Cyrket link Has anyone got the .apk for this? As i can't seem to find it on Market at the moment, It's a really good widget
Sorry, can't access it in my market either. Too bad, it looks kinda nice.
It was available yesterday, weird. This app has one big drawback. It prevents your phone from sleeping causing the battery to drain faster.
It's an awesome widget, but it drains battery and way too much CPU resources. It makes the G1 much slower. Bummer...
Hi,
I am the developer of this widget,
I decided to stop publishing for a few hours to fix a lot of problems. I had several problems with the widget, especially to manage the time with AM / PM.
Currently, most bugs are corrected, the widget is usable.
Yes, it uses lots of battery , as it is refreshed every second. I'm trying to see to define the delay of updates in the control panel.
If you find bugs, do not hesitate to send me an email.
Thanks for your support !
(Sorry for my english)
Mind if you send me the latest apk, If you would like me to do some testing for you...
EDIT Sorry found it in marketplace, will reinstall

I hadn't used the desktop app before so when I heard it was out for Android it piqued my interest. I downloaded it and although it has a few things missing (lists and hashtag searching I think is missing) they're not important to me. Anyway the purpose for me posting here is to check if anyone else using Cyanogen's Mod v4.2.5 has issues with notifications not happening. This, for me, is the second app that doesn't run as intended using CM ROMs and I don't like that one bit. Before I mention it to Cyanogen I want to see if I'm the only one having issues.
I'm having a few problems, too. Sometimes the program will crash when opening/closing the keyboard, sometimes it will freeze when switching tabs, etc.
I don't think it's CM's issue. I'm having a lot of FCs with it on Amon_RA's ROM as well, think it's just not stable enough.
I mentioned it to them via Twitter and they said they'd look into it. For an initial release the interface is really good I think but notifications are a must. To make sure it wasn't the ROM in general I've tried three separate ROMs now and ran another Twitter program at the same time, same interval updates and the other program (I Tweet) got all updates. Stupid thing is when I was reading them I got Seesmic telling me there were updates now. I'm sure they'll fix it but they better do it fast or the ratings will drop it.
After having some pretty horrible battery life I started searching around on some of the widgets I was using--it looks like some of them barely touch your battery while others drain it. I was curious what other users have seen and if they found any decent alternatives.
The ESPN Scorecenter widget killed my battery. Haven't spent enough time with Google Scoreboard or Sports Tap, but they seem to be better and allow you to set how frequently they update. The ESPN app doesn't, I think it's pretty close to a constant pull.
Anyone see much difference with using a Weather Channel widget vs. not? Any good alternatives?
hi everyone,
with the G2 coming out next month, I think this is gonna be my last attempt at getting my G1 working acceptably.
for those of you that would like to skip my sob story/history, you can skip to the next paragraph. i've had a G1 since july 2009. even though i do love it and android, the thing has constantly run horribly for me. constant lag, a history of force closes (although lately none of that luckily), lots of freezing, restarts etc. i've gone thru tons of different roms, currently on e-Xtreme 2.1 version 1.3. had lots of experienced people from these boards help me with flashing, setting up, reflashing, flashing again, setting up again, formatting my sd card, trying different setups, unrooting and rerooting. we've tried all different kinds of things to get me running well. i'm also at this point using NO widgets except the google search bar and the power widget included in 2.1. when i go to running services all i have is android keyboard, quick search box, gtalkservice, twidroyd, cm updater (impossible to shut off it seems), and setcpu. still i get constant lag from everything from opening messages, to opening websites, to getting back to the home screen, to pretty much everything. forget about loading the camera, it can take like 15 seconds sometimes! i frequently use cachemate to clear my cache. honestly right now the phone is working pretty much the best it's ever worked, but its still awful. also sometimes when i get back to my homescreen my icons don't show up. it's actually bad enough that sometimes i will just not bother doing something i wanted to do cause i dont feel like dealing with it lagging and/or freezing up. and forget about widgets. haha.
ok so, you may or may not have skipped all of that, but at this point, i want my phone to run better in a last ditch effort to maybe be able to stick with the g1 until my full contract is up in july 2011. if not i'm doing the early upgrade and reupping my 2 year contract and getting the g2 next month... what i'm wondering is maybe theres an app i have installed that's eating up memory in some way and is a known issue. i've searched around but haven't found anything about these, and rather than sit here and delete each one, one by one, waiting to see if the phone runs better, i figured i'd just type out a list and see if anyone knows of any known issues with any of these... so here it goes:
astro
barcode scanner
cachemate
calwidget
color flashlight
craigsnotifica
dolphin browser
droidball
drop
facebook
frontiers demo
googles
google sky map
gscript lite
last.fm
latitude
lyric droid
magic gem II demo
movies
myspace
nesoid
news and weather
newsrob
orbs knockoff
painting findings
pandora
pingdroid
replica island
rom manager
setcpu
springpad
soduku free
tangram master full
throw a panda
that's it. i really don't think that's so excessive. i mean theres only like 5 or 6 games in there and some of those things like setcpu, facebook and cachemate are pratically required for proper phone usage. and i wouldn't even bother having a phone without twidroyd and newsrob.
so has anyone heard of any known issues with lag caused by having one of these installed and/or one of these doing something in the background that slows stuff down?
thanks so much to anyone that helps. i'm willing to give this one more try. maybe even wiping and reflashing one more time, but after the dozen times i have already, i think i might just be expecting too much haha.
thanks
Dave
heya fellas
going thru my battery history on daily basis i find those 5 culprits abusing my battery.
