Hi, I would like to ask a question about x1 phone, where is the boot loader file? Is in the Sector 0 of the built-in NAND flash? Coz I am worry that the gadget will not go into the boot loader mode if I read/write the entire NAND flash especially the sector 0 data.
Many thanks for people who answer out!
Anybody there who can help out about this issue?
Q:\PDA\cooking\itsutilsbin-20080602>pmemdump.exe 0xa8000000 524288 SPLdumped.nb
CopyProcessMemoryToFile(00000042, a8000000, 00080000, SPLdumped.nb)
i heard, that this is saving your bootloader.
Many thanks for ur reply okokur.
Lets assume that way is working for the saving data of bootloader, but can i restore the saved data of bootloader if the Sector 0 data is destroyed (it even can't go into first bootloader mode, there is no Active sync for it)?
Any idea for that?

If it wont go into bootloader then I think you're stuck, and it's a replacement device. This is another reason why we tend to use "hardSPL"..
however it might be best to ask in the general "questions and answers" thread or dev&hacking.
I did think mtty might help, but it needs to access bootloader from what I understand..

Hi,
Today I tried to unlock my bootloader on Xperia T, because I recently downloaded android 4.3. When the bootloader was unlocked, I tried rooting the cell through usb debug. But it didn't work, I decided to look at it tomorrow, or at a later point. But when I restarted my phone, it was been factory reset. Some of the photos were recovered, but ALL my notes are gone and a lot of apps are gone, I never chose to format my phone or anything.
Is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: my phone contacts seem unlinked from WhatsApp too... So the contacts are there, but WhatsApp doesn't recognise them.... I think the internal memory and the phone memory are corrupting each other
EDIT2: the contacts don't even seem to be there now, not even on Google, while I am 100% sure I saved the contacts to my Google account
I never heard of this issue before, but a bootloader unlock always factory resets the phone. Are you sure that your bootloader can be unlocked, and that it is still unlocked now? For unlock just follow the instructions on the official Sony page, they're clear enough.
I don't know a method for recovering data after factory reset, other than restoring your nandroid backup.

I am sure the bootloader unlock is possible, it might be that I unlocked the bootloader, while it was unlocked already. I don't know if this is the problem.

Did you unlock your bootloader before? If not, then it is still locked. However, the status now is a bit unsure Did you check in the service menu? ('call' *#*#7378429#*#* (*#*#SERVICE#*#*) and check Service Info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status, what does it say?)

Thanks for the reply, I did this, my phones bootloader is UNLOCKED, I was confused and did it again, so i double unlocked the bootloader, this seems to be the problem. Is there any way to get the data back?

Well, good to see your bootloader is indeed unlocked
If you didn't make any backups, there is almost no way to recover your data. The only thing I can think of is trying to recover something with data recovery software like Recuva (from Windows, not an Android app), but you should stop using your phone immediately, because if sectors on SD or internal storage are overwritten with new data it diminishes the chances of recovery of old data.
Now would be a good time to start backing up regularly, or at least before you start flashing roms, unlocking things, etc. There is a reason why we say 'always make a nandroid backup!'

I am afraid that I lost my data. I am going to try a root in the afternoon, I will update this post if any problems occur
Thanks for the help and replies so far!
Need a little help here. I have the AT&T HTC One, and I'm pattern locked out of it. I got in trouble and my parents "grounded" me for a month by changing the pattern. That way I can still receive calls but can't text or do anything else on the phone. Unfortunately my dad is pretty tech-savvy and also changed my Google account password, so I can't unlock it that way.
Is there any way that I can get in, or am I just locked out? Unfortunately USB debugging isn't turned on on the phone, so I haven't been able to ADB into it. I also need to get in without losing any of my data. If anyone can help please let me know.

LOL, that's what you get for being naughty.
only way to disable it is to go into the bootloader and factory reset, but that's going to wipe your data too, other than that, wait till your un-grounded and get the pattern off your dad.
Just flash another rom. Pictures music etc will be saved. You just lose the text messages and app data which isn't saved on the SD card partition. That's what I would do.
Dead Thread but oh well

Well that's the M7's downside: It doesn't have an SD Card slot.

he wasn't referring to an sd card slot but to the sdcard partition (/sdcard) which is a symlink for /data/media/0
Lets say your BL is already unlocked and like above, your dad change your pattern code, you can simply re-flash the rom (/system partition) and your /data/media/0 will not be wiped. So yeah, it's a way to "bypass" the unknown pattern without loosing any user data.
If your bootloader is locked then it's another story since /data/media/0 will be wiped during the BL unlock in your attempt to reflash your /system partition. That will still get you rid of the unknown pattern but also all your files...
Hi guys I have a problem, I had in my hands a p7 of an old owner who does not know how he had cleared the imei and the cell did not take more, never mind if it could not restore it I would have used only with wifi but last night in an attempt to insert a hypothetical backup imei think I damaged part of the system and the bootloader because now the phone in question after the restart does not turn any more, and the LED flashes twice green then red twice and twice again green
Any key combination I try not do anything and if I connect it to the PC is detected with an unknown device name in Chinese ._. how can I rearrange the tuttooo ?? you help me prrgo T.T
thanks in advance to everyone I apologize if I had to put it in the post modding but I'm not sure where it belongs thanks
No one can help me?? D:
Do you have adb installed on your pc?
If so, is it working and does it show the serial number of the phone when typing adb devices?

