Battery Issue..

I am using and AT&T Tilt. I recently flashed Schap's 4.30 rom. Before then I was using the stock rom. Before the upgrade, I was charging the battery not earlier than 3 days, but after the upgrade my battery is draining lot faster.
But there is another issue. At 5:00 pm the charge level was 99% and at 12:30 am it was 85%...But in the morning at 6:30 am it was under 10% (the phone was in sleep mode during the night)..
Any suggestions to deal with this weird situtation ? It is draining extremely faster during the night.

I have two suggestions for you.
1) Read\Post in the Schaps Rom thread and see if others have battery issues.
2) SEARCH. See my sig.

Thank you for your kind suggestions. I already searched the thread before I posted the message.
And the cause of the problem might not be Schap's ROM. The reason I posted my message here is to learn if there is a COMMON tweak in Kaiser that I might consider.

I guess I thought that logically if your battery was good before the Schaps Rom and then went bad after the flash that the issue was due to the flash. There is no widespread battery issue with the Tilt and so there is no COMMON tweak. My guess is that there is something turned on in the Rom that is running and draining the battery, i.e. checking for emails constantly, GPS, or many other possibilites.
If you did indeed search then I am sure you found days worth of reading because your question has been asked many, many times.

I dunno about that, but of course it's not so much a battery issue as it is a battery "drain" issue. Some of us in 3G areas see the battery tapped out by mid afternoon with normal use.

To me it seems you have a program that keeps the device running when it should be on standby.
What software have you installed? For example, with both my Kaiser and Hermes if I have A2DPToggle installed and its today plugin active the device won't go to standby anymore and will drain the battery in a few hours. S2U2 isn't that bad but will sometimes turn the phone on (with screen staying off) for a moment to do whatever it wants. For example during a 8hr night my uptime counter will have counted about 30 minutes. Might be the auto change wallpaper thing.

After installed S2U2 on Diamond

Did any feel that the battery life is getting shorter after S2U2? Mind is almost 20% less, how's yours?

any ideas?

It's a copy of the iPhone lock screen. It works very well on my Hermes - haven't tried it on my Diamond yet.

I think S2U2 is a great application but I also feel that the battery drains alot faster! So I have temporarily changed it to ThrottleLock to test this out.

yes its a sucker for battery life....! i'd say around the 20% mark too...!

s2u2 is really a big drain on your battery..

My battery with S2U2 drained very fast ... It was able to work for 10 Hours ... So i decided to bye bye S2U2 and never again ... 10% per hour ... this is sick !

Maybe you should go to the developer threat and search for version 1.21c, this solved my power drain problem,

It might just be me, however i have been using s2u2 for a long time now, and dont seem to have the battery drain. Fully charged at 8am this morning, small phone call download imap email. Left turned off most of the time today, its now 15:00 and the batter is still at 90%. Im sitting in a great hsdpa area in Bath. Wifi is tunred off, turned on for email.

There's a new version out (1.22) you should try this.

Battery drainage

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you who are using Touch Pro had a this problem: my battery drains very fast AFTER I use programs like tomtom or skype- I mean that after I close these programs (or other) and charge the battery to full level it drains very fast. The only solution I found so far is to soft reset.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey the battery life isnt great, but you can do something to make it better. There are currently three + threads opened discussing the battery life problems. Try one of those. The next time you post it might help to search and include your ROM, Radio, and location information.

Please help me my battery drain quickly after upgrading wm6.1
Hello, ive problem after upgrading my dopod 838 pro to wm61. crc 13.3 rom normal, my battery very fast draining, I try also many rom, its still the same. if i make a video call my phone suddenly shut down, i think my battery run out 5% to 10 Percent every minutes. After full charge of my battery only can use around 5-10 minutes. the most worse if my battery full charge i only can acess to internet not more then 5 minutes.
Firstly i thought my battery is dead. when i bought a new battery still the same problem no change.
Please help me..any idea.
* it is possible if to downgrade my official rom wm 5? btw i upgrade my SPL V9 2.60 too.
im panic now, please help me. what should i do???

Best battery rom?

Hi, has tried some of the rooms here, but is wondering if anyone can recomend a room whit good batterylife?
I have one energy room now, and like the work all the room bulders have done, but really need more battery.

