iGO My way 2006 Plus on diamond

How to install igo 2006 on diamond ? igo 8 work but I want igo 2006 ?

The same with my Diamond.
I could make iGo8 run with the sys.txt tweak but there is no v.8 maps to me so i need to use myway 2006.
Could anyone please confirm that is a Diamond ruinning igo myway 2006?

Well, when i click on the iGo 2006 icon that "running something" animated icon popup for a sec and nothing happens after that.
I have also tried some tricks found into other sites like create a sys.txt with a GFX setting but i was not happy too.
Have you seen any Diamond runs the Igo MyWay 2006 anytime?

Are you running the HTC Home Plugin? I know that if I run the HTC Home Plugin on my Tilt I cannot launch iGo 2006. If I disable HTC Home it launches fine.

I have just flashed the DiamondProject V2 ROM and installed AdvConfig 2.1 + boinger´s .51 and iGo 2006.
I guess i have only TF3D as a today plugin.

did you use storage card trick ? or edited text?
my guess was it was the today plugin ?

I disabled the TF3D in the TODAY settings items and softreset the Diamond.
Unfortunally nothing changed with the iGo 2006 problem.

I guess many people is running iGo8 and the 2006 version was left behind...8) Maybe.

After first instalation of IGO2006 on my Diamond it worked. Next day I tried to use the program and did not work. Tried every possible setup and reinstalation and never worked again. So I had to upgrade to IGO8, which works fine!

I just tried OnCourseNavigation thats is similar to the iGo 2006 and the software crashes after launch the same way iGo does.
Oh my god...
I will have to live with Destinator... Ugly, slow and buggie... 8((

Last attempt. Tried MioMap 3.3 and the same and old "nothing happens" after launch.
At least Tomtom7 and Destinator7 are running but i really prefer Igo interface.

For igo 2006 you need some crack to emulate an SD Card, it requires a special feature embedded in the sd driver. (copy protection)
The new version of IGO 8 doesn't need this.

iGO 8 WORKS OK

iGO 8 ver.: PDA 8.0.0.44366 works perfect on my diamond (only change the sys file for landscape mode and storage name), and the gps is fast, so without problems.
The diamond cant turn display from portrait to landscape, only in gallery and browser. Needed a plus soft to do it, or this is incompatibility 4 this function?

Really ? Jeese If i`ve had known this before ... it would safe my life !!!! Learn to search my friend ... there are several and by several I mean at least 3+ topics on that. Yes iGO 8 is working long time - for at least three quarters of month and as far as I remember i didn`t have any problems running it in landscape mode.

Dhat-s what I have too. And it-s not working. But the program file is "application.dat". maybe I should rename it to "IGO8.exe"?

Well, i relaced "app="%SDCARD%/iGO8" with "app="Storage Card/iGO8"'
and it worked perfectly

msdn is only usable in USA and display meteo and traffic information. Should be disable in sys.txt

Nav N Go IGO8 v8.3.2.64873 working on the Rafael?
I just installed this version on htc touch hd, and then i see navigator in landscape view.
Anyone knows how view it also in portrait mode? I know to have a change sys but how I don't know. Thank in advance.

I have it working but I'm trying to find a good skin with the 480x640 resolution and can't really find one.
It looks like the nicest one that supported that resolution was the Ultra skin but it hasn't been updated for the 8.3.xx versions yet.

I have the igo 8 v8.3.2.64873 working on my touch pro in the USA, works good, only thing it is picking up EU satalites and giving me UK time zode even tho change it to US eastern time. Gives local time correct tho. have UK map and North America maps on touch pro because I live both

Do they have this program for the USA or only for Europe? Also is it free, one time fee, or monthly fee to use it. I think my Pioneer F90BT Car Navigation runs on this iGO Software.

Suggestions on GPS software & map pack for the fuze

As stated above, I'm looking for suggestions on which gps software to use and which map pack to get. Currently I'm interested in acquiring the US map pack and thailand's. Since I'm also a newbie in winmo, I do not know of a gps software that is trusted by the majority of consumers.
If you have a particular software you prefer and are willing to share its name, do reply, otherwise thanks for reading

I use Garmin XT and Google Maps
I tried TomTom and their free map, but the GPS took while to get a fix

I've used TomTom on several devices with no problems. You'll have to check their site for cost of maps. As for acquiring GPS signal, just do a search for the numerous threads here on that. Primary solutions are disabling aGPS, disabling GPS logging, and using GPSTest to acquire first.

