Got another HTC dream today replaced old one, but I do not get any data connection at all is there a setting to enable the data?
Are you on T-Mobile? Is the replacement a new or used phone? It's possible you need to enter some APNs if they are missing.
Settings>Wireless>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names

Make sure the APN is set correctly for Rogers. Call your Telco and ask for the proper APN for your setup, then post that setup here (so all may learn). Good luck.

I am brand new to this site and this is my first post so please bear with a newbie. Just got a great deal online for a new Rogers HTC Dream. I bought an unlock code in order to use the phone with Telus my current carrier. I bought a sim card and had my plan changed to a data plan. Now here's the part that is frustrating me, I can not access the Telus data network. The phone works fine for phoning and text messaging, wifi works great, but if I try to access mobile data network I get "No network Connection". I checked with Telus added the Telus APN settings and set as default and still no luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Do you have a 3G or H icon in the Notification bar?
Unfortunately I have neither.
Try getting the Telus APN settings. Then go to APN settings and add it in. This SHOULD work.
APNhav
I called Telus tech support, HTC support and setup the Telus apn and it is set as the default all before posting here. However I still can't access the data network. Will I have to root the phone in order to access the data network?
i have a cdma htc hero200 witch is flashed to cricket for talk and text i also have cricket broadband service. i really need help setting up the cricket bradband workaround on my phone im a complete noob to android i just got the phone yesterday and any help would be greatly appreciated please detailed instructions. and im sorry if this has been addressed before
If you're talking about getting data services working on the hero, first you will need to know your 6-digit MSL code. For cricket I think it's 000000 by default.
With the code, you can access and edit the EPST settings by dialing ##778#. Then you will need to make sure all of your M.IP settings are configured to be compatible with cricket. I didn't have data/MMS working on my phone either until I put in all the correct settings here.
I've got an xt862 activated on Alltel but am unable to get mms/web configured and working. It does work on web when connected to Wifi but of course if I'm going to use this device I need mobile web. It works for talk and text but no mms and no web.
I had to manually put in the MDN/MIN in order to get my number programmed. I am in one of the few areas where Verizon and Alltel are supposedly separate. After manually programming MDN then *228 would dial to Alltel prompt as opposed to VZW's prompt before I programmed manually. The phone seems to have the vzw stock rom.
I am switching from a Motorola a854 (defective screen). I copied any programming settings from the a854 to xt862 that I could, even if they weren't necessary(IMSI, country code, etc). I did an APN Backup and Restore from my old device to the new one, and also tried an APN Backup found online supposedly for Alltel devices.
Sorry for the noob post but I've searched multiple forums in an attempt to get any resolution to this issue and wanted to avoid creating my own thread.
Any assistance would be appreciated, I do not foresee any world traveling in my future so standard CDMA connectivity is all I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance and sorry for long post, tried to be brief while remaining thorough.
huhu, if the apn restore worked u maybe just need to tick the checkbox
to activate the apn
settings->wireless & networks->mobile networks->access point names
if there is no entry u have to add the APN manually

Thanks for assistance, but I'm with Alltel (CDMA) and this device only allows selecting APNs in GSM Settings. When I Change Network Mode from CDMA to GSM or Global it will then show no service alltogether. I'm still trying, I feel if I could get the proper APN then I would be ok but I'm not sure. Thanks
Currently running MetroPCS on a Sprint HTC One. 3G, Talk and text all work but the apn option in settings is greyed out. I'm fully rooted, anyone have any idea as to how I can get in there? Thanks
anyone?

I'm on a stock T-Mobile HTC One and I'm looking for a way to unlock the APN's as well.
I've got unlimited data and now I'm getting a prompt to add tethering for $15 more dollars to my plan to use it. There was a hack for my HTC One S to get them unlocked so you could edit them. Don't know about the One though.

I believe you need to have the phone SIM unlocked if you are on stock Tmo ROM

Nope. Got the phone SIM unlocked and the APNs are still locked. I can add a new APN but if you try to select it, it will default back to the T-Mobile data APN. I'm gonna root soon.
Had to unlock the bootloader, flash CWM, and flash a new ROM. I chose Revolution HD. It's pretty stock. APNs are unlocked so you can edit them. I still got the upgrade page when I use fast.t-mobile.com APN. Tethering/hotspot works when I switch to epc.tmobile.com APN, no upgrade screen.
Hello,
I am going to Japan for two weeks starting this Friday. I would like to use my HTC One while there. I already confirmed with Verizon that my phone SIM is unlocked and ready to go global.
I wont have the new SIM card until I get to Japan (bmobile) but I'm looking at their directions to add an APN and I'm not seeing the settings they specify.
I am running CyanogenMod 11-20140504-SNAPSHOT-M6-m7vzw.
I think I need to go to Settings/Wireless & Networks/More.../Mobile Plan but it tells me, "Verizon Wireless has no known provisioning website."
I'm guessing this will open up to the Add APN screen when I change the SIM card but I wanted to make sure I wasn't just looking at the wrong menu section.
Thanks,
Mike
For anyone searching for this issue later, the process I guessed above is how it works.
