i just read the news that there is a program for iphone, "find my iphone"
which enables user to locate where their iphone is.
so was wondering is there a similar program like this for win mobile?
i do not want to lose my phone for the 2nd time again
I just ring mine up. This only doesn't work if the phone is off or silent, and in the former case, software wouldn't help then either.
Try this software. http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net/index.html

Has anyone discovered a way to get WM6 Pro to recognize phone numbers in calendar entries, and make them clickable links? It seems that the smartphone version has the functionality, but the Pro/PocketPC version does not. Pretty lame, if you ask me.
Anyone think it's possible to create a cab/utility that enables it?
You can enter tel:123-456-7898 in the notes area and it will create a link similar to smartphone.
Still looking for something like this for the location line in the calendar.

I tried this and it doesn't seem to want to call. Any tips? It sounds so simple it is hard to see how I could have mucked it up...
I have had to enter a space or a hard return after the telephone number to get the link to work.
I desperately need this too!
Is there a utility/hack out there that will do this? As the original poster said, this is available on Smartphones! I can't believe MSFT didn't implement this!
While I'm at it, how about a feature that can detect Access or Pass codes for teleconferences? In other words, if the number appears as 1-866-000-0000 PC:12345 it should automatically dial 1866000000,,12345#
This is basic stuff that this OS should have... What a downer.
If you type in 'tel:' directly before number you should see the link, eg. tel:123765887
Is there any "fun" bluetooth software outthere anymore. It always fun to be able to mess with your friends but I have not been able to find anything for a long time that will allow that happen. Any ideas?
Yes I too would like to use BT to listen in on conversations, DOH I mean have fun with friends.
Interesting... I Didn't even know there was such a thing...
either did I. Is there?
I have something called Smurf, it's a program for Bluejacking anything bluetooth aware. No idea where to get it as it was somewhere obscure and it crashes if I try to access the about screen (rest of it works quite well though).
Here looks favourite for a website, but I might be wrong -
http://www.gatefold.co.uk/smurf/
I have a cab for it called "SmurfSetup04", so it looks like it's that url...
Hope that helps.

Blue Jacking
Ok, firstly its an offence in most counties as its considered hacking under most laws but for information purposes:
Bluetooth phones that were able to be bluejacked were only made about 4 years ago as all the bluetooth pairing stack has been hardened since then try to prevent this.
Im sure its proabably possible with the right kit, essentially using the original exploits you tricked the traget device into a situation where it thought that you were re-pairing a device and explioted this.
Anyway, probably the most fun thing you can still do over bluetooth is with a program called bluetooth sniper, this lets you send images and text to target phones whilst re-writing your bluetooth id. Its also possible to send messages to phones where the bluetooth is turned on but set to hidden mode.
It also has a war mode, you set a message, it scans for all phones, send the message to all local phones and then does it again and again and again.
Use with caution as you can expect other phone users get a bit pissed after the 10th or so bluetooth message
If your running linux and not a ppc theres a bit more things you can do like:
http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_carwhisperer.html
this is the sort of attack you talk about, however it relighs on the bluetooth's device to still have the default pass key, which many have.
http://www.secuobs.com/news/05022006-bluetooth10.shtml
this is a dos attack i belive for bluetooth
there is also
http://www.net-security.org/software.php?id=519
redfang which attempts to brueforce the passkey on the device, this is slightly diffirent from the original method used for btcrawler.
Anyway, like i said i wouldnt advise doing or using any of the above as its very very very naughty indeed !!
Great - thank you for the info. I will continue to do some more research and find out which one of these still works. I own a copy of the bluetooth sniper (yes, I bought it) and it never seems to work very good. The problem is you have to have the "passkey" to the other phone to be able to do anything.
Anyways - I'm not going to spend tons of time on it, as I just had some buddies I wanted to mess with. If anyone else has any other programs out there that does not require the remote users passkey I would love to hear what they are!
Tare Care....
Plazma remind me to never piss you off. Awsome info.

Don't confuse bluejacking with bluesnarfing.
Bluejacking is actually harmless (although possibly annoying) and involves sending a contact with a message to the bluetooth device concerned.
I haven't used Sniper, but Smurf didn't require a pass key and is free (forgot to mention that bit). Worked with a Sony Ericsson phone and a Nokia phone my friends had, their MacBook's and an Asus machine running Vista...

i tried to download sniper but it said it does not support my firmware or something like that, so i did some research and found it need one of the old .net frameworks. i found the download in the Sniper forums but you need to join to download it... but of course i tried to join (about 2 months ago) and i still have not gotten the 'moderator approval' so i cant download it and thus cant run sniper
Sniper wasn't any fun because to do anything at all, it always pops up the passkey screen on the remote users phone.....thus, your name (device owner name) would always display and make the remote user connect with you. I am anxious to try this smurf program; however, I can't seem to get it installed. All of the new custom ROM's do not appear to have SQL CE installed on them, which is requires - and I can't seem to find the proper cabs to install it on the tilt. If anyone has the proper cabs I need, please post them!

