Destinator problem in Touch Pro but not in Diamond - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I installed Destinator 7 in my Touch Diamond with Cooked ROM with WM6.1 and without any lock (Security, SIM and CID) by copying install directory to Internal Memory . All Worked OK.
After copy the same folder to my new Touch pro with Stock ROM but with SIM and security unlocked (via registry editing), I could run Destinator but it didn't accept Brazil Map Q4 2007 7.1 nor Brazil Map Q2 2008 8.5. It only accepted old state map that I used with Destinator 6.
Why is it working in Diamond and not working in Touch Pro since is the same version and intalled the same way?
I did all I could to make Destinator run in my touch pro:
1) Reseted all security policies like advised in XDA developers thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373319
2) Used Security Configutation Manager sofware and aplied "Security Off" settings
3) Installed .net 3.5 in my Touch Pro
I still can't open Brazilian map in Destinator 7 in my touch Pro but when I copy the same folder to my Touch Diamond, the map opens without any problem. Can you explain me why is this happening? Both devices share the same hardware and ROMs are very similar.

I still have the same problem with Destinator in my TouchPro. It works flawlessly in my Diamond but im my touchpro I can only use old maps. Does anyone know why?

Pocket Navigator 7 Cyprus

Thought this might be of interest to Cypriot Kaiser owners or Kaiser owners travelling to Cyprus
http://rapidshare.com/files/75278991/Pocket_Navigator_CY.rar
it's the new version of the pocket navigator. u can download it and then extract it in a new folder on your desktop. copy the folder (contains 2 subfolders and a cab) on your ppc. then ran the cab. only 2 languages (greek and english).
duff linky
oops. try now
hi,
Are we talking about tomtom navigator 7 for PPC right?
excelent news... are you using it? whats your opinion about the softwere?
cheers
Hi
This is a different programme from tomtom. It's called Pocket Navigator. I don't know which countries are covered. The specific link though relates to a file which contains the programme as well as the map for Cyprus. It works fine on the TyTN II and the Touch Cruise and another member has tried it on the P3600. It's quite good.
As far as TomTom is concerned I ve only used version 6.0.
A friend who has been using Destinator 7 though, seems to be very happy. He thinks it's more user friendly than TomTom.
Hope this was helpful.

its all ok, just post your question in the touch pro section.
But I think its not necesary, u already have the answer.
Moved to Raphael, aka Touch Pro, Forum.
HTC Touch Pro do not seem to have HTC Home. In the "Today" settings, there is the HTC Touch Flo enabeled. I tried to runn iGO with it desabeled, but no succes.
So, I think there must be some other way...
Install iGo8, then search for the latest update. Install the latest update, remove the iGo8 Today plugin in Setting > Today > Items, and add a link in the "Programs" tab of TF3D. That should do it (works fine on my Touch Pro)

Got it working now....
Just a quick question, does it work in landscape mode on the touch pro?
Uhm, I don't know why it isn't working for you because on my Touch Pro it works great. Just installed it, copied the appropriate files for my country (the Netherlands) into the appropriate dirs as mentioned in the readme and that's it. Uhm, no, I had to set the GPS on com4 in iGo8 to get the gps working but that was all I had to do.

Just tried it. Works great in landscape too.
Can you confirm that the maps render and scroll smoothly when navigating now unlike the jerky movement you have with the Kaiser?
I can't compare with the Kaiser, I never had one. But map scrolling seems ok to me.
Hmm I got the same problem.. How do you actually update it?
I just bought my htc pro touch so bear with me please.
i installed it. everything seemed fine, i click on it, i get a loading icon, nothing happens.
Keyboard?
Hi,
iGO8 seems to work, but I can't get the hw keyboard to function. Not one key seems to respond. Does everyone else have this problem?
Thanks,
Cheers,

i dont understand why there are reported problems with the gps software on this phone. is there anything outhere that just works , without tweaks or anything of the sort?
is the co pilot 7 better than igo8? in terms of usability by someone who doesnt understand how all this works
I have tested iGO8, TomTom 7, and Garmin XT. All work fine on the Touch Pro (but I did not test hardware keyboard input).
In my case, I found Garmin to have the best GPS performance: only 2-3 seconds lag behind my separate Garmin nuvi 760 unit, and <30 secs for first fix most of the time. iGO and TT are a little slower but still work fine -- but other people find iGO or TT to work very well.
Other thoughts: TT has the most detailed roadmaps, iGO and Garmin are average. But I find Garmin has the best POI support. iGO (and I think TT, also) supports TMC but (so far) it cannot be activated on the Raphael. Garmin does not have TMC but can download traffic from its servers via your data connection (3G, EDGE, etc). For me, Garmin is a solid middle-of-the-road software; the only major drawback is no TTS, which iGO and TT both have.
I haven't tested Co-Pilot 7, but since it's based on iGO core (iirc) I probably won't try it. But of course, you should try demo maps or at least read reviews to find out which software is good for you.