Really depends on what radio you use also..
but I found Topix to be good on battery.
Turning off 3G will save you alot of battery, and putting your back light onto auto or turning it right down.
How much battery do you get currently?

I think that auto backlight use a lot of power because the light captor is always on. So, i recommend you to set the backlight to about 25 percent and to disable 3G when you don't use it. There are a lot of tip you can find yourself by exploring your Blackstone a little more

The wifi is almost always off. Backlight is manualyset to lov on batt.
The 3g is in use, and have push mail on.
If this is the reason for battery is lov, i really cant have this phone. Im getting bored of running out of battery if im out on the town, or if i want to lisen to music.

Push mail can be problematic.
So, every HTC user who really enjoys his phone has to charge it every night.

I leave 3G turned off, have emails sync every 2hours, backlight set to auto, wifi off, text quite alot through the day and a few phone calls.
My battery can last 2 - 3 days easy

Rilphone is the .dll file which communicates between your phone and the radio.
I recommend radio 1.17.25.09 and Rilphone 1.14.25.24

Have you tried ril 1.15?

I'm also using Rill 1.15 and battery life is better than with rill 1.14
Try for a few days like 4 or 5, than you will observe that battery usage is good. Usage is always higher with WM 6.5 than stock.

I was also having battery consumption problems; i have been doing some test and there are some things to take into cosideration:
- If you've been tying Android you must hard reset because it can mess up battery usage.
- Radio 17....... is giving some people (me for example) high battery usage so i've downgraded to 15...
- With radio 15 and Energy Rom (wm6.5 + sense 2.1) with no mail running or any apps istalled, batt is excellent; good for 2 or 3 days no prob.
- I added my gmail account with sync every 5mins and battery usage stills seems to be more than reasonable.
- I have now added my hotmail account using push and i'll report back to see what the results have been.
- It is also a good idea to recalibrate the battery; let your phone run it all the way down until it switches off, then put it on charge for a whole night (without turning it on), this should recalibrate the battery drivers.

Thats my routine too... but only because i use my phone as a music player... A LOT!!!...
during normal "light" use (couple brief calls, some SMS, emails and Twitter updates through 3G, Wi-fi off, bluetooth headset On) my battery can last 2 days with 15 or 10% left at the end of the second day...
the two things i saw that "corrode" battery energy are:
-Wi-Fi
-Music/Video Player (Manilla, WMP or whatever)
Data connection through 3G or Edge are also consuming... but if using few and brief times during the day the impact on battery duration is low...

Sorry to sound extremely sad...but I tried all the ROMS etc for batt life.
Love the Energy ROMS...my fav all time! But just found batt life drained too fast (plus memory slowly creeps up too high)!
So, I went back to the ROM that just gives me the best performance and batt life...Dutty's 6.5 R15...yes I know, the same one Moses used, but just too stable and functional not to have!!
I can go 4 days with normal daily use!

thanks first_damned for answering my question. I was wondering if the HSPL better than USPL ... Mine is al also HSPL using the same Radio 1.17 + Ril 1.15. however, my phone battery life is not as good as yours. Do you have any more tips for improving my phone battery usage?

I have a gt-n7000 and am curious as to what others are experiencing with there notes, with wireless on and sync, and brightness turned all way down, I'm getting a 10% drain per hour. this is of course while on it the full hour. is this normal am on rr-romjb-v2, now v3 and same.. can I hear from others as to there experiences.. thanks.

did you move on to RR from a full wipe ? if not i would suggest to do so.
also, download better battery stats from the market, this will inform you of which apps are causing wakelocks and draining battery unnecessarily

It depends on your usage
With wifi and sync on, I lose about 1% per hour in deep sleep
And with moderate usage(texting and calls), I lose about 5 to 8%
And a screen on time of 3.30 to 4.30 hours

with screen and WiFi on .. 10 percent is pretty much standard drain.. it will increase if you turn on the sync...
on GB I could use my phone continuously for 5.5 hours.. on leak jb it's 3.5 to 4 hours

Wish to thank all that replied, I had went back and started from scratch after wiping the hydracore7 and went back to hydracore4.5 and it seemed to be better as far as batt life, not sure how that works.. but yeah 10% seems to be the brick in the window average. With wifi on and low bright setting, maybe 9percent with sync on as well. thanks guys... looking forward to the official jell.
