I ordered 2 of these at noon on Thursday & recieved them on Friday
My final cost was $44.48 for 2 extended batteries

The battery I recieved reads: UT Starcom Model BTE6800 2200mAh 3.7V Li Ion ( I see they advertise it being 2100mAh)

Nice!
Thanks for this!

Wow! Thanks alot, 20 bucks for an official verizon battery is a steal, some questions though;
1)how long do extended batteries last before they need a charge after moderate usage?
2)and what's the lifetime on them before they completely crap out?
edit: also, how long is the promo code good for?

are extra capacity batteries safe?

I was thinking about getting one of those 2400mah batteries from ebay. Are using these batteries safe? Will they damage my device?
if you're not buying it from a carrier or company the phone came from, all bets are off. if something goes wrong and your phone fries, you're on your own. that having been said, I've used extended batteries I bought off ebay with my old blue angel and now my wizard phone without problem. if you don't want to take the risk, you can always opt for one of those battery based chargers. just make sure the battery is designed for the phone model in question and you should be fine.
As long as it's b.e. 3,7 VDC out (as needed on a variO) it's no problem. The 2400mAhr can only deliver more Power or Current as whatever your device likes to ask for.
I'm using this kind of battery (2400mAh) almost 1 year without any troubles.
I bought this battery at eXpansys USA.
Anyhow, how can they prove that I'm using this kind of battery?
They are not able to do that!
Seen as how your buying from Ebay, have you checked the sellers history to see if he has sold many of these high cap batterys before? If so what are the reviews like.
As the Blue Angel I got already came with the standard TWO batterys I haven't needed a high cap one, but I have used one for another phone and never had any problems. Unlike them cheap high volume ink cartridges that exploded on me....
Think most of the problems with batterys have been down to the chargers over heating the batterys which causes pressure to build up inside. Useraly only happens with 'rapid' chargers.

these $25 2400mAH batteries on ebay.. are they actually 2400mAH or is that what the sticker says? anyone compared one to a new standard capacity battery? the reason I say NEW standard capacity battery is that of course even a new SC battery would last longer than the old battery so it wouldn't be a good test to say the new 2400mah batt last longer than the old 1850 mah batt... understand where I'm going with this?
size difference?
is there a size difference between the standard and the extended? It could cause problems with the cradle and I doubt any cases were designed with larger batteries in mind.

2150 mAH Extended Battery In Stock

Just got the followup call from the VZW rep from my initial complaint about the 1300 mAH battery being stupidly inadequate. They let me know the 2150 is now in stock and it is $59.99 including the extended door.
I don't know anything about the physical dimensions of the battery, so don't ask me about that. I just know it is 2150 mAH, is HTC OEM, and it's available to order now.
Now, should I grab one of those or stick with the 1500 mAH TP2 battery.
EDIT: As of 5:23 EST, the website doesn't show it, however the VZW rep on the phone confirmed they have them in stock ready to order. *shrug*
on the phone with them now! They said it only for a specific area,
but they are attempting to order for direct shipping regardless
*Update Getting it guaranteed YEsssssssss
but the system isn't automatically taking off my 20% equipment discount.....

Note if you order the battery make sure you mention your equipment discount if you have one.

I'll let you know. I've got the Innocase II with the 1750 mAh (extended cap but OEM city) batt, holstered in the Innocase II holster. I'll go to VZW around 1800 ET today and see if they have any of the 2150 mAh's in stock, in store. I'll report back to this thread in either event.
Personally the 1750 is working great. If the 2150 will fit the Innocase II (which would surprise me) I may get it. Otherwise I'll hold off until the Seidio 3500 mAh becomes available, and will get the proper case/holster then.
More to come!

probably because you DON'T live in the great state of California; with the nation's highest sales tax.
Well, I bit the bullet and ordered one. The 1500mAH gives me a full day and then some on normal/moderate usage. I'm hoping this battery gives me 2 days of normal/moderate usage and 1 full day of heavy usage (I'm talking Navigation, lots of 3G internet, and the boat load of calls I make, in addition to the normal texting and browsing).
If I don't like it I can return it or sell it... or give it to my gf.
somebody make sure to post pics when they get theirs. i'm definitely interested, but I want to see how it looks compared to the stock battery cover
It's not pretty. Scroll down midway, and you'll see someone posted images on their Flickr account.

Ok here is the deal and I am not sure why this wasn't public knowledge but the HTC Touch Pro 2 battery works with the Incredible it is a 1500 and it should go on sale soon... I work Tech support and and tested this in mine and am running it in mine... One of the Guys from HTC let me in on this.. Oh no need for extended back cover and the rest.... Me thinks its just another way to sale accessories
Hope this helps everyone.

