i tried alot of things also registery editing trying to get my photo save location out of my documents.
i want my photos to save them to internal storage/PICTURES.
now i always get them into internal storage/my documents/my pictures.
after some register editing i managed to get them into internal storage/my documents.
but how to just get them into the root map of internal storage and then the folder /PICTURES.

I don't know about moving the My Documents folder to the storage card but moving the picture/video storage to the storage card is quite simple ^_^ Simply load the Camera application, click the settings button (the icon with the picture of the screwdriver and hammer), click Tools -> Options..., then goto the General tab. At the bottom of that window you will see 'Save to:' followed by a drop box. Change the value there from Main Memory to Storage Card. Now all of the pictures and videos that you take will be saved to your storage card instead of to the phones main memory. I hope this helps some ^_^
good start
was not quite what I was thinking but actually it will do the job for the moment.
Thanks

Why not just use total commander in 2 window mode and drag and drop the entire picture folder onto the storage card? Why would you need a registy tweak to move photos? :?:

To keep the camera from saving it to the main memory to save space
I haven't tried it myself but wouldn't a simple shortcut do the trick? delete the My Documents on the device and put a shortcut to a folder on the storage card instead...

If you delete the My Docs folder from the device Mobile Word at the very least will cease to function (at least in my experiences...)
I use the info I found Help I need to remove SD Card reg hack for \storage card\my documents\my pictures to default my camera's pics and videos to \\storage card\my documents\my pictures and \my images.
The exact key is [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Image]
value of "Saveto" = 0 will save images to main memory
value of "Saveto" = 1 will save images to storage card
Attached is a cab (rename from the zip extension) that changes the 0 to a 1 in both places.
Bear in mind that ActiveStink will NOT sync folders on your SC so you need to either do it manually or use a 3rd party solution.
Hope I was of some help.

thank you.so helpful.
don't use the camera often, but recently, I found when taking a picture, all is normal, good scene on screen, autofocus, etc and when I shoot the picture, it does not save. Running a Tilt, stock ROM, and have tried various camera/album combinations trying to find one that works. Currently with Navadi version 5. Interestingly enough, I can take video and it works well, just will not save still photos. Camera program sees my storage card, everything seems normal, except no photo file after snapping the shot. I am out of ideas.
i think it is saving them to the dcim folder on ur sd card
Nope, nothing there. It does not even go through the usual motions of freezing the frame for a second while saving. I have scoured the phone and card and find nothing.
Fire up schaps advanced config, check the "Save location" under "Camera" and "Default storage locatin for images" under "Locations".
By combining the two you should be able to find it. I left the DCIM option on once and took me ages to find the photo, but it was in a DCIM folder on my storage card, somewhere...
Also,
Use total commander or resco file explorer to search for the files. *.jpg for example

Thanks, already tried all of that, seems there is either a software or hardware issue with saving pictures. I am beginning to believe it is a hardware issue, although a curious one indeed. I am pretty good with these devices and this one has me stumped, never lost to a computer yet, though. If it is a hardware issue, maybe tough to fix.
I have a similar problem: taking pictures works fine and it saves them in the correct folder on my storage card, as I set it in Advanced Config.
But whenever I take a GPS photo, I can't find the pictures anywhere. Are GPS photos being saved somewhere else I don't know about? If so, does anyone know which folder they're saved to? If not, has anyone else had this particular problem?

The GPS photos are stored in \My Documents\My POI (or \Storage Card\My Documents\My POI if you've chosen to store your pictures on your SD card).

I've had similar issues with mine (also running the stock AT&T ROM). What I've found is that the "press halfway to autofocus, but all the way to take the picture" thing often makes me believe that I've taken the picture, when I haven't. If I am more careful about pushing the button in all the way, it'll take the photo and save it.

Yes, I actually found out about the same time you posted this reply.
Thanks for your help!
Possibly related issue: My tilt camera will save fine to device storage, but if I tell it to save to the SD card, I get nothing. If I catch the photo while it is displayed for review, and click the mail button, I can send it in an email. Even stranger, if I take a jpeg, and copy/paste it to the DCIM folder, it never appears, but I can write to other parts of the card fine.
I think this is a software problem, not hardware.
EDIT:
Found solution on another thread. Camera dosen't like folders created already on the card, so to solve, just delete the DCIM folder, and restart camera.
Hello for all
I´m a newbie with Diamond and have one small question. Is it possible to change the default folder for storing camera pictures? In options are only two posibilities (to phone memory or Internal Storage). I want save photos to a custom folder (for example like a "\Internal Storage\My Documents\Photoshots") but if I manualy edit the registry values (change "\DCIM\" to custom path) and make a photo, they still save to Internal Storage\My Document.
So can anybody help me with this?
Give Advanced Config v3.3 a spin.
Hello, I have got a question. When I receive photos via BT I can, without any problems find them in file explorer. But how can I move them in such a way, to be able to see them in photo gallery in Touchflow?
Regards, fck.
move to Internal Storage/My Documents/My Pictures
Obvious really isn't it?!?!
Obvious as hell. The point is, in my case it's not working.
Regards, fck.
May I ask which ROM do you use? as this can be ROM dependent
May I suggest a couple of programs that may help
1) HTC4_Inbox A program that saves BT transferred files to storage card Start -> Settings -> Connections -> OBEX Inbox to choose where u want to recieve files.
2) Advance Config 3.3 a useful tool that allows you to specify the mapping of folders like;
My Documents
My Videos
Etc
I am using the Aztor x2 Ultimate. I am familiar to Advanced config application, I am using it for battery saving features. The problem is, why no photos are beeing displayed in the photo album although they are in correct location.
Hi,
All i'm doing is copying images to my \\internal storage\my documents\my pictures and they always appear right away in Tf3d.
What is the path you have for your images?
Hello all,
It was suggested to me to post this question here.
I am looking for a way to basically poing any and all possible to the storage card. I think I remember a couple years back finding one for my Hermes here at XDA-Developers.com but now I can't seem to locate it??
I would like it if someone knows how to or an app to do this if they could let me know. I think I remember the other one being a .cab that directed everything to the card.
Does this make sense to anyone?
PS: I know on the camera app you can select the device or the card.
Make it little clear
do you want to receive files(say songs etc) through bluetooth and get them stored in memory card and want to place inbox in memory card ?

Well what I was thinking was I would like any and all files to be stored on the card.
For instance, when active-sync creates a short cut on the desktop (pc) for files to be sync'd there is a list of folders... If I click "Explore" in AS it opens to files on my device. Now if I follow it correctly, all the files in the (pc) desktop shortcut leads to the folders in the "My Docs" on the device.
The last sentenance is what I would like to change, I would like for any and all files besides apps or system files to be stored on the card.
Meaning, no "My docs" on the device memory, just the card.
Is there a way in the registry or something else to change the path for said folders to be redirected to the memory card?
I don't think there is an app that will do this
SKTools has a "move file" option that says it will move the file and update information in the registry, but its not clear if this applies to folders
Now, you could try using a registry editor with find-replace to find all instances of "/My Documents" and change it to something like "/Storage Card/My Documents", then soft reset and see if that works -- I can't seem to find a registry editor that does find and replace like this -- anyone?
Advanced Config Tool (attached) will allow you to specify default locations for directories.
