I just want to report 'accident' I had 2 hours ago.
I was running out of battery so I pluged it into my laptop.
But wasn't to fast with adjusting option 'charging while hooked in PC' so battery went down. After this I manage to switch it on and charging when on...I went out for 15 min and when I returned TD2 started to switch on and off...only the touch diamond 2 sign (with vibration) appeared and after 2 sec it switch off....constantly!!!
I went crazy...when I pulled the pug out it was dead...couldn't even switch it on.I pluged it in again and again the same behaviour....
Then I tryed hard reset but without success!!!
I almost ****ed my pants...
then I got the message that 'power is too low to operate'
So I used regular charging method and after 2 1/2 hours battery was recharged...Now I switched it on and it works...seems everithing is normal
If you run into same problem don't panic!!!!
things like this doesnt happen on D2 only, but happens on all electronics which required power... it happens to my nokia all the time... when batt is low, it switches off... when i turn on, it would start and stay for a couple of second, then off again.... it will keep doing that until batt turns empty....
when the batt is really really low or empty, it does take a few moment to charge up the batt to a level enough for the system to operate.... hence, you cant even turn on your phone during this time...
I wouldn't charge when in sync with PC. I've read that it isn't so good for the battery, so I disabled charge when connected to PC (settings - all settings - battery)

Hello, when I got my g1 it wouldn't charge phone would boot up when it was plugged in the light would come on and it would display "charging 0%" on the lock screen and would shut off whenever it was unplugged, with some messing around, rebooting removing reinstalling battery and plugging and unplugging the phone I managed to get it to start charging, all was great other than the battery only lasted like 3 hours, and whenever the phone lost power either by pulling the battery or even shutting it off properly it would revert back to 0% and wouldn't charge again till I messed with it and it would work again, so I ordered a new battery, when it came in I installed it and everything was awesome, I could restart the phone or remove the battery flash roms all that good stuff like it was supposed to, till yesterday, I have had the replacement battery about a month now and my phone was running low on charge since I wouldn't be home for a while I shut it down to save it for later, I was walking by the phone sitting there and I saw the back light turn on and off so I thought dang back to the same ol problem, tried to turn it on and just a dim red led and no power on, when I got home plugged it in let it charge for a few min and held the power button I got the red led and it finally turned on to "charging 0%" I was mad at it tested voltafe at battery terminals and phone terminals plugged in power everywhere it should be but still no turn on, I didn't my messing around again and got it to charge but it was back to 3 hour or so battery life and it would be at 0% if I shut it down, I don't think its the connection with the battery because I haven't removed it in a good 3 weeks or shut the phone off since my last flash 3 weeks ago.
It did this with the first battery before I rooted but here's current setup
Phone is black g1 drea100
Rom htc adp-drc83 rooted base with exp pack
Radio 2.22.19.26I
Recovery ra-dream-v1.5.2
Thanks for any help
Hi!
I have a Xperia X1 that suddenly dies! (from anny level of battery) Some times I can use the phone for hours, sometimes minutes before it turnes off without anny warning.
When i restart it, the battery seams to be almost empty. So it goes from fully loaded to empty in seconds in worst case.
But it in some way i don't belive the battery has been drained, because sometimes when I charge it for a short period of time it´s back on 100%.
Anyone recognise the problem and have any solution?
Battery broken? New battery?
change your battery, 100% battery problem.
probably battery, yeah. but a slight chance that it's rom-related as well... (try another one or hardreset if you're on stockrom)
you can try this as well, it's supposed to recalibrate the batt-sensor:
- let it go empty
- turn the phone on again (should turn off within a few seconds)
- turn it on again, let it go off
- remove the battery
- press and hold the power-button for 30 secs (to drain the charge which keeps your clock running)
- put battery back in
- let it charge without turning the phone on! (wall-charger)
when it's fully charged - try...
don't do this too often, lithium-batteries don't like being discharged completely many times... but you're probably in for a new battery (or phone, that is )
edit:
have you tried the new stock-spl 0.78?
there are claims it fixes some battery-issues. i didn't notice any difference from 0.72, but some people are adamant about it... ^^
The other day I was in a hospital and my phone was next to the bed but the charger wire was tangled in the bed. So a nurse came up and rolled out the bed and the phone fell from quite high on the (hard) floor.
It still worked, screen wasn't cracked so I didn't think much of it.
But now, the phone can be charged with the charger. As soon as I unplug the charger there are 2 things that can happen:
1. The phone keeps saying it's charging. Other than that the phone is fully functional. Battery drain is much higher though, in 10 minutes I lose 7% battery.
2. The charging icon in the battery will flash on and off. When I switch off the screen, the lock-screen immediatly turns on and the text charging blinks, it's like someone is plugging in the charger and takes it out immediatly, battery drain is even higher when this occurs, I lose 50% within the hour, depending of what I'm doing.
Sometimes the problem is not there, the phone will function normally, but the problem will come back within 1 or 2 hours and usually when I plug in a charger and take it out later. Also, sometimes it seems the phone is not charging and the charge indicator will stay at a certain percentage but when I reboot the phone it it fully charged (according to the indicator).
First I thought it was an android problem. But when I switch off the phone the charging image appears as well and starts blinking, also the menu and back button flash on and off. It's also quite difficult to switch on the phone at this point and the battery image shows only the outline of the battery, not how much charge is in it.
So far I tried 2 other chargers, 2 other batteries (1 original Samsung and 1 after market). Rebooted the phone many times and left the battery out for an hour.
Anyone knows of what causes such a problem? Of course, the fall was the start of the problem. Could there be some pins bent in the usb socket of the phone?

