Does any one know where can i find "voice dial" utility for MDA III English version

I'm using Vito VoiceDialerPE and it works great

Hi,
the English ROM for the MDA III (which is IMHO german, it's sold under different names outside of Germany) is the one for the i-mate... this version doesn't not have voice dialing integrated, you will need to buy additional software. I use MS Commander and like it a lot... it's a little hard to use in public as the commands are not always recognized right away, but it still is pretty good.

I have just downloaded VoiceCentral V2.0 just started to use it, but it seems you have to train it if anybody could give me some pointers on how to use this software while i am driving, coz so far it's not been that accurate for me (only had it a week).
Also, if anybody wants it, i could upload it for you to download and try out?

Any better than TomTom?
My only problem with the Taster version of TomTom was that I couldn't download a map of Toronto (Canada).
Only had the choices of the US or Europe. Thanks for thinging of us Canucks HTC/TomTom....

I used it exclusively on my wizard. However I have heard of issues with IG4 with the GPS lagging behind the actual so have been hesitant to install. Have you seen that issue?

I haven't installed it yet.
May do it tonight, and I'll let you know tomorrow.

I've been using iGuidance v4 for a while on Hermes and now on Kaiser. It's very stable, you can even turn the phone off (standby) and back on and routing will resume.
v4 does now have "hibrid" TextToSpeech where is uses it's normal voice for the bulk of the directions and true TTS just to speak the name of the street. The accents differ slightly bit it's not too bad.
There are reg hacks that can force all TTS and no TTS (like prev versions). TTS does use more processing and can induce slightly more delay but the app works pretty good and doesn't lag behind, but 's close. When I forced all TTS, it did lag. If you killed TTS and ran it like previous versions, it would be very snappy, but I do like the street names.
I loaded TomTom and played with it but took it off in favor of iGuidance, but I've always like iGuidance's GUI as the overall best for my style.
I just wish Garmin would sell a S/W only package for PPC, I like theirs the best I think.

Navigon 6 in USA

Is Navigon PDA software available with USA maps for Tilt? I have seen it advertised in Europe but it looks like it only has European maps and it also looks like it only works on WM smartphones (not touchscreens). Thanks

Yeah, but you have it misspelled. It's Navizon. It does work on touchscreen devices and is pretty decent location software.

Ah, I see, sorry for that. Their names are too close together...oh well, Navizon is still worth a look in lieu of Navigon.

I've just tried Mobile Navigator 6.2 on my Kaiser, working well (but with european maps) -
the only thing i have noticed: it's damn slow to start up the software.... no idea if there are american maps....

I also have MN6 installed on my Kaiser.
But i have optimizes the startup sequence and the working speed.
Now it start in about 7sec
there´s a howto on the pockenavigationforum (German)
you can find it here
There is also an MortScript-Script ( ), what automaticily optimize navigon (take about 2-3min on kaiser) --> find it here
i can translate and post it here if someone need this

I have the North America Map it's about 1.65GB for Navigon, it has nice graphics and also includes the original icons for Gas Stations, like chervron, shell etc...Restaurants as well and many other POI. I don't use it no more because it takes a long time to startup and sometimes it crash. I like tomtom better.

El Toro... How can I get a copy of this map from you? By any chance, do you live in El Toro California? I live in Irvine, and I could actually just meet up with you! And do you happen to have Nacigon Navigator 6? Ive been looking for this for ages! Anyhow, let me know if we can work something out!

Neudy... Unfortunately, staring at these sites has not made any sense to me. I currently run a Motorola Q9h, and I am wondering if theres a way you can either translate or post that "modification" for me so that it starts faster? Please let me know!!

Can you post how to get the latest software and the NA Maps by any chance?

It's damn slow on v5 too
Disabling sound has speeded it up a bit as well as disabling HTC Home, but I'd like to dig further and if possible speed it up.
Such as, how much speed would be gained by installing the software in the main memory compared to the mSD card. The map is 110mb so I don't really want to put that in main memory

I am only using WM5 at the moment, which is a tad out of date. But I would certainly consider upgrading to v6+ if possible. I sooo prefer this over MioMap or TomTom

I do recall some issues recently that there isn't a PDA version available in the USA. PNA yes, but not PDA UK does have the software available. One option would be to find out if you can use UK software and american maps.

I tested the last weeks 2 Navigationsoftware the MN7 and iGo8 on my XDA Star (Dual touch).
iGo8: Speed, Clear interface
Navigon: Nicer Interface, better TTS, better routes
iGo8 Disadvantages: Teleatlas Maps if none leads me in my region on street are, whether to me also in foreign areas passed.
Navigon Nachteile: GPS Hardware settings manual, the double of space need iGo8 with same maps and tts.
I am gelegenheits Navinutzer, however, if I needs then I must be able to count on the calculated routes above all in Denmark and in the direction of Bavaria.
I manage with both well, and the prices also are quite the both. Can you express your opinion in addition? Or your experiences here reinschreiben? Thx...

Navi for WP7

No, not exactly. Navigon only works for like 4 countries and if you look through this forum i think there are a few navigation apps out there.

Navigon works with every european country as long as you have the corresponding iPhone Navigon maps and with the rest of the world if you bother to read a bit and change a few settings manually

Thats true I am using it myself and you can get almost any country, however it is a free t-mobile app and it is limited to a basic format but its is functional and works well.

I saw the map of Poland at Navigon and they are miserable and are not valid for several years

i have a Navigon select now and applied some maps from iphone (originally only four country available).
so i got all EUROPE where uk, france, belgium, netherland,germany and POLAND!!!
i tested myself and i'm glad to say that that all is up to date. sometimes better than tomtom maps in poland.
navi software is way whorse than tomtom but maps are great.

You know, I prefer to measure with better than average.
tom tom is a mistake, still on Polish maps dont have some streets in Warsaw.
I'm also tested the Navigon and current maps of WP7 (iphone) are outdated.
if anyone can find an idea how to insert a map from version 6.5 or 7.4 that would be super.

Navigon will work on WP7, if you have the navigon maps of Iphone.

Ok so just to get it straight, if I want to use Navigon on my windows phone
I need to download the I Phone maps
(which aren't the same as the Android Navigon maps, currently Q4 2010 ? ).
Then I need to install the T-Mobile (light) Navigon Software i.e. without street-view and stuff (--> Were do I get this app, googled but couldn't find it)

There is a way although it requires more work. Just read the corresponding topic in the Windows Phone 7 general section of the site.

When I installed a patched version, it immediately downloaded German, Austrian, Lichtenstein and Swiss maps. Fine by me. I added Luxemburg, the Netherlands, the UK and Belgium for now.

Actually, Navigon / iPhone maps have better coverage than Polish famous Automapa. The number of POIs is also reasonable.

There is a new app in marketplace Ato B maps. I hope that has the turn by turn voice navigation feature. I'll try it while I go home and update you guys
