ive got to replace the screen as i cracked it , a new screen is on the way, with all the neccessary tools, but whilst i have it bits what mods can i do/are there?
ive seen the one that allows you to tilt the screen more
so any ideas
if there were hardware mods I'm sure search would find them.
i have butnot no real sucess,
it hard when people want ot mod their kaiser for a specific reason, i know do what those reasons are, and not everyone has put in the tags or title "kaiser hardware Mod"
thats why i started this thread, to see if anyone know of any mods specifically, the i may know what ot search for.
here are the results
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=000825...e+mod&sa=Search&cof=FORID:0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
losts of posts with the words, kaiser, hardware and mod, 99% not about what im after but the rest are people asking for info on how to do a mod. and 1 that i have already found and mentioned

well i just wanna suggest something about the format of this forum. why is it not an organized forum as some other gsm forums are. It must be categorized according to different topics as software or hardware related etc. Also the search mechanism is not very good. whenever we try to search abt some topic it gives the result as some 2**** topics found and hense very difficuilt to find things of ur interest and that is why forum is getting too much messy day by day..............
So any solution to this problem is awaited
Biggest problem in boards are ppl like U. They don't bother looking for the right forum for their post. Often they double-post or even cross-post!
They galantly overlook the offered search function. Even if they try them (once), they claim, they couldn't find anything at all. When the search function is told to combine the search words (AND- instead of OR-search) it's very useful.
Preview is a thing posters like don't know how to use. They wonder what certain functions (e.g. mark up possibilities) are for, but if there's no button "DON'T CLICK ME! I MIGHT TELL YA SOMETHING ABOUT MARK UP!", they don't care whether they used it correct or not.
Hi!
I just installed "HTC Touch Home Plugin" onto my Herald. It creates an empty area in the home screen and shell32.exe crashes all the time.
I updated my device to WM6 using:
HTC_P4350_SVE_4.17.413.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe
and i installed the touch plugin using:
HTC_Touch_Home_Plugin.cab (1,46MB)
Any ideas why this is happening? I really want the touch plugin and not the SPB one so please dont link to other apps that do "almost" the same thing.
Theres probably 3-4 topics on the top 10 list containing questions and (some) answers to what you seek.
I noticed that you are reltativly new here (me too, somewhat ) so I will give the adwise I have been given and probably a couple thousand other new ones have recieved too....read, read, search, read, and when you feel that you are about to give up, read more.
When I first came to this forum, I wanted everyone with the knowlege I need to come to my rescue ASAP, when I had a problem with something, but thats not the way it works here.
Ofcourse most here are willing to help out, but when the same questions come a million times, then its just tiresome, and no one bothers to answer cause its been answered before.
But I will try a little adwise, if your HTC Home doesnt work, try another one, remove the one you installed, and install another one, maybe make some changes to some of the files after you have installed. I made (or made a repost) of how to make the homescreen work with your native language OS..

hi!
thanks for the reply, i incorrectly thought i had searched but i had searched for something else on this forum earlier. I apologize for making another post about this!
no need for apologizing, it was just info
Hi,
My new Kaiser/Tytn II/P4550 (why are there so many names for it!) is arriving tomorrow.
Anyway it's on Orange, and according to many posts i've seen on various forums from other orange users - it's missing the cool black htc home screen. For some reason orange see fit to remove loads of things (MSN Live Messenger, Remote Desktop to name a few) and change the home screen to their own version.
I've searched this forum for a "HTC Home Plugin" but there's over 1,000 posts on one thread with various versions/bugs etc.
What i'm trying in a rather long winded way to do is ask...
Where can i find the most stable, best version of the Black HTC home screen?? I dont want to ruin my new toy on the first day with a buggy/broken today screen!
I suggest someone should create a sticky thread with all the latest versions of the various .cabs and then lock it so it doesnt have thousands and thousands of posts -then just edit the download links as new versions of the .cabs become available?
Cheers...
Bradley, As much as what you have posted about seems sensible and logical there are in fact various different versions about for the different models and generally the 3rd party products and programs are better than the OEM HTC apps as they are far from infallible. Because of the very nature of us all wanting things how we want it rather than how other people think we should have it (case in point you not wanting orange's incarnation) it would be a logistics nightmare keeping things up to date and in one place (although search google and you get good results) especially as there are so many different strains out there.
For an example look in the kaiser cabs posting and duttythroy has done his best to accumulate a repository of working cabs for the kaiser however there are still a lot of bugs in some of the cabs and until people get that cab and fix it then resupply it everyone will be using different versions that they have fixed better than joe bloggs over there.
One thing also to bear in mind that the HTC Home plugin is different for different countries and roms, T-Mobile is different to HTC and AT&T so someone updating the t-mobile package cant update the at&t package because they dont have the phone or able to test it and some people are reluctant to because of reasons you yourself have given "I dont want to ruin my new toy on the first day with a buggy/broken today screen!" without people willing to test and break stuff nothing ever gets fixed and therefore it ends up being the same people doing all the work over and over again.
Have a search on the google search in the main forum pages for "HTC Home Kaiser" and you should find what your looking for.

do you not see the sticky called "Collection of Latest Cabs for kaiser"? It has exactly what you are asking for.
I'm new to the whole phone modding thing, but it looks to be close to modding my pc?
What I want to know is i see everyone has different a Rom buil etc. Whats the difference between them? I've added a few programs such as voice command, cube, audio manager, FTouchFLO, and a couple of others.
How can I get rid of WMP, TeleNav (replace with a free GPS program) and a few other things I don't like that came on it?
How can I make it a little faster and not so sluggish?
and whats RADIO?
Thanks in advanced.
radio is the software for the phone module which operate gsm/umts part of the device
I've got to say, I'm glad someone posted this. I've been looking around for a few days and I'm still pretty confused. While some of the stickies and wikis are semi-helpful, and I've read all of them that I could find, I'm suprised that there is not a wiki/sticky of the most popular roms, so far I've only really learned about Dutty's but I'd like to know more about the others before I start playing around with flashes.

Thats what got me started. Its probably the best thread with tons of info and links to other threads which explain more.
I hope it's not OT in this section, but I figured it belongs here more than to General...
I've been wondering for quite some time now...is there any guide for how to create the extended lockscreen for I9000 ROM? I've tried searching for it quite a few times, but never managed to find any info about it. Most of the posts mention something along the lines of "I think I saw one somewhere in thread X", but when trying to locate the actual guide, you usually end up going in circles and the guide is nowhere to be found neither here on XDA nor anywhere else.
So - is there any such guide? And if it isn't, could someone who knows how to make the extended menu perhaps spare a few words/tips/links? I could probably try to make a proper guide out of them once I'm succesful in creating the extended menu myself...
I notice there isn't many themes/ROMs that offer the extended menu. I think having a proper guide would benefit everyone - the extended menu is SO handy...

Oh, it's in Vibrant section...damn...never occured to me to actually look there. (Like I needed another proof that this splitting of Galaxy S forums into hundreds of subforums was a very bad decision...oh well...)
Thanks a lot!
