Poll for Most Desired Apps - G1 Apps and Games

I am posting a few options but we can add more. Let's do a poll on the most desired apps:
1. Free/No subscription GPS app
2. Good car racing game using accelerometer
3. App to explore/edit ext2/ext3 files
4. App to backup all apps and re-install in bulk.
5. Flash 10
Please feel free to add or suggest additions.

"There is an app for that..'' : Root Explorer Just go to system/sd and there is your ext2/3.

I would like a NICE looking monopoly game and an app that enables sending and recieving via OBEX without the need of root.

poll every month?
Based on the most desired apps at a certain time, this poll should be done every month so the developers can see what the users want.
What do you guys think?

Free/No subscription GPS app
have your heard of andnav or andnav 2 respectively.
take a look at it at http://www.andnav.org

sadly, andnav has no US support.

I chose app filtering because now that 'Waze' is out all the GPS and Car game stuff has been done. I still would like VLC on the phone though.

An an offline GPS app.

Free Task Manager

Is there some Free Task Manager for android?
Not that I've seen. If you have root and any build of Cupcake, it's already sort of built in...you can force close apps from their menus in the Application list (within settings). If you're only looking for force closing things, there's a couple apps for that already. That's the only purpose I see for any task manager.
@ lukekirstein
Speed I prefer not to waste time going throught all that just to stop a few apps. Task managers does it with only 2 or 3 clicks/touches.
there used to be a free version of Advanced Task Manager (Lite). there seems to only be a paid version of the app on the market now, but it's only $0.99 and does exactly what you want.
I have the lite version, if you want it post your email and ill send it to you

the developer may have taken it down for a reason i don't think $0.99 is a lot of money to pay, especially if it is to support an app developer...
actually it's simple app - and if there is no free app - i'll make some (not so beatiful) but something

Most imp tablet specific app needed?

Hi guys,
I really want to love the Xoom, I like android a lot and the hardware is too good (at least at this point)
But I not in place where I can drop my iPad for good. The reasons are pure app specific, if I get these decent on Xoom... it's bye bye iPad.
So this is a quasi-'need help' thread. to double check if I'm not missing anything
1. Magazine app - Something like Zinio, I depend too much on it and couldn't find even an ETA on when Zinio will be available for Android
~ Solved. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11939617&postcount=5
2. Comics reader - I know we have the Comics app but I need a cbr/cbz reader. I tired AVC but doesn't seam to work on Honeycomb
~ Solved. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11939617&postcount=6
3. A UI-nice IM app. I love the Gtalk app but need facebook and skype IM app
4. Netflix app.
5. Tablet specific twitter, facebook, foursquare apps. I know iPad doesn't have FB or FS apps but this would be nice
6. Now the big big deal... I consider all these tablets as a 'consumption' devices, and the biggest thing I 'consume' is movies and tv shows...
The best thing about iPad is, I just launch iTunes app then rent a movie, wait for sometime and then enjoy the movie...
Is there a way I can get this experience on a Xoom? I know that right now most of the HD formats play on tegra but is there any hope to get this?
~~~~~~~~~~
Disclaimer: Please don't pounce on this post and call me a iFreak. I'm not trying to diss the Xoom or Android. I did search and try apps to see if I could get all this... but couldn't find a way. So before I make a decision I just wanted some opinions.
thanks
Don't forget the completely absent Google Docs app! Someone please tell me its in the works....
If you download Spare parts and unselect Compatibility mode AVC works great. i have been using it for days now with no FC.
Zinio works great. I use it on my Xoom and Galaxy Tab.
Have you tried jj comic viewer for comics? i cant confirm it works on 3.0 but it is the best ive found pre HC
A Market app that works...
Searches properly so you can find those Apps you want that may exist but you would never know.
Recognizes applications that have updates properly.
Doesn't randomly open other app's.
Actually installs Apps the first time you ask for them.
And why Google is at it, Tablet Section - more direct support on the Web Market while the programmer who is assigned to the tablet market app figures out how to code - bug fix.
(yes I am frustrated with the market today)
I don't remember if manga watcher loads cbz and crz files but in general it is really good app. It was recently updated to load local files from sd so it might be worth checking out. I know the dev does alot of work and updates it frequently. You might even write him and ask if he plans to add support for these files if they aren't already supported. I bought the full app and have been happy with it ever since.
All I have to say is Samurai Executioner.
podcast app?
what podcast app do you guys use? im looking for a automatic downloader, like itunes.
10 characters
You could use Juice and have it download podcasts into a folder that Audiogalaxy, subsonic, or google music beta is watching and then just listen to them as they download and appear automatically.
Google listen works great for me.
Yeah same here, really like it.
What does Dogcatcher and BeyondPod offer that Google Listen doesn't? I've started listening to podcasts a lot and curious if I should try these other apps.
Question: Any of these allow you to mark for offline listening/watching? Sort of like a..."Download now" button? Rather stream it...
doggcatcher is by far the most feature rich of the apps. i listen to at least 40 weekly podcasts (long commute, lots of driving for work) and I have tried all of the major apps. It even has a honeycomb layout (although that needs polishing). As far as the distinctions, it allows you to set both universal and podcast specific settings as far as autodownloads, listing, delete policies, etc. Its podcast search features are also outstanding. Another feature I use its backup and import/export abilities which means I can keep my settings between rom flashes, devices, etc... I could go on...
I encourage the other poster who said he was building his own (something I did a while back, but abandoned) to keep pushing the improvement. Things that would be cool are cloudsync (just track progress, read/unread, etc), better tablet layout, and better widgets.
but simple answer to OP: doggcatcher
Worth every penny, Kind of a turn off that there wasn't a lite version that I could test with, but you know..15min window. but everyone reading this...believe me....WORTH IT 100%.
Thank you diaa08 for recommending this application. I am now using it on my Tablet as well as my Phone. ;-)
Have tried the app on 7392, 7004, 7712 and 7720 (whilst upgrading yesterday). Same issue with sporadic load on all O/S versions, seems to be hit and miss on each page because if you reload enough it will eventually work.
SeeMe GPS Real Time Tracker [2.1+]
New realtime web tracking system, runs on any phone 2.1+
You can send links to people you want to share your position with. Has configurable "update" times and shows last update/update interval/battery status on the web tracking page (useful for example when you are outside, roaming wilderness for many hours and need to save those last 10% of battery by turn long update interval - people watching you do not freak out, why didn't you move for a long time).
Current status: works, I am optimizing the GPS usage for battery savings.
I am the author of this app and have one question - did you ever clicked on ads in this app? I am just trying to make a kind of "Survey" between users to know, which way to go. I have the paid version, but it doesn't sell well, so I made the Ad-supported version, listed in Google Play for free, but not many people click the ads.
What do you think? Do you think, that having the app free, supported with ads is viable option for me?
Does this application allows recording and upload tracks?
I`m looking for app like old GPSed for iOS and Blackberry.
Not sure about this time tracking application. We had been using Replicon's time tracking product suite which is an easy to use cloud based solution. It has a simple to use calendar view interface, great features for usability and unparalleled back up support too. NO issues till date, had been quite efficient and productive tool.
Nice app... but
I just downloaded your free version to see how it worked before purchasing and have a question.
In your description it says you can send links by email but there is no option through the phone app to send links at all. The only place I seen that offers any type of links to send is on the website. I think this option should be offered through the phone app.
Is this something you plan on adding?
