ekh, how to remove shortcuts from programs

hey guys, just a warning, dont install pocketdivx, its a piece of crap doest work, and then doesnt allow u to un-install it. i was able to find the pocketdivx files on my device, but theres still the shortcuts on the programs menu; how do i remove them?? thanks in advance. also, while we're on the topic, whats the best .divx player? i tried tcpmp, but its really choppy... thanks
omar
if you man the link, load up file explorer and go to
device\windows\start menu
you can delete from there.
got it, thanks
sooo, does anybody know a good divx player? or why does tcpm freeze every 2 seconds? thanks
have you tried playing with buffering in tcpmp?
Also, make sure that you have downsized the movies for PDA. there's a few freee and good programs out there that do this. The smaller, the better. A lot of data moves across that card

Anyone got any ideas?

how do i stream audio...?

Does anyone out there know how to stream audio from a website (specifically, archive.org's Live Music Archive)? It seems easy to do from a pc, but I can't figure out how to do it with my kaiser (or touch dual, for that matter). At the LMA, there are "m3u" files that can be streamed...no idea how to do that with my kaiser. Is there software that I need? I checked, and there IS a "streaming media player" in my windows dir (I'm running 6.0)...but how do I use it? There is an option on the LMA's site to "embed this"...what does this mean? I apologize if I'm putting this ? in the wrong place (please move it if so), or if there is an answer here somewhere, but I've been looking for the better part of a week, and I can't find one. Maybe I'm just an idiot... Also, I've seen rumors of software that can actually capture and SAVE streaming audio...how is this done? What progs will do this, if any exist? Can I do it with my phone? Please help a thoroughly confused soul :~
You can open the m3u with TCPMP for example, and it should stream, at least it works with webradios.
Winamp has a "Streamripper" plugin that can save the stream to disk that I'm actually using right now, but I'm not aware of an equivalent on the phone.

Cellular Video restored? How?

I'm using aruppenthals rom and would like ot get CV back on this device. There is a post on NAFT's thread (v3.2 ... 4 Flavors Total) where he says to go to post 4 and download the modified Opera.ini file, drop into Windows\Opera9 and install the cab file to make this feature work again. I can find neither file anywhaere. Can someone tell me where to find theese items and something a little more specific than 'somewhere in the 148 page thread.
you can use these two cabs and it should work again for you. one is the CV and the other is realplayer not to be confused with REALONE player. the actual controls will be a little garbled in the player since this was a cab Sakajati (chef) extracted for the tilt (qvga). vids play fine though.

All in one solution
Use the attached file, it an all in one solution. It will install Real Player and Cingular Video and it's much smaller footprint. Just remember to change your user agent to HTC-8900 with Advanced Config and to run the Hidden proxy.
only problem with that cab is it will keep asking you to save them to the device first. my cab will stream them, no need to save them.
I've tried both with no success. Either way Real palyer does not even open. The 'Streaming Media' player opens and then errors out saying something about not being able to. I'm guessing that it is not set to be the default player in this rom. I'm using rup's 3.3 .
First off you need to change the Opera.ini file. Its located (some ROM's may vary) in the "Windows" under the "Opera9" folder.
Lately there have been a lot of errors "File re-entry not allowed" with Streaming Media Player. I think it is a compatibility issue with the ROM's.
If you are getting this error there is no need to change it to Real Player if you don't want to. I am not going to take credit for this, just in finding it. I would give the page where I found it, but unfortunately I cant remember where. Below is a cab, install it to your device and it should play video again just fine. The only problem right now is the fact that the player doesn't match the screen size, but at least the videos play.
Both these files are in my CAB FILES BELOW on 4shared under AT&T Fuze, cab's, "fixes".

They won't work because streaming media player has registry settings to open when you click the button to stream the content. Most custom ROM's now come with it built in and make it uninstallable.
In order to change the "streaming content" to Real Player would require you to change those settings. Can be done, but without being able to delete the streaming media player, to me its just a waste of space.

