Hi, I flashed this new 2.32 ROM (my own build) without any problem, but there is ActiveSync permanently running. I try many ways to disable it, but no success, it starts after while again. So is there any way how to disable it? I went back to previous 1.40 ROM version, where this problem doesn't exist... ActiveSync in this version starts only when Jade is connected to PC via ActiveSync... Thanx

good luck
excellent, the first link worked pretty well, activesync defeated!
The only thing is that automatically will create a welcome mail in the outlook inbox and apparently it is not anywhere. Look for that inbox and delete it.

Please help. I flashed 2.16.9.x and now ActiveSync doesn't work anymore, it connects all the time. PDA doesn't show activesync syncronization icon.
I tried to flash another versions of ROM, but it didn't help.
The problem may lie with the PC as opposed to the PDA. Have you tried a remove / re-install of AS4.1 on the PC?

Fair enough, I was just trying to help. Perhaps if you had stated that in your original text I would not have provided such an "Obvious" answer. I will leave it up to others now to take guesses as to what you "might or might not have done"......

Try to make your computer or laptop restore on earlier date then since it started. I had once this problem i don't know but sometimes it with the system files in computer missing then the problem occurs.
Although my ActiveSync works almost fine after the same rom-upgrade, I encounter its strange behaviour sometimes (rear, not always!) - PDA slows down to a crawl right after you disconnect it from a desktop PC (either USB or Bluetooth). It becomes so terribly slow that it takes 20-30 sec to draw the Comm-manager window! then you better soft-reset, then it works just fine. Why am I... to prove that ActiveSync 4.1 is not quite stable with new ROM version 2.16. There is a bug somewhere, and it has to be reported to i-Mate firmware writers.
Have you followed Microsoft rules about configuring firewalls for ActiveSync 4.1? Does it create a network connection 169.254.2.1 on a desktop PC?
Thank you guys, but I guess my case is harder:
1. I have firewall switched off. I didn't change any setting in computer. I just flashed new ROM.
2. I flashed my original ROM, but it didn't help.
3. I tried to sync on several computers and had the same result.
By the way I cannot return to original ipl/spl, I don't know how to do that.
Today I visited repairing service's office and they've prooved me my device is not broken, it synchronizes succesfully via USB on their computer.
So, the problem is related to my computer(s). If I'll find something I report in this thread.
it probably has to do with one of the cabs you installed that are on your original extrom or someone elses. Most people who have had problems after the upgrade on an 8125 (Cingular) have installed cingular cabs from the old rom. I had to to figure out the MMS configuration and after I foundthe one that did my activesync no longer worked. after a reflash and only installing some of the default cabs that came with the new rom and manually configuring the mms and gprs I don't have any problems at all.
well maybe it is the version of activesync we are using when this does happen.
I'm running the ROM that came with the Cingular 8125, and it does the same thing ... 1 in 10 times after disconnecting the device from the PC, the 8125 slows to a crawl, and the only way to recover is a soft-reset. 9 out of 10, it works fine.
OS ROM: 1.8.11.1 WWE
Radio: 01.09.11
Protocol: 4.0.13.20
not overclocked
soon to be ROM upgraded (hopefully)

I use 4.1 for a long time.
I didn't install anything on my pda. It happens even after hard reset. I even tried to flash original rom. In all cases ActiveSync displays "Connecting...", pda even doesn't display sync icon.
I tried to sync with standalone notebook and it was successfull. I'm really shocked why pda cannot sync with my desktop(s). It seems to me it could happen after some windows unattendant updates or something, I'm still investigating...
I have Qtek 9100 and have installed rom 2.16.9 and i also have activesync 4.1 refusing connection to my pda. After some googling i have found this interesting site: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/activesync/tshoot-as4x-connection.htm
I did cheks described there and found out that activesync doesnt have any network adapters and/or activity. USB driver installs, but it, again, doesnt generate anything. Maybe problem is there?
Ehhh... I even cannot return to any previous rom version, because there is no rapi for updaters to work with
reverting back to original cingular rom
How would you go back to original ROM using Lokiwiz tool if your active sync was working OK?
Thanks,
Each time I have done HARD RESET--I uninstalled active sync from my computer AFTER DELETING PARTNERSHIP. I deleted PC from Active sync on my 8125. I deleted all files on my computer related to active sync using search.
I then reinstalled active sync 4.1, being sure WINDOWS FIREWALL was off. I went thru all the steps with my TREND MICRO VIRUS PERSONAL FIREWALL EXCEPTIONS listed on http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx
and I got it to work (1st install always takes time for calendar)
Hope that helps--it seems ridiculous to have redo all that-but so be it.
I'd like to know how to get back to CINGULAR ROM as I am still in 30 day return window.
Well there is a magical combination of buttons as described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386 (somewhere around 2-4 page):
Voice+Camera + Reset. Colored bootloader shows up. After that you can connect it to usb and run .exe with rom you want.
The problem with me is that i dont use any 3rd party firewall (i have hardware router for my connections)
reverting back to original cingular rom
You don't think there would be a problem going DOWN in ROM'S?
Do I need to UNLOCK again first?
I must confess. I did (i think veeery lucky) sucseded in running activesync. Altough what was the cause i cannot say. I reverted to 1.6.7 version of the rom. and reinstall everyting several times. and reboted several time. and i saying loud magical words. (and deleted checkpoint vpn software that i have installed). AND it worked!
Maybe trouble was in vpn soft, but it worked pre 4.1 activesync. So... Here is my experience.