Indeed, bluejacking is often confused with bluesnarfing(which I have an app that will do bluesnarfing, bluebugging, and hellomoto attacks.) Believe me there are still PLENTY of phones and devices still susceptible to bluejacking, just not many still bugged for bluesnarfing or hellomoto attacks.
I've actually made REAL friends by bluejacking(bluejacked a nice lookin lady at the music store once as well as a bartender.)
If you're grey hatted.... check out bluezard... I believe it's www.wm-soft.com but it's not freeware(worth the money imo.) In addition to the attacks there is a built in console where you can attach to any of the remote services and send AT commands(such as dialing commands or sms commands) Doesn't do automatic scanning though, and that's a pain. A really nice bluejacker peice is mobiluck, it's actually geared more toward the exact social aspect of bluejacking that landed me my new friend. start mobiluck and leave it running in your pocket. The idea was that if you came within range of smoeone else running mobiluck you'd automatically exchange information. Didn't turn out that well because the author is very controlling and manually generates his keys and the process is a real pain in the ass.
btexplorer is another useful tool that can do snarfing but no bug or hellomoto, it's also not very intuitive, it's more of a semi consolar program.
Use these programs at your own risk. While bluejacking isn't technically illegal, bluesnarfing, bugging and hellomoto is. Not to mention that while bluejacking isn't illegal it can still get you an ass beatin' if your bluejack the wrong person and they see you sitting there in starbucks giggling.. So there is that risk as well.
I have a 2008 Ford Edge and an HTC Diamond (unlocked) and am trying to get the SMS feature to work with it. I installed JEtware and configured messages to show SMS and Gmail via bluetooth. Once I deleted the link on both the vehicle and the phone and then reinstated the partnership between them, the vehicle radio now shows SMS as an option but gives me the message "error while downloading" when I select the download button on my GPS/radio. It also errors out when I try to send a message from the GPS/radio screen.
I searched the forums and also tried to search Google but I haven't found the answer. Anyone figure this out?
i have got it,its a ford lol.
2008 ford edge.
i didnt think anyone would actually buy one of those things.
Thanks for the reply at least. You would think that Microsoft Sync and Microsoft WM6 would play nice together. I hope someone can help with this. With tens of thousands of vehicles equipped with Sync it amazes me how little information a google search turns up.
I too have MS Sync in my ford motor vehicle. I really wish some one at XDA would help us out with this as no one from MS or Ford have. I just wonder if there isn't some way to hook into the bluetooth so the sync system could read txt messages and emails. I actually have a Touch Pro but its very similar to the Diamond. Please anyone want to try and write a program to make this work? I will be happy to beta test it...
Ford Sync for Sony phones
From what i gathered all ford systems are Sony. And Sony has implemented some type of bluetooth file that allows text message over bluetooth. If you go to the sync website you will see only phones made by Sony work with text messaging..And they havent updated the list because all phones made in 2008-2009 do the basic features. People would start wondering why text feature still dosent work on a new phone. Marketing for sony.
Incorrect all Sync systems in Ford vehicles are Microsoft. The text option is not to do with your car but with your phone. You have changed a setting and disabled the download config file. You have to go through the phones code and switch the setting. I don't know how to do this. Hard-reset to manufacture setting and stop unlocking fooling with your phone unless you know what your doing.
People don't understand once you unlock/flash you're changing the phones settings those settings are needed for other processes. Sync depends on the phone itself if your phone is changed in any way the sync system will go into a safe mode and disable downloading from the device.

WOW if only you knew what you were talking about. The Microsoft Sync System in Ford cars has the capability to "read" back to the user text messages and emails, but ONLY WITH CERTAIN PHONES, AS STATED ABOVE SONY PHONES. its not because I flashed my phone and I don't know what the heck I'm doing. ITS BECAUSE THE PHONE ISN'T COMPATIBLE WITH THE SYSTEM. Everything else works fine, even with my little tiny brain I was able to sync my phone with my car and use it to make calls, Isn't that amazing? So thanks for trying to make us look stupid but please stick with topics that you are familiar with.
Oh YA and last time I checked MS makes Operating Systems not car stereos so some one else makes the radio (Sony most likely).

Yea this is very funny. I read this as soon as you pressed reply but since you where in far left field...Actually not even in the ballpark i thought i would give you a few days to digest what the guy above said.... I would actually tell you how bluetooth profiles work, as well as how Sony did contract to make all audio equipment for ford 2010 vehicles, and etc....But your responding to something i said so long ago , and your so not even close to knowing what your talking about plus the guy above has already roasted you. lmao "thanks guy above me"
Do we still have no progress on this?? Man I would love to have my Flex read my Texts.....
I haven't seen anything. My guess is its some sort of proprietary software that we can't have. It sucks and the Ford commercials are a little miss leading in that area.
Is there a similar service for smart phones like lojack for cars?
Try RTConfig It is amazing for this application.
hhhmm interesting software is it free?
Take a look at Sprite Terminator
http://www.spritesoftware.com/?page_id=280
i keep getting "Invalid command. Battery Charging." on RT Config aside from it spamming my phone with sms when i send the help command
It has worked fine for me in the past, I use the email, but help command sends you what you can send the phone in case you lose it. It is a long detailed list and thats probably why it is doing that. Look in the help tab and see what all it says.
i looked in there but no commands seems to be working, i think am just gonna use UTA aka Ulitmate Theft Alert
I prefer WIMP (where is my phone). UTA you have to pay extra for features such as GPS etc... WIMP includes everything in on price.
I have an app on my Blackberry called Later Dude which lets me set a reminder to call someone back in a specified time by just clicking a button. This is obviously very useful to someone with a memory like mine Does anyone know of anything similar that would work on my Diamond?
