extend batterylife ?

hi..are there any hints on how to keep that poor battery alive as long as possible ? mine only keeps up for a day, even though i dont mess around that much. ive already set all energy saving options to the maximum, but not much of a change yet. is there maybe a energy saving rom or something ? or do u have general hints how i should treat my battery...maybe charge it while the device is off or somethin ?

You are kidding right?? Are you the same guy that asked for a software that charged the battery while running in the background??? Lol

using light sensor (auto backlight) lead to using more battery (rather than maximum backlight) (10of10)

I have had pretty horrible battery life with 3 roms I have used. (will not mention) But my question is which rom offers the best battery life without undervolting.

Dude carry a charger. With this beautiful big screen to light bright u need a battery

lol i bet you hav everythin u can do to suck the battery down on anyway
Try using wallpapers instead of livewallpapers, get a task killer (some ppl think it doesnt do anythin but in my experience you can save alot of bettery life with one of these), turn the brightness on your screen down, turn Wi-Fi n BT off unless ure usin it etc etc
All saves battery lol
If that dont help you then yeahh carry a charger with you lol

Have to agree with some of these.
Y5 is a great program to manage WIFI, basically turns it on when in range of known WIFI/off if not.
Task killers do seem to help me control battery life.
Definitely swap to a normal 960x800 picture for your wallpaper.
Get SetCPU and set max clock speed down, and also set profiles.
Undervolted kernel is obviously another advantage.

This may be a daft question but if Wifi is off, how does it know you are in range?

It remembers your GPS location,
works just like Locale ... but i could never get Locale to work so Y5 is great for Wi-Fi

But surely if you are trying to save battery, but have to have GPS on, you are robbing peter to pay paul a bit?
EDIT: Just tried it and it works by cell location too which makes more sense for saving battery

I hate Peter anyways.

So why not undervolting? it's not bad for the hardware, it can improve battery

just use the digital rain live wallpaper with the brightness at the lowest, it has amazing contrast, keep gps and wifi off, and carry your usb cable everywhere you go, and if you decide to undervolt you should get even better results, I dont even charge my NexDesire daily anymore

Spikes Unoff kovsky 1.5 is by far the best windows mobile 6.5 rom for battery usage. A full charge lasts me atleast 2 days ( for moderate usage ) .

Oobly's Phoenix ROM WM6.1 with manilla 2.1
well, when I'm in school I recharge my phone every night with every ROM because I use wlan/3G and listen music a lot.. the battery sometimes remains at about 50% but anyway, better recharge it than the phone turns off next day.
Now I'm home for few weeks and the battery last for 4 days and it still had 48%.. in that time I sent/recived about 50 sms, talked at least 10 minutes used internet (wifi / 3g) to just see what's new on facebook and update weather (then I recharged it because I wanted to flash it.. but I didn't xD ) so that means with this ROM you have at least 5 days battery life if you don't use wlan to much. With 6.5 ROMs you won't have good battery life.. so I recomend you 6.1 and this one from oobly is bugless and stable, a lot of eyecandy too and it's fast and smooth (this is what you won't get with wm6.5 ROMs). I recomend it.. he also have a version with manilla 2.5 but it doesn't support landscape, he's working on a new version thoug =P

This does not have TF3D right? What do you use for accessing programs / emails / texts, etc.... SPB panel?
Also is it fast?
I might switch to this rom purely to improve battery consumption, however I have only really used TF3D for the past year.

I prefer roms from MrRusch (or the former Smaberg) They're roms can easily go for 3-5 days max.
MrRusch latest creation is with WildChild => Untamed2, but it's a bit buggy.
So I would recommend their previous project => Untamed 1.3.
It's the official 6.5 rom (with start on the top) with Manila/Sense 2.1 & it doesn't eat a lot of your ram ;-)

spike's X1.5 ..much has been said.. this is my 3rd day with 20% left.. i made calls.. messages.. wifi.. include games hehehe.. depends on how you use.. additional to its "Advance Config" "cleanRAM" "SDtuneup".. for me it works while it boosts and lasts

I installed on my X1 this firmware
Work with her a couple of days, and then I'll write here your comments and time of the batteries.
The first impression is quite nice

This firmware is really good!
I use it already full 2 days and the battery total of 50%.
3 - 4 days battery missing, and it is 3-4 times better than the previous firmware which lasted only 24 hours

yeah 826X roms are really good, both in terms of graphics and performance , the cook is a bit shy though , doesnt promote his roms here on xperia section, have to go to his blog to see .

any rom without manila has better power consumption than with manila
any rom without eye candy stuff better than with eye candy stuff

I just flashed the energy roms, but it seems the power drain is 2 much, and I had to charge in office or the battery can't last 1 day, is there a rom which drains less power?

