customised uDK 6.1 rom and cannot be bothered to move to 6.5 and do all the customisations again. There 6.5 rom appear to be slightly buggier from what I read but it does have its advantages over 6.1.
Backup the t-mobile rom and move to the custom roms just make sure you follow the instructions carefully
Thanks for the replys.
Pauloke: I have backed up the ROM (parts.raw) and I have also got the kitchen, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. Worst case, I have a copy anyway. The kitchen instructions get quite techy very quickly and they soon lose me. Is there any way of getting a copy of the shipped ROM online?
Cheers

One way is to check the website of your provider. Sometimes you find the ROM (as an update) there.
Another way is to check the WIKI TOPAZ cooked ROMs page. By chance you find your ROM there.
Ohh man i must be rly stupid, why i cant figure out how the @#% i can dump my rom :S This dumprom tool is supposed to extract an already backed up rom right? i'm really confused :/