So I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm sorta in the dark here. First off, it's taken me forever just to find a download of the AT&T CV cab file! (This is actually more about the blood feud between me and the XDA search engine. )
I seem to be missing something, though. Where do these two cabs, Opera.ini and Diamond Streaming Media, fit in the whole CV solution? Am I still supposed to install the 'ATT_Cellular_Video_v2.cab', but use this streaming media cab instead of the RealPlayer cab above? What if I already have streaming media installed? (Which I do. Using EnergyROM 3.0)
Also, for god only knows what reason, when I tried to start CV after installing the cab provided above, it started PIE, NOT Opera. And it said it couldn't find the "http://cingularvideo.cingular.com", which is what it defaulted to.
I've seen about a dozen postings about the Opera.ini file, but none of them tell you what to do after that! I suppose if you've gotten the "only on 3G" error, you're already far enough ahead of me to know that!
Anyway, If the CV app tries to get to a site that doesn't even exist, where do you go from there?!?
Hell, I don't even fully understand what the "CV" app itself does, if you can go through a browser and have some streaming video app installed, then what does this app do? Obviously, I've never even gotten that far!
BTW, I have tested to make sure my device it attached to the web. I can reach anywhere else. I'm also set up to use wap.cingular, and I have the hidden proxy installed.
Basically, I need help understanding which of the above installation files goes with which, and what the CV app is supposed to do when it starts, since I assume opening IE to go to an address it can't reach is not standard behavior!
Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!
P.S. The Opera.ini cab above contains an "Opera.ini.txt" file. Shouldn't it just be Opera.ini?

WMV on TCPMP

Hello all (Freaks ,Nerds, and all other Crecks) i´m a newby here because my
english is Bumpy but i hope you now what i mean.
Do anyone here know the way to compleed assoziations of TCPMP-0[1].72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.cab (runn´s verry good on my Touch-pro) to play WMV Files ?
Change bevor, on the PC with (for Example) the Programm "Super" is not rearly good if im not at my Home.
Thanks for every Idea
Bernd35
Please answer for me "lik a child" and ill understand verry Better
every day a little bid ;oD
did you install the cab yet? to do that, copy it over to your device and open up 'file explorer'. then find the saved cab and open it up in file explorer. This will install it.
If it is installed already, and it still doesn't work, you will need a registry editor or the program 'total commander' to change the association (assuming tcpmp play wmv files). If that's the case, post again and I'll give you directions.
edit:
Oh, on rereading your post, it looks like you already have your program up and running. find and instal total commander. Find one of your files, right click (hold down on icon) and click on properties. Click associate tab. Click associate. For the command, type in "\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe" including quotes. You may need to edit the command for your devices settings. Under parameter, type "%1" including quotes. For icon file, type '\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe' WITHOUT the quotes. Index is '-1000' WITHOUT the quotes. You may need to soft reset to get it to work.
I had the same problem with .mp4 files. I made the association using a registry editor, but I think this way is easier. If this doesn't work, post again and I'll dig out the registry settings.
I assume you have...
Clicked options,
settings,
Select page--File associations
checked 6th box??? (Windows Media File (WM,WMV))
Check your file associations.
Thanks for your answer´s, Atachments show my Condition until NOW
i`ll reply again if I sucsessfully (or not ) and why i belive so.
See you again,
Bernd35
Hi again
i testet the asotiation with the extention :"associate selected Program with this file typ":
WMV file with TCPMP .
Answers are :
1.) Player: AUdio codec (WMV) not supportetby the player!
2.) Player: Video codec (WMV 8 ) not supportet by the player!
I understand this because The Pictures, iload up jesterday, show this-.
In foretime i remember i have a VLC Player on my PC with an extra downloaded Codec add on .
Do everybody have a Idea to have a WMV ad on for the TCPMP-Player?
Bernd35
I'm running .72RC1...have you ried associating with EVERY type of file? The only thing I don't check are picture files (bmp, jpg). and eveything works fine. Is it on only one file giving you the error or all?
Dear Telegraph0000
you are correct; i do not read "All Files"- ; but i still hope it is a possibillity to do that.
In the meantime i found a site with "Core Player", and read that this is a following Player to TCPMP but its not free - .
i do not wish, to buy a kompleetly new Player for one file-asiotiation because i am verry sadisfact with the TCPMP the last years.
My meening: The Media-player is SH.., totally old, and unflexibel, therefore i used the TCPMP a verry long time. I think the positive feathures are everybody knows.
sorry for the Rumple, Bumple of my englisch, it´s like a defekt Mixer and i hope you understand nevertless nearly what i mean.
Best greetings Bernd35
Forgotten : every WMV-File will not work.
