I found this on worldwide htc site

installed without any problems (unbranded htc touch pro)
Thanks so much for posting this link. This has been my biggest problem with my Fuze.
I'd tried every suggested fix I could find for this problem ever since I first got the Fuze 11/08. HTC and third party media players, registry tweaks, huge caches, running on and off battery power, turning off equalization, etc.
But, no matter what, nothing that I did made a bit of difference. My WMA collection was subject to hiccups and stutters. Every few minutes at most I'd get a brief interruption, which gimped my phone as an all around media device.
But, now I've listened for about half an hour after installing the hotfix and at long last I'm golden! Thanks HTC for addressing this issue that is admittedly minor for most users, but was HUGE for me. That's how to build customer loyalty.
This is good news. Unfortunately, this exe won't run on custom roms.
I wonder if some kind soul might be willing to install this on a stock rom to see exactly what files and/or registry settings the installer changes (using SKTools or something) and then zip them up for us so we can test it...

It ran fine on NATF's v4.7. No idea what it did though. You can open the .exe in 7Zip and see the files though, so you might be able to work out what it does from that.
Cheers,
Steve.

NATF 4.7 is a 6.1 rom, so that explains why it probably runs on it (I should have clarified that it won't run on newer build custom roms).
Anyway, thanks for the tip about 7Zip. I've extracted the contents and I'm looking over the xml files to see what it does. Looks like it installs a new OEM_Misc.dll, along with a couple other files, and a few registry entries. I may try to fiddle with it this weekend.
Have a look at this thread ... we ran into this a while, maybe it will be of assistance.

From this looks of this thread, Da_G was going to include the fix in his kitchen, although I still experience skipping audio sometimes.
I did a quick compare of the OEM_Misc.dll in Da_G's kitchen, the file in the other thread, and this one. The file in this Raph hotfix is smaller (by about 10kb) than the version in Da_G's kitchen and it is labeled version 5.11.0.0, as opposed to 5.0.0.0. The file in the thread you posted is even smaller yet (by about 7kb) and is labeled version 1.39.0.0...
I'm going to try copying this newest OEM_Misc to my Windows folder to see what happens. I'll post back later...
Update: I installed this new OEM_Misc.dll on my TP and ran it through my regular weekday audio test at the gym. After about 1 hour 15 minutes of straight music playback, I did not experience any of the skipping I had seen before. The only skip I noticed was immediately after the audio resumed after hanging up a call. Other than that, it seems to be a noticeable improvement.
I've whipped up a cab for anyone else that wants to try it out on a newer rom.
thanks hefman,
quick question before i install, is this cab uninstallable? just want to make sure i don't have to hard-reset if it doesn't work out for me
Works
Thanks very much. This worked for me with the 6.1 standard FUZE ROM. Before the Hotfix, every 20 seconds or so of audio playback I received a skip. It was very annoying and rendered the FUZE unusable as an mp3 player. Since the installation of the Hotfix, no more skips. I played several songs without a single skip or hesitation.

You should be able to uninstall the cab. However, if it won't uninstall, you can always use TotalCommander to delete the OEM_Misc.dll file from your Windows directory. A soft reset will then restore your rom's version of that file.
Can you please inform CDMA folks that this is not for them. I had to do hard reset (SPRINT Touch Pro). Thanks.

Anyway, I changed the name of my cab.
Strange though, the original HTC hotfix link does not say it is GSM-specific. Did you install the original exe or my cab?
seems to be working great! i have noticed however that my 'menu' soft-key for htc music player is not working anymore but it is probably due to a diff program b/c uninstalling the audio fix does not correct the problem..

Thank you very much for this. Just listened to around 20 minutes of music on pocket player (320kbps files) without any lags. Before it was rare if I got through a track without a skip.