Garmin XT is what I use and its awesome.

I second iGo 8... I love it and its regarded as one of the best GPS softwares (that Ive seen)

I would most definatelly say Garmin Mobile XT is by far the bets IMHO, because it is now integrated with google search you get live information from google anyime you might need it! among other things like gas prices etc, all included at no extra cost, and I don't believe these are included with tom tom I can't say for iGO

Is there any way around buying the $99 microSD from Garmin? Have our genius chefs made it available to us in some other way? If not, I'll but it...reluctantly.

This has been discussed a number of times already, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets closed soon.
Garmin is great IMO. It is just as accurate has their standalone GPS units (I've used it side-by-side with a Nuvi for a 600+ mile trip). As mentioned before, you can get gas prices, weather, etc all included. The only downside for me is that it doesn't do TTS to read the street names.
TomTom is nice and highly recommended on this site as well. For me, the most recent maps I could find weren't updated enough for my area and didn't have a few subdivisions around me, where the latest Navteq maps did.
iGo is great as well, but I have one complaint I've found with it. I'm using the latest 8.3.2 version with the latest Navteq maps. TTS works great, graphics are great. It is VERY customizable with lots of skins out there. The only thing that bugs is me the ETA time always seems to be off for long trips, and I don't know how to fix it. For example, this past weekend I went on a 300 mile trip. Garmin showed me arriving in about 5 hours while iGo showed it taking 6 hours. Both were set for the exact same route. While driving with iGo, it would shorten the ETA by about 2 minutes every 30-45 minutes I was driving, so that by the time I was within 30 minutes of my destination the arrival time was finally accurate. If I could fix that issue I would use it over Garmin. The ETA is fine on short trips. I've only tried it on a few interstate trips, but they were all on the same route to my parent's house or my house (depending on which way I was going).

IGO 8 not working on newly flashed ROM

OK, I think I've exhausted my search for answers and came up empty, so I'll make my first post.
I recently flashed a new ROM to my AT&T Tilt. I was running Dutty's 6.1 and just flashed the PC Ultimate V17 with WM6.5. My radio is 1.65.24.36 in case anyone was wondering. Anyway, everything runs fine on my phone, except one thing. When I reinstall my IGO 8 after the flash, there is a problem. When I select the program from the program list after installation, the wait circle flashes for a second and nothing happens. The app never runs. I have done everything the same as when I flashed Dutty's. It worked great on Dutty's, but not the PC Ultimate I flashed the other day. If anyone knows how to make it work, please let me know. Sorry if you have already done this, but did you disable A-GPS?

The Assisted GPS is disabled (by default but I made sure anyway). I wouldn't know if the GPS was working on it anyway since the entire program does not run once it is selected. It acts like it starts then nothing. I don't want to go back to another ROM since I like this one, but I want my GPS to work as a stand alone and not use any data connections. I'm in Turkey and data sucks up my kontours (prepaid units), so I try not to use it.

Have you tried things like GPSTest, or any *other* GPS software to make sure the GPS is working at all?

I saw the same thing happen on an HTC Touch Pro (Raphael). It was resolved with some changes to the sys.txt file in the iGofolder.
Maybe check with iGO's forums to see if they can help?

If you have HTC Home running you will have to uncheck it from the today screen, soft reset, and then run igo8.

Well, I verified my GPS is working and it's picking up sats just fine with Google maps. With the Ultimate PDA Rom, there is no HTC Home, so I can't de-select it. It only has the Diamond and Windows Default. I was looking online and there was mention of having to edit the sys.txt file. Hell, there are only 2 entries in my sys.txt file, so I don't know what it would be changed to. I'm going to flash the updated rom this weekend and see what happens, but if anyone knows what else to do, please let me know. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with my ROM (see sig). No HTC home.
Not GPS-related, as the app won't even start loading/show a splash screen. I got it to run a couple of times straight after a soft reset, but as soon as I've done something on the phone it won't load anymore.

Try the following sys.txt (just copy and paste into notepad and rename sys.txt):

No luck for me. I of course replaced the sys.txt both in program files\igo8 and storage card\igo8, and even did a soft reset for the fun.

Same with me, no luck with that sys file. I put it in both folders as well. It ran once, then not again. When it did run the one time, it ran with 3d topographical maps and not the standard street maps. Now, it won't even start up to the splash screen.

Well... after about 6 months I decided to change my ROM, installed Garmin DK10 and IGO works perfectly well. I guess it must really be a ROM problem.