Thank you very much for this link, it helped me to find the reason. It's not new ROM fault. The Microsoft Firewall Client (ISA 2000 component) on desktop blocks communication between PDA and desktop. I disabled it and now ActiveSync works fine.
Thank you again.
Your Are Welcome
Everything works fine.
But i cant use activesync 4.5 to sync my contacts and so on
(i can install programes but it doesnt sync the conntacts.)
If i disable advanced network functionality the xda freezes
and the computer shows an unknwon usb device.
Can someone help me ?
Sorry for being a noob.
Everything is fine for me, are you sure that you flash the rom correctly as ordered ?
Sync problem
often can`t detect pda synchronitation . it`s show sync problem . Any way to fix it ?
I told you I don't have any problem which mentioned may be you have to reflash your rom, and start from the beginning.
Or first, you can delete your pairing connection with the pc, reinstall your active sync. And try to pair again. If you said "often", I hope this is not because of your hardware problem.
make sure your device is powered on ( the back light is on)..i also get it some time (only if i shut it by pressing Power Button at top)
Himalaya's USB Port is allergic to hubs
Don't try to use an USB Hub to connect the Himalaya to your PC. Always use a direct connection. This solved the problem for me.

Got exactly the same problem, since upgraded to WM6 (Tofclock Fresh ROM) Activesync never finds the PDA. Tried really everything possible, doesn't work. But 'cause there are some beautiful tools like WM5Storage or PIMBackup I don't care about ActiveSync.
May be its - as mentioned here - the USB Connection over USB Hub. But it's an internal one in my case so I can't proof.
And I don't think that the workaround for this problem is a ROM-ReFlash 'cause everything else works fine.
So long
HonkBB
i have same sync problem
i have upgraded from wm2003se to WM2006 AKU7.0 RAMDisk-40MB Pagepool size-24MB for Himalaya and everything is good but no activesync.
i have reflashed 4 times now and still no good.
any ideas???

did you do this step
hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.
hi
yep done all that, NO-YES-YES i think the prep work before upgrade did'nt work..
maybe i need to goto wm5 then wm6, but wm5 was too slow for me to use.
a lot of laptops actually have one set of usb ports that are registered as a powered hub and often these don't really have enough power across all the ports... jst an idea...
active-sink!!!!!!!
hi all xperts,
lemme start with my Thanx to Tof the great and Helmi who have made this possible for the good ol' Hima..
Now i need some help -
I installed this package close to a month back with all instructions point by point.
Activesync was the problem..
Today i thot i'll increase the storage space - ran the unlock and then realised the Hima Doc tool is a exe file and i'll hv to have a valid activesync connection before i can get that worked.
Then i thot, i'll reload WM6.0
Again, started in Boot loader - Got the Serial Screen with v1.06 in bottom, connected my device to run the software -
I'm redoing the flash now - wish me luck guyz!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to connect so i can update to the newest swedish rom released.
And of course everything else
When i connect the usb to phone i get the alternatives "Activesync" or "disc-unit" or something like that.
I choose activesync.....it connects but after a few seconds it disconnects.
It will show up on my pc but just disconnects right after....it has always worked before.....i really don't know what to do.
Then i use the other alternative to connect.....it seems stable but it is extremely slow.....one mp3 at 3mb takes about 40minutes to upload to phone.
I have the "Official Update 1.37.401.3" installed but i want install the newer one.
Please help me.
My usb cords i have tried using is flawless....everything works.
Im running Vista Ultimate Retail.
Please help me through this ordeal....I'm almost at the point that I'm going tp buy another phone and leave htc forever
I really want this phone to work. It worked before actually...It might be when I updated with the Official Update 1.37.401.3 or exactly a few days after that my problems appeared.
REALLY NEED YOUR HELP XDA-PEOPLE!
Have you tried connecting it while it's in bootloader mode? If all you want to do is flash the ROM that's the best option.
One question, why did you "upgrade" to the 1.37 ROM? Isn't that what came on the device?
Open active sync (it allready might e open as u tried to connect) and go to menu (on the right) select connections and see if u have use usb connection enabled.