Welp I was fixing to pay Cingular $350 to prematurely cancel our contract b/c I was about ready to throw my POS 8125 out the window. Then someone referred me here and I'm cautiously optimistic that my blood pressure will once again be below 250/150.
But after reading through alllll the threads on alllll the roms...I'm a little more confused now than before.
Simply put, which ROM for my 8125 is:
Fastest?
Most Stable?
The custom AKU 2.2 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=51047 ) was recommended to me...but now I've gotten lost...
Thanks.
I saw your thread on hofo. This place is 100x cooler and more helpful.
I've had my phone for less than six weeks and read a ton right before buying the phone. As soon as I bought it, I did all of this and haven't had any problems at all.
Get lokiwiz first. I used v0.2b and it worked fine for me. Be sure to take extra time to read the instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796
Select your ROM and perform the upgrade:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/
I selected Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE_CF2_A2DP-fixed.exe from the directory. This is version 2.17 and I haven't had any problems at all. I've been following discussions on newer ROMs and plan to stay where I am for now. You can run this through Activesync and don't even need to establish a partnership. I did my phone, then 3 others all the same way (my wife's and then two for the neighbors) and didn't have a single problem with any of them. Running from the point at which you open the box and start going, this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour once you do this over and over. I've only done this once per phone but seem to be operating a free upgrade service.
Finally, you'll want to hack the registry.
There are tons of registry hacks here:
http://www.indippc.com/v3/index.php?topic=322.msg2018;topicseen
and here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other

You'll probably want to use Resco explorer and their registry editor. Those are nice because you can try them before buying them and make sure you like them. There are others and I tried Total Commander first, but found the Resco product more effective for importing the .reg files I'd created to help speed up the edits.
Hope this helps!
100Tbps, that's awesome info. Thanks for pointing this out. There are a ton of threads with tons of info scattered through and it's easy to miss something. I remember reading that somebody suggested putting all this info in one thread or post and you seem to have done most of it.
One question, is creating a .reg file for WM5 just as easy as creating it for XP/2K? I would like to put my favorite tweaks in one .reg file and import one file.
Thanks!
Well with such a great reply like that, I'd have to agree that this place is beter than hofo.
Concerning Rosco, do you think that it would be better than SPB Pocket Plus? I only ask b/c I read on hofo that Resco slowed the 8125 down more than SPB....but I've been running SPB and it definately slows down my today screen refresh. Does anyone know anything about this?
Also (I posted this in hofo, but I have yet to get an intelligent reply), how does everyone's video run on their 8125? I'm wondering if something is wrong with mine b/c pretty much everything that I try to play only plays at about 0.5 frame per second but with normal video. For example, navigating to the windows media favorite that comes bundled into the favorites menu while my 8125 is connected via USB to my broadband connection, and then clicking on ANY of the videos (they are either 37kb or 54kb) gives me this problem. It's reallllly annoying as I was hoping to later hook up my 8125 with a slingbox--but if I can't get any videos to play normall...this obviosly won't be feasable. Is this par for the 8125? Or is mine just screwy? And yes, this is after both a fresh factory ROM installation and the new 2.2 beta I just installed. Same problem.
Thanks!

Creating the .reg file is very easy. I used Total Commander on my phone to create the .reg files. When I hacked my wife's phone, I discovered Total Commander didn't recognize the .reg files and that's when I tried Resco's product. Their program registered the .reg files but even better, has an import button. So I placed all my .reg files in one place and one by one went through and imported them. I have just under 20 of them. If I ever get time to figure out how to do this, I'll probably try to condense them into larger .regs or learn how to make a .cab.

I actually don't have the Resco product installed on my phone. When I hacked mine, I used Total Commander for regedits, then used Resco on the three other phones. I actually installed it when I was done, but I'm more than likely going to go back and buy it the next time I need to do this. I haven't tred the SPB product so I can't say.
For videos, this might be a more complex discussion.
If you mean recording videos, there is a thread around here explaining registry hacks to increase the frame rate when recording so it plays back smoother. I thought I had it in my collection but don't see it, but I do recall seeing a discussion about this.
If you mean streaming videos over the net or files placed on the SD card or in memory, it could be one of a few things. You may need to overclock the player to get it to play more effectively (this is 100% a guess), try a different player (I've seen people bow down to TCPMP), or the bitrate may be too much and / or an oversized video. Hopefully others will chime in with their experiences about any of these avenues since I've said a bunch without really offering anything concrete. I believe TCPMP is free so that may be the easiest thing to try.
thanks.
I'm actually talking about streaming any video. It's not a bandwidth problem b/c I've tested it while connected to my home broadband over usb. And it's not the server b/c I can turn right aroung and stream the same crappy qualit 37kbs video on my pc and it plays fine. It just seems like the 8125 should be able to handle this w/o any problems...

I use Spb Pocket Plus and I like it a lot. It does slow down the 8125 a bit but I don't think it's any worse than Resco's product, though I don't remember using Resco's. However, SBSH's iLauncher is pretty good. It has a ton of options, much more than Pocket Plus, but Pocket Plus just seems to be a more refined product. You might want to give iLauncher a try.