I had a problem recently in which even though I kept my phone on charging (and it showed that it is charging), the battery percentage either remained same or it went down even though it was plugged in.. went to samsung and they said the usb port is damaged and they replaced it.. I think the same resolution will be for your problem
Mmm....makes sense. What does Samsung charge for that?

Ok so i spend 2 hours looking for a similar problem and potencial tricks to fix it with no aveil..... basically if i turn on my phone without being connected to a charger, the phone will show the samsung logo and shutdown after 2 seconds. Now if i connect it to the charger the phone will start but shutdown as i approach to slide it... then tried getting into recovery mode without the charger and it woul'd just show the blue guy ( clockwork) for 1 second and shutdown... then i tried getting into recovery mode with the charger connected and it worked so i wiped the cache and wiped the data.. so after the formating was done i disconnected it and turned it on and still same problem... so i plug the charger and turn it on again, now iam in the welcome screen and as it get to the setting up of wifi screen, it shuts down but if i stay in the welcome part it will stay on??? and never shutdown unless i finish the set up, after clicking finish the phone will shutdown!!!
- Tried everything, ranging from pulling the battery for 30 minutes to fully charging it.. which i noticed that it wont fully reach to top..
- However the phone does allows me to to get into download mode without the charger being plugged in
- Its a galaxy s3 from tmobile on 4.3 firmware rooted
- All of this happened because i left a game open while it was connected to pc.. it looks like the phone needed more energy than the pc was providing so it drained the battery.. when i woke up it was charging with a thermostat sign ( yes it was very hot)
battery lasted a whole day so i dont think its a dead battery
It should like a duff battery
Hi all,
2 days ago I decided to calibrate battery, which is done by fully charging phone, then fully discharging phone with normal use. But phone turns off at 1% and doesn't fully discharge, so I turned it back on and stayed alive for 40mins at highest brightness watching videos on Facebook until finally turned off.
Then fully charge your phone while device is off, (but because device fully drained will be a bit tricky to charge it, don't know why, look like keeps 1% of charge to save charging settings or something) anyway, after a few attempts of plug in and un plug I managed to get it charging, and charged in full.
Result:
Better battery life, obviously. And the strange one is that refresh rate drop when unlocking device as stopped and device is smooth everytime, been over 2 days now without a single drop. Not sure how is this related but this happened with me, free to try it if you wish.
Thought to share my experience.
Happy to answer questions
How did you turned on? After i get the notification that in 30 seconds phone will shutdown, it does shutdown and when i keep pressed the power button its powering, showing mi logo then one logo with empty battery and shuts down again.
