I'm not completely sure what you mean by a wifi sender, not receiver, but if you want to be able to use your phone as a wifi hotspot, and utilise its GPRS/3G internet connection from a laptop, then you can use WMWifiRouter to do that (http://www.wmwifirouter.com/) - this is a commercial product, but there's a version you can find on the internet which was the last freeware version they did before it went commercial.
Is that what you meant?
Cheers,
Steve

WMWiFiRouter
WMWiFiRouter is one of the few commercial products that I have purchased for my WM devices (Tilt then Fuze). It is easily the best piece of software that I have purchased. It works great and is simple to configure. It does exactly what it says it does. I highly recommend purchasing the latest commercial version.
I am not affiliated with the company that sells the software, I am just a typical user that really likes the software.

p2p Softwere?

I was wondering if their has been any p2p software available for our phones? Something like a limewire mobile. The only thing ive found is an app called MopiPhant. Has anyone tried it out or anything else?

Are you serious ? Do you really want to do p2p on your phone ? Cause first, it will cost a lot on your phone bill and other point, UMTS connection will drain a lot your phone's battery.
i dont see a problem. i would do it over wifi eliminating these charges. then all i have to do it charge my battery then bam both ur problems solved.
I've tried this one: http://www.adisasta.com/wmTorrent.html, and it works fine. It will drain your battery in no time though, so it's usefullness is a bit limited because of that.

I agree, but the battery dies fast anyway. lol
I love being able to download a torrent on the fly, and brag to the people at work that can't do that with their iphone.
i love this app its freakin great
that adisasta program sucks balls it only downloads torrents it would be better if you could search em n downlooad
hahaha i absolutely agree with mike on that one, any other ideas?
File Sharing
Try Pocket G2 Pro for p2p via gnutella..i have a cab that i will upload once i get to my pc.
lol
I have soulseek torrent and emule on my 16gb 3g. works all fine up to 180kb/s
battery goes ok (downloading on the road with car charger...) XD

I could never get pocket G2 to connect. Both with wifi or data connection.
I also tried wmtorrent on my mogul and it ran really rough. I did manage to download a 700 mb file but the phone felt like it was on fire while plugged in so I just stuck to logmein.com to my desktop and using winamp remote or ORB.
I prefer a slightly different solution.
I configure my torrent client to allow web management.
I can then add to the client from my phone, and my PC will download.
Connection there is also much much faster than over GPRS, and most wifi connections I will be on.
I also setup a secure FTP at home, and have all completed torrents moved into the FTP folder.
I can then access the completed torrents via FTP on my phone, and download them quickly.

Using the Raphael as an External Wireless Card

Does anyone know if this follow scenario is possible?
I want to connect the phone up to my computer via BT or the USB cord, and then the phone will connect via WiFi (802.11b/g) to a wireless router. Can this be done?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. It can be done with a program like wifi internet sharing. I have not used it myself, but NRG has it in his newest rom. You will want to link up with the usb cord because anytime I have wifi and BT going at the same time (internet wifi and BT headphones) there is a conflict. I have also heard that it isn't a great program, but you can find out for yourself. Hope that helps.

I have to say that it does work. Im using NRG latest Energy rom, july 29, and i can share the internet from my fone to the laptop through wifi and connect the laptop to the internet. basically the fone works like a router... or u can also connect and share internet through usb... it seems to work just a lil bit faster.
I'm not sure how else to explain this. I'm NOT looking to use the cell phone's data plan. I AM looking to use the phone as a usb wireless (802.11b/g) adapter for the computer.
Anything like this?
The Wifi internet sharing is attempting the use of the data plan (no good for my situation).

u can always try to "obtain" a copy of wmwifirouter
This is just my opinion. It might be wrong!
If you've a computer that can connect to your cell phone with Bluetooth.
I'm quite sure that the computer must have Wifi function also.
Why you want to do some easiest thing to be much more complicated!
@navi_mapper:
Not always; I've seen some laptops with a Bluetooth only card, a WiFi only card, and Bluetooth/WiFi combo cards.
It likely the purchaser may not have chosen a combo option or the laptop came with Bluetooth only. Worst case, the laptop may have shipped with a legacy WiFi device and is too costly to replace.

Note that there are early versions of WMWifiRouter (up to V.91, IIRC) still available that were released without encumberance. While it might not be Chainfire's preference, it's not exactly discussing "warez" to use an older version. Granted - the person you're cautioning seems to be insinuating that you get a cracked version...
I recommend paying for it, though - the supported paid version is a lot more reliable (and you can actually uninstall it without borking your network setup). It also offers a very nice USB-to-Wifi interface. I think the free ICSControl offered elsewhere on this forum does the same (USB-to-Wifi), but in my brief experience with that program it was not as reliable as WMWR.

any ideas why wifi router works on some of my computers but not others. I am using it right now, but my computer downstairs does not see it at all. Have same issue at work some computers see the wifi signal some do not. Seems to be a windows security setting? Works great on computers that see it.

Hmm, haven't heard this one. My router is set to WPA-Personal/TKIP encryption and I can connect fine on all the ROMs I've used, try switching to that. Just out of curiosity, what type of router do you have? And what is ROM is your Wing running?
I just upgraded the rom to open touch 7 by ttran today. It's a belkin router.
That's wierd. I used almost all of ttran's ROMs including OT7.7biggy, never had any issues. It could be the router, but I don't know anything about Belkin firmware, mine is a Linksys. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. One more Q though, did this just start happening since you upgraded to OT7?
No, it has happened ever since i had the original rom.
Thanks for your help though.
This sounds like it could be a hardware issue. Like possibly your wifi isn't working on all 3 bands (b/g/n) like it should be. If a warranty or insurance replacement is an option for you, you may want to call T-Mobile about it.
I would like to but, I'v had this phone for almost two years. I think it could be the wireless router instead of the phone. I googled around and found out belkin routers had problems with windows mobile phones. Plus my phone can sitll connect to wireless in hotels.
Since i just got this new rom, do you have any good apps or programs you would suggest
Thanks
Yeah that sucks, I'm in the same boat with mine. Hoping it holds up long enough for me to get a Touch Pro2 this march when I get my upgrade. This is what I have on my Wing now, but you may want different app depending on your needs.