I was going to ask the same thing lol
I divided these into things I think anyone would want (the general folder) and things that may just be personal preference (the personal preference folder). For example, some people may use Hotmail and thus not need to remove it from the list of Inbox options - and not everyone uses Microsoft Voice Command and wouldn't want to change their dialer to something not installed - so these are in the personal preference folder.
These are what I extracted from my phone after I edited them manually (using the 2.17 ROM summiter cooked for us) and created the reg file for my own future use in case I re-flashed. I think it's important to mention newer ROMs may not need some of these because they may already be there because Microsoft (or summiter, the grande provolone of ROM cooking) enabled them - or the registry may be different. So my suggestion is manually verify the path is present before importing to make sure you're actually getting what you want.
Thanks for that
I installed the fixed 2.17 and so far so good...except for one rather big problem--the battery meter no longer works. It just tells me that I always have 100% battery life and the icon at the top taskbar now looks filled in with a single line diagonally across the center. How do I fix this? I also should mention that I'm now using Resco Explorer 2005 5.40...so I don't know if the problem is related to the firmware or Resco.
Any advice? Anyone seen this before?
My bluetooth volume is really low on the headset, anyone else have this problem? Im using the Jawbone bluetooth headset on Dutty's v3 rom on my att tilt. Ive tried different roms, adjusting the volume to highest on the phone and the headset but callers are still hard to hear. Ive used the same bluetooth headset on my previous 8525 with no problems. My headset was even too loud when on high with the 8525. Any advice would be great because i do all my talking via bluetooth with my phone.
Yes, everyone has this problem - although I heard something about AT&T's latest ROM having some fix for the BT, but wasn't sure exactly what it fixed...
FIX?
Well if the problem was fixed either buy a chief here or htc or whomever, there should be a cab file floating around with the fix. thats what im hoping for or maybe a registry edit to help fix the problem. Ive read many threads on how the bluetooth volume suck for cars as well. Maybe if theres a fix for that, the same fix should fix my problem and many other's.

Yeah as a matter of fact you can take this into your own hands. The latest AT&T ROM has a file called "AudioPara4-CWS_V6.csv" which I cooked into my new ROM (releasing tomorrow morning) as well. The thing is you don't need to "COOK" it at all. And it is simply a comma delimited spreadsheet. I have attached it so you can download it. Simply edit it as necessary for your headset, drop it in \Windows and add the following registry key to your device:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"AcousticFile"="\Windows\AudioPara4-CWS_V6.csv"
Drop and Go?
So i just drop the unzip file u provided into my documents and edit the registry myself as u described? Sounds easy enough if thats all it takes. Whats the name of the rom u are releasing? Ill have to give it a try.
?
DARN! When i downloaded the file on my tilt and tried to open it i get the usual zip error of cant find the archive file crap. Guess ill have to wait to get home from work to try it on my computer.

If you're using File Explorer select "Show All Files"...sorry I zipped it directly from my ROM and it has the hidden and system attributes set. Even on a Windows machine you will need to enable hidden files AND Protected OS files to be able to see it. And put it in \Windows.
Nope
Even after i check show all files on file explorer, then click on the zip file, get the same zip error when i try to open it.

Exactly, glad im not the only one that cant unzip this file. sounds like we just need to place a couple files in my documents then edit the reg. This might sound dumb but can u just upload the files a la carte that need to go to the my documents folder instead of making it a zip file? A cab that installs by putting these files and edits the reg would be too good to be true. Anyone up for the challenge?

If you using Vista go to tools in any folder. Click on folder options.