Hi there,
I'm currently using Miniterror's Ravage Full and i'm quite stunned by how little power is being used. I charge my phone every night religiously but after 17 hours, with 3G active, permanent internet connection, auto Facebook/Twitter/Weather/Stocks/email downloads it was at 62%. That includes text messaging, Garmin, video recording and phone calls. I honestly thought the battery meter was false.
Try it, it's incredible!

Its not true about NRG ROMs because all depends from the Build and Manila im using 21898 build Manila 2.1 Sense and with Normal take.. shooting pictures, some WiFi usage and watchin videos i have always minimum 4 days battery sometimes even more.

I agree, with normal usage , the phoenix version does last atleast 3 days.....( then again it also depends upon how old ur phone battery is , battery recharge efficiency decreases with time anyways ).

My phone is maybe the one of the Oldest one here i buy my Blackstone imideately when was out on the market and there was very hard to find it so i buy 2 Blackstones and wait around 10 days they to arrive because they was not still avalible. Like i say this mean its more than 2 years old i use it non stop everyday and my batt with Super usage 3-4 days is normal.. of course with diferent ROM`s ones when i try diferen ROM i had around 24 hrs only battery lol for this reason from long time i use only Phoenix

I'm using NRG's latest Sense 2.5 WM6.5 build and battery life is nothing short of stunning.
Best battery life of all the ROMs I've used.

From the responses its obvious that all roms drain or don't drain as much or less as each other...
Energy always has his roms setup from fresh with 3G on and backlight on full not auto adjusted, turn these two off and you get a significant improvement on battery life.
Then you have to give the rom well over 24 hours chance before testing the battery drain, also most of our Touch HD's unless you have a new replacement battery are going to start suffering battery degrade in one way or the other...
Answer is no roms are better or worse than each other...

NRG ROMs with Sense 2.1 Are called PHOENIX 2 but now because the original Phoenix Thread is closed you can find this ROM in nergy Series.
The best builds and bug free are 21XXX now i use the Build from my signature and is super ROM that have only ONE BUG you cannot add new contact from the Manila DIALER but this is not a big problem for me for this reason i still use this BUILD also if you want Without any BUG i can tell you witch Build of that ROM is really free of Bugs.
Energy.BLACKSTONE.21891.Phoenix2_04.Feb.2010 this ROM is free of bugs the diference with my ROM 21898 30 March is that i like more tha lates Dialer who had the COntact image always on the center of the screen and in 30march Build are coocked the latest APP like Opera 10 and so on..
If its not problem for you this bug that you cannot add new contact from the dialer then with sure you need to flash with 21898 30 March build sense 2.1

I run Energy, I used Phoenix in the past but now I have Leo installed and the battery life is good. With Manila 2.1 interface and Win 21891 battery lasts longer, but I run manila 2.5 and Win 23554 and it still lasts a couple of days without recharging (I use 3G, check e-mail for 4 different accounts, use TomTom...).
Hope this helps in your choice.

Hi farkah, what does nueDynamicClock do? I read the descripsion but it doen't mention anything about battery usage. Did you install that nueDynamicClock and get your HTC HD run for 7 days straight?

i think you misunderstood
that program is used to set the processor speed
a lower processor speed means less power consumption

[Q] Newbie question about battery usage

Hi guys,
It is a question about battery used of cell standby and phone idle.
It seems they used pretty much percent of battery.
Is there any tweaks or settings to reduces the usage of these functions ?

Root your phone. Uninstall all the useless programs. And use Autorun manager. Other than that i don't think there is anything for "idle" and "standby". Those are the times your are not doing anything at all.

Another good trick is to turn off 3g when not in use as it chew a bit of battery life. If im being vigilantand not using my phone to heavily I can get an extra day out of usage by doing this

I personally will try out a 1900 mAh battery from China.
The battery life is pretty annoying.

If that last longer share with us. But i don't know about China stuff. There are these good stuff and there are these.. You know. Be careful when charging though, i saw a chinese stuff got blown up.

For what I know, we cant enjoy the phone if get too sensitive with the battery.
Check the link in the previous post but what I say is 1 day batt is fine compared to laptops or netbooks.
