I want to know how to change a T-mobile MDAIII from German version to English version, actually i many meesage over forum, but i want to know how can i extrace a existing German version rom from MDAIII to a file for backup - just in case it got any problem during flash ROM error. then is that just follow your instruction to download a English rom, then flash to MDAIII?
what tool and how to do it?
Where can i find a new rom?
Then i need to download what tool to flash a new rom?
Many thx for all your help, becaue i face this problem for a long time, and afraid to do it.
becaus i'm newbie and skillless on PDA.

I just upgraded my Qtek 9100 with the latest WWE rom.
Quite obviously, I forgot to backup the dictionary files
"\Windows\AutoComplete\statdict.dat"
"\Windows\AutoComplete\dictprob.dat"
"\Windows\mssp2_it.lex"
"\Windows\custom.dic"
"\Windows\autocorrect.txt"
Is it possible to extract these files from a rom image without having to actually flash it back to the device?
Or maybe someone with the italian rom could post them here? I would really appreciate that.

I see that there are dumps which are based on the german WM6 version but transformed to english and russian. Is there no dump from a german 'O2 terra' which can be used on a P4350?
As far as i know, we have had a try - But it did (not?) work out well.
2 Phones are bricked and we are waiting for HTC to announce the official WM6 upgrade by the end of June.
You can have a look at the other Threads, but personally, i don´t recommend you to upgrade without having your Phone CID unlocked !

The russian version is absed on teh German TErra-dump made by me.
And yes - you can flash it using ASERGs method.
BUT I bricked my device trying to combine the wing AND the terradump to get a german wing version. I forgot to convert the rgu files back.
But using the Terra-os i could flash from Aserg back to terra - before beginning to cook.

I've been using Windows Mobile devices a long time. At the beginning with my Touch Dual, there are few roms that passed the device.
Now I can call a Touch Pro2 my own. But the big problem is that there aren't any stock roms available for flashing if any "upgrade"-rom doesn't work or doesn't work good.
So i dumped my TP2, German, Stock, and would ask you, if there is a fine cook with with a german kitchen (if it is necessary to use a german kitchen with a german dump, don't know) to build at least a stock rom.

Hi,
is this the original ROM, as released from T-Mobile in the new Vario V ? My touchscreen hangs and I wanted to flash it with the original before bringing in to T-Punkt

This is not a rom. It's just a rom dump. And this dump is from my Touch Pro2. It's a stock swiss german rom dump without any brandings of a provider.
And with this dump the cooks can build som flashable roms with their kitchens.

It is not flashable until HardSPL is exist.
it is version 1.19.407.0 (51489)
cmon people, nobody cares what WM61 OS is in it, ROM version is the important number.

You can't flash this ROM because of the missing HardSPL! You can only flash a real HTC ROM by GoldCard method! Search and you'll find the answer!

the reconstructed rom dump - will need hardspl to flash.

why do you need it, as a backup rom when hardspl comes out?
I want to extract some things from a french rom.
I have a german phone and an english rom now with success installed (thanks QMAT).
I have many registry values modified (keyboard, regional settings, ...) and have now a french windows mobile but the included software not.
I have a french unbranded TP2. I will try to dump the rom as soon as possible this week end. Tell me if you find what you want before I start .