EDIT: Am I getting closer?
Whats this cab do?
Thanks for the cab file but whats it supposed to do? I installed the cab to the device then soft reset the phone. I then talked via bluetooth headset for 20 minutes after reset and the low volume was still there. Almost seemed the cab did nothing more then take up 16kb of memory on the phone. Didn't address the low volume problem in the bluetooth headset. It must be something with the phone because i know this headset gets very loud becuase ive used it on several devices and all being consistant except the tilt. Any other suggetions to fix this problem anyone?
you can try this:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
Tell me what yours say for the "SpkVolume" setting ??
also...
I got this tip from somewhere before ... see if this help you ... it's for the BT handset mic volume ... but within those keys ... there should be one for the speaker volume as well ( you have to search for YOUR device ... as everyone's is different ):
quote:
""
Navigate to
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device
Under this you would find several keys. Each key represents a device you are paired with. In my case I have only 2 keys since my PDA is paired only with 2 devices (my notebook, and my handsfree) Then navigate to the handsfree key, so mine reads like this.
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\000c55401c45\Services\0000111e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb
You would find a dword called name, verify that the value corresponds Hands Free
Change the channel to 5 (my default was 2) 5 seems to work better with Motorolla H500.""
goodluck
Bump for some more info.
If you search the forum you will find a few posts on this subject. I have been searching through them just about every day and I have had no luck in finding an answer. Seems editing the registry doesnt help and the BT fix cab was released by HTC to fix bluetooth headsets dropping calls. I have tried the fix and I have tried using Jetware, I have not tried the registry fixes because many others have tried and said it doesnt work. Ive been through 4 headsets and non have good volume. I am still waiting on someone to find a working solution or a reasonably priced headset (below $100 thats non-stereo) that works. I think you may be stuck for a while like so many others....
Man, that sucks. I never get dropped calls on from using bluetooth, only when the phone drops the calls from ****ty att service. U don't have to limit what rom to use to have this so called BT volume fix (which I am not sure if it really working or not), just use the cab I package above.

Hi there, this is my first post on this great board.
First, thanks to all of you for helping me solve loads of problems with my Tilt. Thanks to xda-dev, my phone is really tricked out and great to work with (albeit with crippled video). This site is a fantastic resource, and populated with some very smart and talented people. I've been visiting this site every day since December, when I got my Tilt.
Up until now I've been able to solve all my problems just by reading the Wiki and searching, and I wouldn't start a new thread unless I'd already searched (MANY times) for an answer... but this one's driving me crazy.
Windows Media player will not open. When I click the icon, or an associated file, nothing happens. I don't particularly like WMP, I use CorePlayer instead... but WMP is needed for MP3 or WAV ringtones. So, when I try to select one, I get a message saying "This ringtone file is corrupt or unavailable."
The most relevant thread I could find was here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-266527.html. Obviously the problem didn't get solved.
While searching, I also read about some other player (Pocket Music, I think) has the capacity to kill WMP, but I've never installed it. I only use CorePlayer and TCPMP.
I've tried deleting the MSMETADATA and WMDRM folders, I've tried checking file associations, and a few other things as well... No luck.
My phone is a bone-stock AT&T Tilt, no custom ROM. I'm really trying to avoid a hard-reset. Does anyone happen to know a solution for this?
Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.
Try uninstalling Core Media Player
Thanks for the quick reply... I've tried uninstalling CorePlayer (and lots of other things), with no luck.
By way of a shameless bump...
I should add that .AMR and MIDI files still work as ringtones, but every other (useful) format does not.
Also, I was wondering if anyone has some kind of .CAB file of the actual WMP files, just in case I can fix this with a reinstall. I don't really know how much it would help, since WMP is already in ROM, but I'd really love to solve this without a hard reset if I can.
Thanks again, everyone.
OK... I feel bad bumping this again, but I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. I waited for a good month before I posted, trying to figure my own way out of this mess, and this is my last resort. This will be my last bump, I promise.
Has no one else run into this issue? Windows Media Player is dead. It won't open, and I'm fairly certain it's why my WAV or MP3 ringtones don't work.
I'd appreciate ANY ideas, no matter how off-the-wall they might sound... and if anyone has a cab file for WMP, that's also be a great help.
Thanks again for all you guys do.
Sounds like you have corrupted wmp registry, try the attached cab it will restore wmp registry (soft reset after install to apply changes).
Thank you VERY much, sakajati... but unfortunately, installing this cab (and soft-resetting) didn't work for me. I got pretty hopeful for a second there.
In case it matters, I got that post-install message about the software not working properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile. I'm on a stock, unflashed, noob-approved Tilt.

That's strange! that error message should not pop up if you are really running wm6, you can ignore the message since it's only a warning and is not an error.
Just curious, did you really install it on wm6 device?
Yes, my Tilt is running WM6 Pro. I haven't done any 6.1 upgrading.
Ok I've build full wmp10 installer for you, grab it while you can!
Wow... Thanks so much for going out of your way to help me here.
Bad news, though, it didn't work... I still get the same problem. I click the icon, and absolutely nothing happens.
Just switch to pocket music, it is light years ahead of WMP in my opinion. I needed a player that worked with my bluetooth headphones, had an equalizer and an easy playlist manager. WMP does fit in some ways but it's interface sucks.
Jeff
I agree Jeff, I mainly use TCPMP or CorePlayer... the only reason I want WMP to work is because while it's broken, I can't use MP3 and WAV ringtones.

