Hmmm....there is a post somewhere that I did re this...it's a registry change...easy enough to do. It comes down to changing the number beside input language...try searching?

Anyone know how to switch the keyboard configuration? This is very much the same problem as many TyTN users experienced when installing an operator ROM: my keyboard has symbols in the wrong place (e.g. ! and @ are reversed - I have an @ over the Q and a ! over the W).
The instructions posted in the Hermes wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Problems) and in various threads (like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283881) don't work, as the registry key ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]) doesn't exist. Maybe this is because it was written to help Cingular 8525 customers install HTC ROMs, which is the opposite thing I want to do. In fact I can't find the string "qwerty" in the registry at all. Creating the OEM\Qwerty key and populating the suggested value doesn't work.
Anyway if someone knows how to get the HTC symbol mapping back please let me know. Alternatively if anyone has the release version of the HTC Kaiser ROM, that would probably do the trick for me too.

I assume you've already tried this ROM?
Here is the cab fix for the 8525 keyboard being messed up. I'm attaching it below.. but I don't know if it just uses the same registry fix.
If the above Image isn't the latest release for the kaiser I wouldn't worry too much as people are starting to get the HTC RTM kaiser right now and I'm sure the official rom will be posted soon.
I've tried 'em all. Because they're AT&T ROMs they all have the AT&T Mappping. Why do carriers have to change the mappings of their keyboards at all?
thanks anyway.
I'm sure you've already found this solution...but was trying to find it myself and had to deduce it from reading how the forum people were able to do the reverse (assign AT&T layout to non-AT&T ROM).
Try this:
delete the registry key HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CWSLayout
Note that this works for correcting the keyboard layout problem when flashing a Rogers ROM on the HTC-branded kaiser

I think you ment THIS post
Still Nada here for this guy.
Tried,
Keyboard Fix WMXL 8525.cab
WM VI 8525 Keyboard Patch.CAB
Ive looked in my registry for the CWSLayout
Tried the reg edit for the qwerty key and the suggested edits were the values I already have.
Nada...
Ive got a Rogers Tytn that Ive upgraded using a ATT 8525rom
everything works great, other than the 8 symbol keys.
Any more suggestions?

Read the Kaiser Wiki -> Hacks and Tweaks -> Software section.
I saw some WWE keyboard skins laying around on the forums, now i tried to install that WWE skin on my dutch HTC WM6 rom, but it doesnt work. Any idea how to get it working on a dutch WM6?
Nobody knows how to convert the WWE keyboard skins to Dutch or whatever?
There have been several posts about changing the keyboard lay-out in the registry which depends on your country. Try searching for the change that has to be made.
You can try changing your country code for the keyboard skin from WWE to dutch.
Does not work to work mate.
Are you looking for a cab that changes the skin and color of your keyboard? I think it depends on what kind of keyboard and device you are using. If you're using the generic keyboard, here's a cab that changes the skin/color of your keyboard. I'm assuming you're is a wing or unbranded herald. If you're suing a dutch rom, I don't think it matters, because you're just changing the color/skin of your keyboard, but I may be wrong. I hope this helps.
Tnx m8, im gonna try it. Thanks for the help.
Edit: to bad it aint working.
Hi Bio88. sorry, but my english is very bad.Changing the keyboardcolor with the Prog - it doesn`t work on my Orbit. Can you help me ? Another idea ?
Thanks say Hotte_X
Hello everybody,
i use the Open Touch V6 rom and its very good But i have one problem...
The rom is englisch and my herald is a german one. This means that i have a german keyboard layout. so my question are:
a.) It's possible to change the key assignment to adapt to my german keyboard?
b.) It's possible to change the touchpad-Keyboard (that on which can fade in) to a german layout?
Thanx

I think your best bet is to check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php
Exhaust the possibilities. If not then it most likely doesn't exist.
Thanx, but i have tried out the forum-search and i have not found a solution for my problems. All founded threads are solutions for WM6 but my used rom is WM6.1.
So have anybody else a solution?
Thanx
SuperElmo
I found a solution
AEKMap works fine also on WM6.1.

Hi,
I had the same problem and for me it was an issue with T9 : you'll have to disable T9 SIP with Diamond Tweak and that bug will be over.
regards
Just want to say thanks to all the nice folks here - have joined up the other week after getting my new Diamond - but as yet have had no reason to post as any questions I could have had (including this one!) has been answered many times over!
Cheers!
hi all
im looking for a way to change the t9 dictionary that xt9 uses in my custom rom. but untill now i cant
i found this site:
http://mobile.etechniker.com/index....&catid=66:tutorials--hacks&Itemid=102&lang=en
but thats not any good :\
could anyone help me on this one pls i'd like a Dutch dictionary, thanks
I don't think this website is for the X1 phone. There are most of the stated settings/reg keys not available on X1.
Well, this is the section for it I think?
If anyone successfully added a new dictionary I hope they can help me.