Yes it is enabled.
Windows XP uses Active sync V.4.5.0
Windows Vista uses Windows Mobility center:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/features/mobility-center.aspx
First check your advanced energy-settings (control panel, system)
To make sure put everything on 10 minutes, as these settings will reset as soon as your new (and faster 1.93) rom is installed.
Connect your phone and make sure you select the sync option, not the external disc option. Make a backup.
Then use an unsigned hard-spl if you have firmware 1.37 or higher. (signed won't work) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400950
When finished install the rom you like.
I Resolved It!
I managed to flash my phone with the new swedish official rom.
So I can connect now.
Thanx for helping me.
The problem seemed to be in Windows Vista...it wouldn't allow my HTC to keep beeing connected for too long
I resolved the problem on my other computer.
And I love the speed of the new rom by the way ...It gets better and better all the time.
Thanx again XDA Developers.

I used my other computer (Win XP) to flash my htc diamond with the newest swedish rom...and now it will even work connecting to my vista computer.
Good luck with your phone
Hello,
i have a big problem and i dont know how to solve it.
1) I flashed the OliNex 1.56 using the HSPL method.
2) Flashed Xnor 1.4 Rom
3) Flashed LIA 14.5 Rom
4) Flashed a stock Rom(O2 6.1 Radio 1.12)
5) Flashed back to LIA 14.5(Installed Radio 1.14 and Rillphone 1.14)
6) Want to flash to L3.5, but no connection any more and stll charging over the usb cable
7) Hard reset, nothing changed
Yesterday the connection to activesync was available, but today the phone still charging but the connection to active sync is lost.
I set the phone to bootloader to flash a other rom, but the phone does not detect the usb connection (no usb at the bottom).
Hope you know what to do...
Thx

Also tried, still the same...
I`ve installed WM 6.5 in my Qtek 9090, and when i put in dock to syncronize with my pc, said that the USB port is no longer availabile, chose another way to syncronize, or install a synchronazation software from the getting started disc... but i dont have this disk. what can i do to sync my phone with pc?
first of all, perform a hard reset by pressing power+reset+camera+record, in the menu that appears, set
Enable Kitl NO
Format Storage YES
Clear Registry Hive YES
using the camera and record buttons, confirm with the mail button.
make sure you delete older sync partnerships on your pc, you need to set up a new one.
if bot those actions did not work, try another usb port or finally flashing the rom again or maybe another rom, there are certain builds out there, that have sync issues, which one did you pick exactly?
Same problem
I have just updated a SPV M2000 to WM6.5 and cannot sync
I have tried a virgin PC running XP and this doesn't communicate. The USB connection is recognised by the PC but neither active sync works nor does the file manager recognise the PDA.
The PDA says that the USB port is a problem.
Can I still reupgrade? Maybe should I try an earlier version?
Is there a "known good" version of WM6.5 for SPV M2000?
Thanks for your help
hi and welcome to the forum.
what rom are you using (build number, chef)?
are you sure you followed the right upgrade procedure to the point? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4706441&postcount=2
especially the hard reset at the end is important and might help your case here.
yes, you will be able to upgrade/downgrade to change the rom, as long as activesync 4.5 is installed on a windows xp pc. that brings the needed driver for the device to connect, also if you can't sync.
there are many good wm6.5 roms here, just go to the blueangel rom development section and look at the different releases.
Same Problem sorted
Problem sorted.
Before you replied I tried one of the ROMs you recommended and Eureka.
This forum is really useful - thanks
I wonder if you can point me in the right direction. My real reason for upgrading the Blue Angel was to see if it would run Tom Tom Navigator 7 which needs WM6. It won't. I simply get the answer Program not for this device even though I am now running quite successfully WM6.5.
