n00b question: - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

Say if i installed a custom ROM onto my xperia - if i plugged it into SEUS to update would it overwrite the current rom or would i have to manually install the official rom again?

It should over write the custom rom if there is an update available...

Download it from the original ROM thread and flash it (same way you flashed the UK rom).

and after that restore stock spl from the hard-spl thread to have it completely stock again (you need that for example if you want to return it for warranty). If you want to flash another rom again someday, you can leave hard-spl untouched.

Thanx a lot,
but there are many ruu version here and no one is like mine...
is it a problem?
if i do a nandroid, can i restore mine stock rom version after flash a cooked rom?
Thanx again
Which one is yours? You can flash a WWE RUU if you cant find yours in the list.
BTW, It is recommended to take a 1.XX RUU from that site, because 2.XX RUU's are Froyo RUU's, and, you will not be able to root them if you require it in the future (As of now).
As for a Nandroid Restore, if you had taken a Nandroid backup of the Stock ROM after Root, yes, you can restore it back and get back your Stock ROM from a Custom ROM. If not, then flashing the RUU is the only way.

i've not flashed again my buzz but i want to do it and so i've not unrooted it.
i've the stock rom upgraded to 2.22.405.1, so i ask to me if i do a nandroid now before flash another rom, then i can do a restore of it... sorry but firt of all i'm italian an i don't speak a read english very well...
thanx for your patience
Yes, you can restore your phone to the state it was right before you did the nandroid back-up.
Make sure you have enough space on your SD card before doing the back-up, say 500MB or more. And save that back-up to your PC for safe-keeping, it's in the "Clockworkmod" Folder on your SD card.
If your stock ROM (that you are restoring) is a version earlier than your custom ROM, do you need a goldcard?
If you are restoring to an earlier stock ROM to the stcok ROM on your phone, do you need a goldcard?

If I understand you correctly, you are having official 2.22.405 at this moment? If so, you will not be able to take a Nandroid Backup, or, install a Custom ROM, or, go back to a previous ROM, because, all of the above requires root, and, the official 2.XX ROM's cant be rooted as yet. You have lost root when you upgraded to 2.22.405.

No to both. Goldcard is just required for debranding purposes. (If you have taken backups of old ROM's)
I have an htc wildfire from vodafone with android 2.1 but I want to change the voda rom and install the htc official rom. I don't want to unlock I only want to change the vodafone rom with these ugly icons and applications and install the htc rom. So how I make this? I need to root? Only installing the official RUU.exe?

No, you will need a Goldcard to debrand your Wildfire. Just search the forums, there are guides on the same.

If you are on official 2.2.1, there is nothing you can do at all, except wait, till a solution arrives.

need custom rom based on Firmware = 2250.21.50001.728

anyone can make one??
Could you please explain the exact reason why?
Not that I can cook such rom but it will provide the cooks info they"ll need.
Maybe there is already your kind of rom if it's only to do for language or such.

because of the recent HTC update
this new firmware may contain bug fixes
i note the custom rom available now are using the older firmware
OK
I suspect it's just a little matter of time when the cooks will implement those bug fixes.
Hopefully for you they will, my HD7 is running fine on the DFT 7720 ROM
Htc October firmware update addresses battery life problems .
So it useful to use is a base for custom rom...

u can only do it if a custom rom baseon the above mentioned firmware is available.
But the problem is it requires the BOOTLOADER 5.0 to be supported under cotulla DFT.
Basically to cut it short , it requires bootloader 5.0 to be jailbroken.
The problem is u can do it
Flash a nodo rom with spl supported under dft.
jailbreak
Flash custom rom
then update to the HTC firmware 5.0 update
But the problem is the custom rom needs to be updatable in zune
most custom rom aren't except for xbmod with a custom cab package .

i was in the Lowyat.com forum in malaysia and some ppl have tried to downgrade to the nodo rom and got there devices bricked... some how the bootloader do not change for them...
i almost tried to downgrade to nodo and load the custom ROM...
so now i have to wait till DFT come up with a HSPL for 5.XXXX bootloader...

i tried each and every method. no matter how, i still cant downgrade my SPL below 5.
for your info. you can no longer flash back any other official ROM from 7004 till 7720. none of the custom ROM working as well.
i tried flash only Radio also its still can not. use cab sender also can not. none of the published method works. restore back to 7392 also wont work.

do the rspl again and flash the stock rom...
So we need to:
1. Run DFT's Install EXE > switch to OSPL
2. Install stock ROM
Am I correct?
Can we install stock ROM on HSPL-ed device?
Thanks.
Hi,
In this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068 by sh4d0w86
if you just take note of items 38 through to 44, this should sort out the phone,
select an ROM close to what came on the phone.

Thankyou for the reply but i sort it out and sold it.. basically the thing that i did was i go to this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Shipped_Roms
search my bootloader[SPL] version that was Pre-NoDo
Asia WWE 1.57.707.02 HTC HD7 T9292 7.0.7004.0 2250.09.15702.707 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U 1.57.2250.0(113571)
downloaded it and flash it with stock RUU not with Task29 then update Via Zune
and things went perfect

[Q] Custom Rom Flashing

Well hello, I'm kinda new to Xperia Modding and I'm trying to install a custom rom on my phone.. I just have some questions first:
1. Is there any custom rom that allows me to send apps and else to my external SD Card?
2. My phone can't unlock the bootloader since I checked that and it says it can't.. can I still install roms that way?
3. I'm trying or I want to install the Evo9 Custom Rom .. and my phone specs are the following:
Model: C6943
Android Version 4.4.4
Baseband Version 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270054-51
Core Version: 3.4.0-perf-g0109737
Compilation Number: 14.4.A.0.108
What do I exactly have to do in order to install that custom ROM on my phone? since the tutorial for lockedbootloader phones is really confusing..
/!\ for locked bootload
If you come from 761 or before
- Flash the ROM by recovery
- Flash the Gapps
- Power off
- Flash by flashtool the good kernel (C6902/03/06/43) for your device 108ftf strippedkernel by Nut...
Reboot and enjoy

What's 761 exactly? that number doens't say anything to me actually ._.
and the "flash by flashtool the good kernel" isnt' making sense to me since I assume I'm ignorant.. please could someone explain those things to me?
Thanks in advance.
1. Yes
2. Yes but only stock based roms
3. You have to get phone rooted and custom recovery installed

I'm on .108.. do I need to reflash the kernel? or it stays untouched?
Does this work with any operator?