I had the same problem in that for some strange reason my WMP refuse to start and the system always freezes forcing me to soft reset. Your cab has solved my problem. Thanks a million
Hi, I have the same issue with my Trinity running original WM5 rom. Is it possible to find a clear full WMP9 installer for it, so I can hope to fix this annoying problem ? Thanks !
I ended up having to hard-reset to fix the problem. I was about due for some spring cleaning anyway.
I have a stock rom Blackjack II AT&T branded phone and have experienced this problem twice now. The first time around I ended up hard-resetting the phone to get media player and mp3 ringtones to work again.
This time I've tried installing the "full wmp10 installer" cab so linked above in this thread, but still a no go.
If anyone has even an off-handed guess at what might be causing this problem and/or how I might fix it without a hard-reset I would be forever grateful to hear it!
It seems like this might be a recurring problem on this phone, so I'm desperate to either figure out what's causing it or at least come up with a reasonably quick fix for it when it does happen.
Hi!
Sorry have to bump this thread too. My WMP doesn't start any more and I don't really want to use backup from 2 weeks ago. I tried installing both cabs with no result.
Is there some kind of debugging feature that can be used to track down the problem?
/Hessi

Sounds like you have corrupted wmp registry, try the attached cab it will restore wmp registry (soft reset after install to apply changes).

How do I make this insllation?

tried installing WMP 10, unfortunately, didn't work... =( huhu..... Anyway, do you think a hard reset will fix the problem? thanks
Greeting All, I promise I wouldn't resort to starting a new thread unless I had exhausted all other options. I've searched 25+ different things on Google, read literally hundreds of thread and thousands of posts learning and creating. I've been a Mogul user for a year, but have now moved on to the Kaiser/Tilt. I've made a fantastic ROM and love everything about it except for one thing - it's missing PTT. I own a computer business and our techs use this religiously. I'd love to have it back, but have searched high and low for an OEM or CAB. I even tried extracting it myself from the latest AT&T stock ROM, only to have it never install right after creating the CAB.
I've hit road blocks and dead ends all over the forum. 4 times I found what I needed and all times the CAB/OEM/RAR no longer existed. Googling the file name returned nothing. The best I have to go on is this: I saw in a discontinued thread there was an OEM package from "_Alex_'s UltraClean ATT 1.60.502.3 ROM OEM Packages.rar", namely "PTT_2_0_614_713". It's even in the screenshots in the WIKI, but I can't find this package in v5.1 of the posted OEM packages. I've hunted everywhere for it. Forums, FTPs, Google... either I'm just completely missing it (possible - been at this problem for around 15 hours) or it's just not there anymore.
Can anyone possibley provide me with a link to the UltraClean RAR download? Or at the very least that specific OEM package? Even a CAB of it would suffice - I'll make an OEM. I'm about ready to give up and *gasp* flash a stock ROM so I can have PTT back until I get this solved. Please, someone point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks so much for everything the major players do on this forum. Love it!

This is extracted from Hermes, see if it works!
Very cool, thanks for the help. I have the same files from the original AT&T ROM, yet I was having problems converting it to a working CAB/OEM. However, your attachment helped me run across something else that might work. I searched for "PTT=2_0_703_715" instead of "PTT_2_0_703_715" and came up with a few more hits. I think I can build an OEM from it and eventually a CAB. If so, I'll be sure to post it all here for anyone like me.
Thanks so much!
::EDIT:: - I just realized that this IS a complete OEM. The file I was missing before was marked as system so it wasn't showing up at first. (When I recreated it manually, I got the error of it's already there...) I'll see if making this into a CAB works on the cooked ROM. If so, you're my hero. If not, you've still given me something to work with!! Thanks again.
::EDIT AGAIN:: - Well, creating a CAB from those files didn't seem to work, but it's entirely possible I just did that wrong. It installed successfully (so it claims), but I can't get the button to remap properly either via Registry during install or manually assigning it to PTT. (Mapping it to Comm Manager and MS Voice CMD works perfectly though.) Starting PTT manually (from the PTT folder under Windows after install) seems to work at first. It warns of possible extra charges and starts to provision service, but it never finishes. No error message (that I can make out... there is a scrambled text message which is what currently happens when someone who has PTT tries to message me or their status changes, etc). I'll try cooking it into a ROM and see what comes of that. FWIW, I also tried building the additional files from a stock AT&T Tilt firmware. I'm hoping someone else can come through with the original OEM files I was after (pictured in the Kaiser Kitchen Wiki from _Alex_) so I can try to turn them into a CAB. Otherwise, I'll keep tinkering with what I have to work with and see what happens.