Depends on how you were trying to restore imei. Describe step by step what have you done?
i've use 5iromtoolbox on my p7 with root and flash a corrupt imei backup (i think it was of another huawei phone) i don't think it can be bring at hardbrick :'(
P7 keeps imei in other partition than 5iromtoolbox makes backup of. Shortly, if you could make backup with this tool before and then try to restore it, you were just reflash some partition without any affect on imei but and without any consequences for device. But you have flashed partition from absolutely other device...
Blinking led means that some partition is corrupted or even maybe partition table. If it could be some partition that can be reflashed via fastboot, you could have a chance to unbrick it. But it's not.
Now the only way to unbrick it - is full reflash of whole memory using some manufacturer's hardware tool. So you're right, it's hardbricked.
Bring it to service. But I presume they will you offer replace of whole board that is comparable with price of the new device.
yes...there isn't no solution to flash new partition unless hardware flash tool? or ther is a guide to flash it (i think no)?
Hi,
Could somebody with root access make a test and check if it is possible to recover deleted files (using one of available apps like disc digger) from build-in solution "File safe"?
I have contacted support and the said "NO". Would do it but it will void warranty so I'm kindly asking someone who already has rooted the phone.
I'm just wondering to do this test by my own. However 2 questions rised:
1. To have unlocked BL - do I need a code or just enabling OEM unlock is enough ?
2.As unlock of BL will erase whole userdata partition is it worth it to recover then files that have been deleted twice? Chances from 0 to 100%?
Thanks for replay
I foolishly upgraded to 9.0.5 with the OEM method instead of flashing as in times past. Sure enough it gave me some nonsense that my phone was corrupt and that a factory reset was necessary. Sadly lots of valuable pictures were on my phone and I'm scrambling to root my phone again to try DiskDigger since that appears to be the best app from searches.
Unfortunately the tutorial I used in the past doesn't seem to work or apply very well now. ADB Fastboot doesn't seem to recognize my device for some reason. Any tips would be appreciated.
According to https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/thread-t3333345 requests for help should go to the help forum. Requests for help must not go to the how-to forum. You should ask the moderators to move this thread to the correct forum.

First of all: your data is lost - unrevertable. Diskdigger is for restoring accidentally deleted media files. If you format and reencrypt the data partition all data is lost from the partition. The only way to restore your data is a backup of media files (not in nandroids).
What do you mean by "ADB Fastboot"? For adb you need to enable adb in dev opts, for fastboot you need to boot in fastboot mode (aka bootloader mode: hold "vol up" and "power" to power on). These two are different animals.
If the devices doesn't show up in fastboot mode, you need to debug the pc host first. A starting point for win would be the device manager and the event log. If the drivers are installed correctly, you need to walk through the physical conmection: ports, cable, dirt in the usb-c jack etc.

Guess I'm SOL with my pics of my son. It's ok. I only have myself to blame. I started enabling backups to Google Photos. Something I was never a fan of. Thanks though. I'll still be interested in rooting my 3T with 9.0.5 since this phone still has plenty of life and takes great pics.

I'm completely with you on g's backup service! Nowadays you get a high quality usb-c 128Gb stick for around 25 € or $, for 40 bucks a 256 Gb one (i.e. sandisk Ultra Dual USB-Stick, Typ-C (SDDDC2-016G-G46)). I strongly recommend getting one for every user of a non-sdcard device - it saves my arse more then once! nandroids, titanium backups, media, etc all go there.
Hope someone threw some light on this to give some tips to root OP 3T running 9.0.5 !

I don't know, what you mean by "I too struck in same state". The issue with not being able to flash a custom recovery ("DATA TRANSFER Failure") is completely different from not being able to connect to the device in fastboot mode at all ("Fastboot doesn't seem to recognize my device") and loosing the content of userdata if blindly updating the fw.
Hijacking a thread with a completely different issue is considered bad manners.

If you hijack a thtead with a completely different issue, the probability is high, that you don't get answered. Impatiently insisting on getting an answer in the hijacked thread doesn't increase the probability of getting an answer... Showing bad manners twice, doesn't make good manners.

You're right ,friend..But the Title of discussion is " Best TUtorial to Root OP 3T ,OOS 9.0.5.And I'm too asking the same..
Or the Topic Starter might have given some different topic..
I think you might too see the title of the discussion first, it is about what ? I'm too struck in Rooting OOS 9.0.5.and I too said the same. and Thought somehow to root it by all means..
If the topic starter diverted means What I can do about that!

You aren't stuck with rooting - you're stuck trying to flash in fastboot. While rooting may depend on being able to flash in fastboot, you're not actually having issues with acquiring root yet.
And, as I mentioned before, don't post the same question in different threads.