This has been known for quite a long time. Seidio makes one that is 1750 and fits behind the stock battery door.
Back on topic.... That 2150mAh is extremely hideous and i will NOT be buying one.
Well ...
My 2150mah has arrived and it does have a pushed out center similar to the blurry pictures as posted on other sites. I suspect that I will use it until HTC comes out with a bug fix.
NOW FOR THOSE ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN A FIX research has shown that HTC outlined a procedure which I have used and it definitely has amazing results:
1) Charge with power on (no need to be on the desk clock)
2) When it goes green power off
3) Unplug and replug
4) It will stay red/orange for a while (indicating the rest of the charge)
You may still experience a drop off early on, but the battery holds the charge much longer.
Pictures

I did this last night, and I've been using the phone pretty heavily this morning like any other morning, and it dropped the first 10% a little slower, but its still at 87% battery, when by this time yesterday it was already on like low 70s high 60s!!!!
yes
Yes ... that IS the solution to the battery issue, but I don't know how to get a sticky on the topic.
On topic, I did the HTC trick to my 2150mah and in the 2 hours since I unplugged it I have taken 2 pictures, 1 of which was emailed, and I have checked the phone a few times. I am still at 100%. I suspect this has more to do with the phone not calibrating to the new battery as 2 hours of standby (+ pictures, email, etc) does NOT equal 0% usage.
[UPDATE] ... at 3 hours and 20 minutes uptime ... I have 96% battery remaining.
[UPDATE 2] ... at 5 hours and 21 minutes uptime ... I have 86% battery remaining. Current use = 44% cell standby; 43% phone idle; 5% android system; 4% camera; 2% display; 2% android.process.acor [=phone call].
[UPDATE 3] ... let an iPhone loyalist play with the phone for a little while ... at 10 hours 54 minutes I have 73% of the battery remaining. Current use = 40% standby; 38% idle; 8% maps; 8% android system; 3% camera, 3% display.
I may elect not to charge it tonight and see how it keeps going.
Thanks to the OP for the heads-up. I know that the batteries are ugly as sin (though drPheta's dremel work made it look presentable), but I am much more concerned with functionality. The first Verizon rep I called claimed that the batteries were not in stock yet, but the second one took care of me.

generic 4000mAh batteries?

Has anyone tried out any of those generic 4000mAh batteries for the Bionic? I realize it's not going to be the same quality as an 'official' battery(or the Mugen one for that matter), but considering how inexpensive they are I am wondering if it's at least worth trying.
Trexcell 4000mAh Battery ($18.99):
http://www.amazon.com/Trexcell-Motorola-4000mah-Extended-Battery/dp/B0064AOE84
Hyperion 4000mAh Battery ($14.99):

Generic 4000mAh Battery $9.99):

Had the Hyperion one died in like 5 hours stay away don't know about the others
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
i figure since all 3 are cheap crap i may as well try out the cheapest one as it's $9.99 + free shipping. just that it's coming from china so it'll be here in a few months
regardless, at that price if it does crap out then it's only $9.99 that was lost.
So if it safe to say that the Mugen batteries are good quality??

I bought moto extended battery 2wks ago at a verizon stote for $24.99+ tax so I actually paid around $27
So I just keep my stock charged and use as backup
1750+2750= 4500 for $27
More reliable than most generic junk and much cheaper than mugen 4000 $80+
Highly recommend moto extended battery I can last the whole day and still have 25%+ left before I need charge
Unplug @ 6am plug in @ 12 am
Heavy usage
2hrs + talk time
3hrs + navi
30 min - 2hrs gaming
2-6 hrs web on 4g
i guess if i want to watch 2 - 3 movies or a season of tv shows i'm better off with the 4000.
for me it's about 'how long will it last during usage?'
I haven't run the moto extended dead yet, and I've used the hell out of it

I went 3 days and 9 hours on a $10 generic ebay battery with normal use. How does that compare to the "best battery out for the bIoNiC?"
I'm not worried about the lifespan of the battery itself. $10 vs $88 is a huge difference. Even if I have to buy 5 throughout the 2 years I own this phone, I'm still less money into it than just 1 of your mugen batteries.
I know personally, I would never have to go 3 days without access to some sort of charger. Basically I only wanted to test and see how long it would last without charging.

I was more making a point that $88 is wayyy to much money for an aftermarket battery. If you have money to blow, I can see the reasoning but otherwise it's not worth it.

Laza Extended battery (6400mAh with cover) $20 shipped

Hey guys, I'm not sure if y'all are aware but on Laza's website, they're selling the Note 2's extended battery, a 6400mAh battery for $20 shipped.
I bought mine last week and I think I'm getting mine on Tuesday. If you guys ever need more than a day's charge, this battery is perfect for you guys. I just wanted to put you guys on something, because on Amazon, they're selling that exact battery for $30 plus shipping. I like having extended batteries on my phone, just because I don't know if I will return home that same day (might travel to a friends house without my charger), or might have a longer day than usual. The link's at the bottom.
