[Q] Windows Media Player Mobile library - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hi everybody,
I'm asking you a question about the library in WMP :
I'm flashing ROMs for a while and it's always the same problem, when you start the player and choose My Music > All Music , in some ROMs the songs are sorted by title (A to Z) and in others ROMs, it's sorted by albums.
So, I'd like to know how to change that.
I've already searched in many phone categories but I didn't found anything.
Sry for my aproximative english...

Quick and easy help ,,, duplicates in play lists + ringtones Media Player

Hi!
I have searched, and am still doing.
I am trying to find the thread that explains how to make Media Player and Audio Manager look for music in, for example, memory_card/music only.
I have duplicates of everything. Interesting, one file shows the album art and the other doesn't !

WM6 Media Player Library Listing Contributing Artist

I know my post count is low, but I did a lot of searching first and couldn't find anything (I'm new here, but not new to forums).
I am using WMP in WM6 to play my music and I've noticed that under the "Artist" category listing in my Library, it lists everyone from the Album Artist tag as well as the Contributing Artist tag. This drives me nuts because it ends up with a ton different artists and combinations of multiple artists listed.
Is there any way to get WMP to only list the Album Artist tag under the "Artist" category in the Library. I can't find a setting in the options, but maybe there is a registry setting I can change?
If it matters I've got a Tilt running the AT&T WM6 rom.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

I don't have the answer to your problem, I'm afraid, but a related issue I thought I might add here:
I can't seem to figure out how to change artist/album info in WMP on my device, yet somehow it seems to change it on some of my files (although the info was already there . . . weird?!??). I usually transfer whole albums at a time directly from my computer into the library folder on my storage card (bypassing the WMP sync function); any ideas why WMP mobile would change my ID tag info, and how I can keep it from doing so?
Hi Pete,
I don't know if there is a way to solve the problem the way you want it, but I keep my music library managed by making playlists using a tool called Playlisteditor. Making a playlist only costs a second and it is a way to solve your problem.

No, it isn't. The point of using WMP anyway is the library, which lists every contributing artist combination as a separate artist.
Album Artist: Something
Artist ("contributing"): Something/Featured artist/featured artist 2
It should group by album artist, if WMP can't even handle Microsoft's own WMP contributing artist sintax.

windows media player alphabetical listing? help me pleease

hey guys, i'm making the switch back from HTC audio manager(to buggy when using bluetooth headphones) to windows media player. My only concern is that when you go to all music, it seems like it groups the songs by artist...is there anyway to change this to an alphabetical listing? it makes finding songs quickly a bit of a pain.
See my post to your question asked in this thread.

Adding music playlists from PC to Captivate

Ok, so the last 3 phones I have had, I just hooked up and opened windows media player, dragged over a playlist and loaded to the phone. Now with the Captivate, I load a playlist from windows media player but the phone doesnt see the playlist, I now have to browse music by Albums or Artist. This is really annoying when some playlists have various artists, it makes a bunch of new playlists for each artist Is there a way around this, or a better music player. I have about 4K songs on the songs, a few hundred are all seperated now instead of being in their respective playlists. Im not gonna sit there and create playlists
I see a Playlists folder with the lists I loaded frmo windows media player, but I cant access these Playlists through the stock app
You posted in wrong section. Thiis is for Developement for Captivate not general questions or help questions about getting something to work.
try the stock player for the android, I know that recognizes the m3u's or try doubletwist
Sorry about the wrong section, but yea I tried the stock music player on my Captivate. Didn't recognize the playlists.
This is a known issue - many people are using alternate music players that do recognize playlists. The Captivate seems to store its "phone created" playlists in a DB somewhere.
What else do you recommend other than double twist.

Media Monkey is a great PC solution - I like it much much much better then Doubletwist - but you need a player that supports M3U playlists - most music players do.

[Q] Music albums ungrouped after update?

Hi,
I finally decided to update my Milestone from some ancient CM6 mod to the CM7 mod. Now I have some problems with the music player app. Songs in compilations are split into separate albums for each.
So, how can I convince the music player to just sort albums by album name?
fix your mp3 tags: set the compilation tag and/or set the album_artist to the same value for all tracks from the album (e.g. "V/A")
sounds like a really bad solution imho, something that software just should do, not me. i would need to go through thousands of mp3s.
really no better solution? is the a problem with all modern android phones?
Well, just use a software that will do it for you.
Gingerbread mediascanner doesn't care about folder structure, only tags. So you should better fix them.
I don't really want to change any of my MP3s. I guess I'll just get an Iphone then.
enjoy .