Here is the background of my question, I let a co-worker borrow my wireless adaptor for my xbox. No wouldn't it be awesome if you could use your Fuze to connect to the internet via wifi signal for xbox? Or even you wirelss provider (would probably go over 5gig cap though). Hey man that would be a rock solid idea.

NRG Puts the "WiFi Internet Sharing" application on all of his Roms. But I am sure that you could find it if you searched for it.
@Buffalo Your sig leads me to believe you have NRGZ28's latest Rom. You should be able to go to all programs and find this on the list.

but how would you then get the signal to the xbox? i didn't think either the 360 or original had a wireless card in it. You would need some type of adapter to go to the xbox that would allow it to connect. If you do find a way, let us know, I don't have a wireless bridge for my xbox, this would be useful.

I was wondering a way to bypass ms wifi adaptor
I have one already and I have another xbox, I know you can do it with a laptop and crossover cable but, I was just wandering and I am pretty sure that you will go over your internet cap if you played onlilne a good bit.
I send wifi from my phone to my laptop, and then cat5 to the xbox 360 to avoid having to buy the wireless adapter.
I never paid attention to usage though, my data is unlimited.
... but now i'm curious.
I'm curious too..
Anybody can post some usage stats.
OK.
2 hours Online
Data transfered: 351MB
Of which is uploaded data: 124MB
2 hours was about 12 / 13 games of halo 3
also, sat idiling in lobby for a while chatting to some friends in a party.
And - Pulled host in one game - lol
Intermittent Yellow bar Latency, meaning over 150ms to host, but green most of the time.
Not too bad, But if your on a data plan, then unlimited probably does not literally mean unlimited.
Most probably your isp / carrier will have a FUP (Fair usage policy) which will entitle you to a couple of GiB
Also - if your a 3g / hspda user, they can tell when you are tethering, and may not even count it to your bundle allowance.
I know T-Mobile in the uk here, used to not allow tethering, however, when web and walk came out, they changed their stand on that.

Tethering GTag through BB BT...

Talked my buddy into a Gtab after giving him a test drive on mine...
1 problem, his smart phone is through Sprint and he uses a Black Berry.
He connects his LT to the internet with a USB cable and his BB.
I thought I could set him up through Bluetooth, but I cant figure out how to tether the connection.
I can "pair" the 2 together no problem, but I dont have a clue how to make the internet connection.
He uses a Sprint program on his LT, so I'm wondering if there's a program that would do the same on the Gtab...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance...

I can get the 2 to "pair" without a problem, what I need is a terminal app to use the BB as a modem.
I know they do this on the iPad's all the time for the wifi only users.
I dont have enough experience with the Android OS to set this up.
I'm not even sure how to tether the Gtab to an Android phone.
Really need some help on this one or told it's not an option.
Thanks
As far as I know you can't do usb/bluetooth tethering atm . Unless someone manage to port over archos tethering protocol/tethering wizard.

I don't think it's an option direct from the GTab to the BB. I've been trying to get this to connect with my Storm 2, and have had no luck at all with it. Like you, I can pair the devices, but they won't connect. The only tethering software I can see that was worth a shot was Tether, and they don't support BB to Android.
Someone else in another thread pointed out a possible solution, a Cradlepoint CTR-350 Cellular Travel Router. You can connect your BB to create the access point, then connect the GTab to the 350. Runs about $77.00 from what I can tell online.

My wife uses a Nokia N97, and purchased the Joikuspot hotspot app. The G-tab can see the Nokia's hotspot once the ad-hoc wifi hack is installed.
Will do, but the more I look the more I like the CradlePoint PHS300 Personal Hotspot. Little more expensive, but might be worth it since it's battery powered.

I also like the suggestion about "HOT SPOT" app on the BB... Haven't checked that as of yet....
If we can get this through software, that would be so much better...
He uses a Sprint program on the laptop to connect so we know it has the
capabilities to work as a modem and he has internet access.
I'm wondering how the iPad folks use their phones to connect to the internet.
I know most have the WIFI only models and they tether through their phones.
He just ordered the 300.....
They are running a holiday special of $99 dollars and that includes a free second backup battery....
Regular price was over 200 with shipping.... Cost him 109 with shipping...
He figures he can use the hot spot for other users also. It supports up to 16 users at once.
His Sprint card was listed as a option so this is even a better solution.
Huge thanks for pointing us in the right direction.

??? I have PDANet on my Black Berry and PDANet on my GTab. On the BB, I selected Enabled Bluetooth DUN. The same thing for the GTab. Doesn't do anything.
I suspect both are listening for something to connect to them. Not sure how this is supposed to work.
I'm using it with wifi via my iphone...
Ah, that must be the key. You can't do it via bluetooth. You have to have a wifi connection to your phone.
The original posting asked how to do this via bluetooth.
PDAnet via usb requires a client on the client computer. I contacted PDAnet if they would create an android client for tablets and their answer, atleast for now, is we are SOL. Use BT DUN. But like the OP I cannot get my G tab to connect, only pair with my droid x or Aria. I don't know what is supposed to happen after turning on the BT DUN in PDAnet. Should the G tablet then be able to connect? Does some other software need to be run on the gtab to allow DUN connection?