Sorry for the double post, but this i something that may help others running across this thread - rusyn posted a cab that might work. Unfortunately I haven't tested it yet, but it seems like they had luck! The thread is HERE. I'm skeptical if it maps the PTT button correctly because it looks like the same files I packed myself into a CAB, yet it gave me a bit of grief with that. (Of course, I very well could have done it wrong, but it was far from my first CAB creation.)
Either way, give it a go if you were hunting like me.

Although this has been commented on in several threads already, I haven't seen a dedicated thread on the problem so here goes.
With all the media players I have tried so far (HTC’s, TCPMP, Windows Media Player and PocketPlayer), there is a noticeable pop or skip in the music every few minutes.
I have tried several things to try and fix it but to no avail. What's worse is that I now know this happens every five minutes EXACTLY. I end up looking at my watch just to confirm it's the problem every time I hear any glitch!
Things I have tried to cure the problem (all tests performed after a soft reset):
- In PocketPlayer (my player of choice) I have tried virtually every permutation for the buffer and decoder priority settings
- I have stopped all non-essential services and killed almost all the processes I can
- I have disabled TouchFlo 3D with no Today plug-ins running
- Tested in ‘Airplane Mode’
- Ensured no application is set to get updates from the internet automatically such as Weather and RSS feeds
This is really frustrating for me as I opted for the HTC Touch Diamond as an all-in-one device only to discover that MP3 playback is unusable.
NOTE: I am using an adaptor for wired head phones or a connection to my car’s head unit. I do not have Bluetooth headphones for testing. I am using RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship with minimal tweaks applied (mainly cosmetic ones).
If you have similar problems or any suggestions, please let me know!
Been there.. done that. Exactly 5mins it is.
The new OS build (20273) makes the pauses less. The older Build used to be worse! Still waiting for HTC to fix.

What is that build number (20273)? I have not seen an HTC ROM with that build number, can you provide more details?
Thanks!

I can't see why deleting the music and copying it back is going to solve the problem... Unless it's the delete "AudioManager_Eng.vol" step you mean?

Actually Step 3 & 4 can be skip, the main reason to let those not sure or confuse how to manage the folders within the "InternalStorage"
Important is creating "folder.jpg" in our Touch Diamond. (Recognised by TD)
Some music files especially mp3 with built-in Album Arts also give problem.
All the above, based on my few tests & tries . . . .

The music files on my Diamond was transfered to the device together with a folder.jpg for each album. So that can't be the cause. I don't know if my files have build-in album arts, but I doubt that they all have it. So since all the albums on my device have this problem, I doubt that build-in album art has anything to do with this either. Of course I could be wrong...
Did you have this problem before you did this your new way?

Yes. TD will automatically generate "folder.jpg" that's why I do 1 step ahead to create 1.
I delete all my mp3 files from TD InternalStorage(I got backup in my PC) . . . then I create lots of FOLDERS with each Singer names. Copy all my mp3 files to individually to each different Singer FOLDER, create each FOLDER with their individual Singer's image and renamed with "folder.jpg" and place within the FOLDER.
After that rename the "AudioManager_Eng.vol" to "AudioManager_Eng.vol.vol" (because can/t delete), do a soft reset.
Everything go fine.View attachment 106724

Thanks for the tips. I wasn't really considering going the custom ROM route just yet but it looks like I need to bite the bullet if it is the only solution to the sound pop/glitch issue. I noticed in the change log that there is mention of a sound fix for Audio Manager ('No more pausing bugs'), I take it this will also apply to other media players? As I only want to use PocketPlayer which, ironically, seems to exhibit this the problem the most, can someone confirm if they have an issue with this player using the SwiftBL 5.6 ROM?
I thing that nothing will happen while somebody report to HTC and do big bubble like with graphic drivers for Kaiser...