Gallery: uses a lot of batt due to sensor usage ( def bugged )
Dialer: what in gods name is Dialer doing to abuse the partial wake/net connection(3G) ?
0: some freaky app i guess that uses a lot of batt under net connection usage(a click on this to see any more info FC the batt history app, wow)
UID 10007: no idea what this is but its right there under 0 using net connection too
Email: i doubt its something wrong but since i have it on a 10 min refresher i dont mind it being up there since i was the one who chose a 10 min interval. but still its sucking my batt
need pics? i could post em if anyone could help.
now id love to know if anyone knows of any solution to those huge battery suckers?
what in gods name is 0 ? or UID 10007 ?
Gallery 3d sensor still bugged? im guessing my only solution here is to delete this by titanium and use another gallery app instead of the original ? any recommendations ? has anyone been down this path ?
any info is much appreciatted ^_^
anyone ?
anything ?
Sorry for late reply.
You probably already have this fixed, but for others that still get this problem the fix is to remove the original Gallery 3D app with Titanium Backup and then install the same Gallery 3D from the Android Market.
Ah yes, and for all this to work you need to Root your phone, with something like z4root.
Hope it helps!
I've looked around about the 0 think, and came to the conclusion that it's probably the process for network standby (ie staying on the network). If anyone knows otherwise/can confirm that'd be great
Yes, 0 process seems to be an internal loopback for connections. All should go trought 0. Is fine, do not care about it.
An even easier way to get the updated gallery (with better resolution photos) is to install SGS Tools (not toolbox, tools), pick 'upgrade stock apps' then 'modded 3d gallery'.
The Email battery drain bug is a known one, maybe try using k9 mail instead? Or you could try the galaxy tab app, it worked fine for me (after a little fiddling, mostly to fix the camera FC issues) but it doesn't support HTML emails, which is a bit disappointing.
Or just set the update interval to something like an hour.
The dialer thing has been bugging me too lately, i havent nailed the problem yet.
I had Android for a while, and I remember there was an App that broke down Battery/Cpu usage. It would even keep track of how long the screen was on, what was being used most that could potentially be using the battery more.
Ive yet to see an App like this for WP7, let alone 8. Is it even possible? Or is it just yet another thing impossible due to MS lock down on some aspects of the phone OS?
I really do like this OS, but it seems more and more, MS's lock down really hurts development, preventing Devs from really bringing out the most of the OS and prevents functions and abilities youd normally think would exist.
I can understand the want for an app like this (I had it on android myself), but since switching over to WP8 I don't see the need.
All the apps on here run very well and nothing is going crazy like it does with android. Locking down the OS is a good thing sometimes, devs have a much harder tune creating system level apps that run way out of control or have memory leaks that cause battery to run dry in an hour. The only thing I have done is gone to the background apps in settings and stopped what I didn't want running in there.

I initially thought this when I had WP7 and a Trophy. Now that I have the 920, I would love to have this. Partially just to prove out that using my phone (screen on) and games and other things just eats up the battery like crazy. Others over at WPCentral have also posted issues with the battery. Many people have in fact. It would be very useful to some of us who are experiencing issues.
I know some claim to get over a day or more use out of their 920. I, among many others, could only dream of such a thing, or perhaps achieve it if we just didnt do much with our phones.
I disagree on the lock down. While I get your point, having used Android also, I enjoyed many great apps that just wont ever be possible on WP's. No other email clients, no true 3rd party browser not built on IE, no new keyboards to name a few. Some of these apps I had used on Android really were superior to what Ive seen MS do with WP. Which is why I think sometimes 3rd party Devs or home Devs sometimes can just do things better as well as think outside the box and give us real options. You dont get real options for many thing on WP. Everyone is stuck with the same keyboard, browser, mail, messaging client, etc.
True...but remember, there was a time when nothing like that was available for Android either.
Devs have made things more than possible - granted an open system helps - but don't discount what may become available in the future.
Yes there are battery monitor apps for Windows Phone 8. Battery Level for Windows Phone 8 seems to be the most popular. The nice part is that it will autoupdate the live tile with the battery level and you can add it to the lockscreen to show it there as well. It's not quite as in depth as Android with regards to telling you what is pulling the most power but as others have mentioned on WP8 it's a slightly different mechanic than Android as the background processes are a lot more regulated with regards to how they can do that (as are the developers when making their apps). It would be kind of interesting to see something like Android's built-in battery stats but I honestly haven't really haven't had any problems (not that I was really having problems on Android either).
Battery Measure is similar, and has a free version with ads - live tile, graph over time. etc.
and can you tell us where we can get the battery monitor for th WP 8? I want one...
