Missing keys. - Shift Development

Can anyone tell me how to use the shift keyboard to press keys that aren't there?
For example, how do I hit DEL to enter the bios when there is no DEL key. Or how do I press / on the shift keyboard?
This is annoying.

you have to use the "Fn" button, which enable the blue part of the keys, like for example the "ins" button or the "F1-10" buttons.

I know how to use the function (fn) key, but there's no del or / in blue on any of the keys.
Caid.

What language keyboard does your shift have?
On my Shift, the del key is the 2nd one to the right of the space bar, and the / key is next to the arrow keys.

hehe
Yeah, too bad I didn't get to read your post about 3 days ago when I got the shift. I figured it out about 3 hours ago, that the keys are there, but have different symbols on them. Pretty annoying, really. And Canc means Del in Italian, that I'm pretty sure now
Thanks again for helping me out with that information

As far as I know, Shift has no F11 nor F12.
And what is "Fnc" anyway?

Ctrl key for Treo 750

Sorry for this but while I was looking for something else I come across a post that mentioned a reg key to change the right Shift key to Ctrl key. At the time I was not paying much attention to it but now when I wanted to know more about it I can't seem to find that post. I dont even know if it was posted here or in some other forum.
I know there is one called Ctrl Key Pro but that one uses the Alt key and not the right shift key for the Ctrl task.
Can anyone help?
Its Ctrk Key Pro. Just load it up and press Alt + 0 (zero) to get to the options. From there you can set your CTRL key and ALT key that you want to use instead of the defaults. I took a look and it doesnt seem to indicate left or right shift...only SHIFT. There may be a hex code for the left vs right...possible thats what you were looking for?

Is it possible to assing a HW button to X/OK

Sometimes it is hard to press/touch accurately the small X or Ok button in the upper right corner. Is it possible to assign a HW button to it?
would be good to have the back HW button work as the x button!

The button with the arrow left on your diamond actually does exactly what you want.
The only program that comes close to assigning any Diamond hardware key to anything is ae buttons plus, so try that.

Yup. I used to use AE Button Plus when I first got my Diamond and had the (backarrow) key mapped to the Close Application function (as in terminate not minimise). Used to work well for me but then I stopped- you don't really need more than the original function of backarrow (minimise), what with all the performance enhancements the custom ROMs bring about.
yeah...that's what the back button does...the one with the left pointing arrow! it's an OK-cum-Back button...
it works for minimising/closing programs too

Is Copy / Paste available with hardware keyboard buttons ?

Someone tried to use some of the special hardware keyboardbuttons in the lower left corner of the keyboard to copy / paste ?
Can one of the keys used as a STRG key in combination with C and V when entering text ?
Greets !
bump
Im interested in this as well, anyone have any ideas?
this is windows, use ctrl+c and ctrl+v
you can set the key to open a context menu, then choose cut/copy/paste

That is the point, how do we get a "ctrl"-key assigned? The "strg"-key fotoingo mentioned is the German "ctrl"-key. Any suggestions?
i dont think CTRL + C works?

on the onscreen qwerty works perfect.
Yes, CTRL+C/V/X works with hardware keyboard. All you need is a software to map some of the key on your HW keyboard to CTRL function. I would recommend X1BC (use search on this forum)
Is it possible to set the Fn key + C / V / X to copy / paste / cut?
with AE Button plus you can set it up. eg you can map that weird au button so that single click = cut, double click = copy, and triple click = paste. Lots of other ways you can do it too, using other keys on the hard keyboard.

That's exactly how I use it, works great!
Also would the original poster care to take this solution and edit his first post with it. It's harder for others to scroll than to edit your first post.
Thanks
X1BC will help you, i tested it and worked fine!
Software url:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468007&highlight=X1BC
Step:
1. Install X1BC
2. Change the registry:
"LongKeyTimeout" = 2000
"TabCtrlMode" = 2
3. Put X1BC.lnk into the startup folder, restart your X1
Tab + A (Select All)
Tab + Z (Undo)
Tab + X (Cut)
Tab + C (Copy)
Tab + V (Paste)
-------------------------
HKCU\SOFTWARE\JKing\X1BC\TabCtrlMode
Here are the possible choices:
0 - Do not use as ctrl
1 - Short press mode (short press to enable ctrl then press a letter; long press sends tab chr)
2 - Long press mode (press letter while holding ctrl; short press sends tab chr)
Is'nt it easier to use the natural keyboard and use <shift> & the cursor keys to select your text that you want to cut/copy, then use the on-screen keyboard to select <ctrl> & c (copy), x (cut) or p (paste)?

good question. I have that problem too.
well... not a real solution, but I've noticed, that if You write on hw keys with screen tilted, then it's less easy to press those two keys, as Your thumbs will have less space above them.

It true that when tilted that they are press less easy, still sometimes i press those keys. i almost always tilt the screen whem typing with hw keys.
Still it would be nice if there is an sollution for this.
AE Button Plus
I use AE Button Plus with no action assigned to a single press of the hardware soft keys (in other words, it ignores a single press of those keys). It affects the buttons in both portrait and landscape modes. If I need to access the single-press soft key function then I just need to press on the screen. I also have the single-press function mapped to a double-press of the hardware soft keys as an alternative.
lol....
And I was thinking I was the only one with that problem...
And got the same soluttion than you guys... tiliting the screens is not so easy to press those buttons

Delete Key App

Got a question.
Got a Touch Pro last weekend, but the "del" key isn't working.
I pressume its broken, cuz the keyboard backlight doesn't go on when i press it.
Is there an app out there, that gives me a onscreen del key whenever i type anything?
Or a howto to make one myself?
Why dont you use the "Raphael Keyboard Remaper" to bind backspace to the right shift key, an onscreen backspace isnt so easy i think.