To help clarify, there are two separate issues. The first is that many GPS software comes on SD cards that are intended to be kept on the SD, or on CD to be installed to main device memory, though if you buy it you have every right to install it to your Raphael. Since the Raphael only has microSD, you may have to install the program in a certain way to get it running. You also have to be careful of the software version, since not all are compatible with WM6.1. (These issues come up all the time among people pirating the software.)
The other issue is about the GPS receiver in the Raphael. Lots of people are trying different tweaks to get the best performance (ie: no lag) out of their receiver. But it's unclear if it's a problem with a weak antenna, or if certain programs (iGO, Garmin, TomTom) run better/worse on the Raphael. The results have been somewhat mixed but we're gradually figuring everything out.
Hi, I am trying to install IGO 8 on the HTC touch Pro, Raphael. The installation seems ok but when I launch the program, nothing happens. The rainbow circle shows up but then nothing. I am wondering what I am doing wrong. Could someone please advise?
Thanks in advance.

Tomtom 7.910.9185 update for HTC diamond

Just came across this update for tomtom 7
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/navcore_7.910.9185_TT_SIGNED.htc_diamond.cab
Seems to work OK on mine, but I never had any problems with lag
Bixx
already posted here somewhere...
Thanks buddy
Does it just install over the top of your old one >????
crash to install for me with tomtom 7.910 already install in intern storage....
Edit:
Also crash after uninstall of the old version
works fine on my diamond and cruise
Might find that it conflicts with the maps you have from your "older" version....install at you peril
ok so you suggest me to remove everything about tomtom on my phone, to install it and reput all on?
Can someone explain the diferentes with previous version?
Willem
Ok i had wrong: you have to unzip the file, it's not a cab but a rar files ...
Inside of you have a cab of tomtom which installed IN the phone memory and NOT into the storage ...
And what about the autorun.exe?
I don't know ....
Yeah, problem with my licence card now ...
theres also a raphael version http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/navcore_7.910.9185_TT_SIGNED.htc_raphael.cab
i have yet to see differences in all of these TomTom updates...
Works fine on my diamond, but im using version 8 maps.
Also, i installed after a format so i had no existing tomtom on there.

kaos_king,
What device did you state that you were purchasing the maps for when buying the maps form the Tomtom shop?
I downloaded TT 7.910 via TTHome 2.5 without problem and installed a sample map. This is working fine, so i'm ready to purchase a map, but am unsure which device option to specify and indeed, whether it makes any difference as its a map only.
Thanks.

TOM TOM iInstall on the Diamond

I am sorry if this has been answered before, but I have tried to search for an answer to this but not found any.
I've attempted to install TOMTOM 5 on my Diamond with no success and any help would be much appreciated.
I have the disc and the path is D:\disc1\tomtom-navigator-5-Benelux\setup. When I run the install, the dreaded message 'TomTom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience' is displayed.
I copied the whole disc1 folder to the internal storage on my diamond but all the files were read only. Where am I going wrong??!!??
If you want to install tomtom at your phone then you need a .cab file just do a search at this forum and you will find one the only thing is that its a tomtom 7. and I don't believe it will run the maps of tomtom 5 but whit a good search in Google or somewhere else you maid find aswell the right maps.
Willem
Thanks, but what ,cab file? What is a .cab file?
A .cab file is used to install applications on Windows Mobile devices. Only TomTom 7 or later will work with the Diamond as no earlier versions worked with the inbuilt GPS receiver.

Before I used TT7.9 I had TT6.30 running on my MDA IV, getting a fix was horrible thought, but after that TT6.30 worked just fine...

Is that the reason I can't get the maps to work on the Diamond I picked up on Friday
Strange as the TT version I have, 5.1, worked great on the internal one on the SPVm700 I just moved away from.
My issue is how to get TT to read the maps. Once I've installed the cab files on the device I can't get them to read the maps on the internal storage. If I try and install the cab files on the internal I can't get TT to fire.
Really don't know where to go next - and dn't want to go back to teh m700 when traveling.
Ta muchly
i think its the location on where you're maps should be placed. On my diamond, the map files are located on the ROOT of the internal storage. Thats the only way it seems for it to be found. So it should be place in : Mobile Device\Internal Storage.
