If this icons don´t look as good on your device, this can result in
a) a small qvga screen and the icons are scaled down too much and loose too much details.
b) using a app or converting icons to .bmp. .bmp does not support partly tranparent pixels that are needed for smooth corners (without white pixels) and the shadows.
c) windows mobile still can display only 65.000 colors and still can´t handle .png graphics.
If you use this for a ROM, Application or a theme here, just give me some credits, no need to ask. It is not allowed to post this icons anywere else or use them for commercial apps without my permission.

For the contacts and MRU, I have also done a 3x5 instead of 4x4. Though it is 1 less cell (15 vs 16) the layout for the 3x5 is very much cleaner.
Check this out.
From your skin I see that you are also using SPB Phone Suite. I believe someone had done up a Diamond skin (qVGA though) in the SPB2.1 theme thread. You may want to check that out.
As to your question on the time color, perhaps you can pm Greatbal? He is the guru in SPB MS2.1 theme and skin.

His name is Jolpiej, or something like that. He was skinning for the 240 x 240 Treo screen, which can be used in the i780 without RealVGA (remember 96dpi vs 128 dpi).
Go such for the SPB MS 2.1 Skin thread, and search for square theme, you will be able to find him.
Unfortunately, believe he is busy nowadays, and dun see him much on line.

I won''t go into details anymore, but it's not so easy to change qvga theme into a square theme, with or without realvga.
You will need to edit the xml files, which is found in the qa_layout.dat.
You will also need to do some photoshop (example, changing the icons, background from 240 px to 320 px.
The difficult part is where to begin. I remembered how I did it. First off, get a theme and run it. Check where the out of positions are and also take note of the different icons. Also, study the xml structure, it contains a lot of pixel coordinates. I did not change the structure of the xml files, only the coordinates in the beginning. Only when I am familiar with the structure that I begin to change some of the settings.
Also start with the easiest xml file to edit, to gain confidence. I believe it should be the Home.xml.
Try it, as a saying say " Rome wasn't build in a single day". Be prepared to soft reset many times, I believe my was about more than 200 times before I finally managed to do it.
Update 4. December:
- 311 Icons now. 24 new Icons (First Picture). I reorganized the download section.

I got some requests for VGA Icons, and made this Icons for all VGA and QVGA devices. All Icons are also for "IFONZ" (i recommend a black or dark Background) and ICO for "Ultimatelaunch". with some skils you can use the png files also for WAD2, touchlauncher, MobileShell and so on.
Please don´t forget to donate or even give me credits when you make a project with the Icons. Thank you.
The Look is the "Realize"-Icon Look (there are some other good Realize Icons out there so google for that style if you need different or more)

I totally agree, there are a lot of tool to batch resize the 96 pixel icons to 60 ones, for example.

hey bluemetal, theres a couple icons missing from the updated 96 pngs that you included in ifonz release. and i didnt know if it was intentional. theyre total comm and file explorer. just thought id mention it

Props to DAVID LANHAM! He apparently designed these icons that I lifted from other various themes from iPhones to Desktops. Here is the new and final comprehensive version of Stickerface.
First person to say Winterface sucks, still ugly, etc. loses three internets. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
File in zip title "wicons_x2" is placed in Program Files/Weather/skins/bin
In addition, place the file "weather_icons" in BOTH the Weather AND Winterface skins/bin folders.
Zip file with everything is in Post #6.

And personally, I'd be inclined to agree with you since the default icons also match nicely if you're using SMS-Chat, FunContact, Weather, Eye Photo and ZoomBoard. VITO does a really nice job of making all of their products uniform.
That said, it's a rather lazy choice of colors. I would love it if they would release new versions of Winterface, Weather and EyePhoto to go with the alternate skins of SMS-Chat, FunContact and ZoomBoard, which is much more cheerful.

This is great! The original Winterface icons are difficult to see in direct sunlight on my HTC Titan. These more vivid icons address that problem. Question: how did you do this? How can we make our own icons for Winterface - which programs are needed?

I used Gimp which is pretty much the same thing. And once you get used to it, it's not even all that time consuming. I've taken a few cracks at creating other themes (Neon is coming soon) and finding the icons to use takes more time than it does to tweak them for Winterface. Just a matter of resizing, copy and paste. The key is saving it correctly (16-bit, R5G6B5) or you can mess other things up (the Realize theme causes the Task Manager to close the program.)
This is my firs attemp to create a full skin.

I have to do the message preview grafics, meaby tomorrow! DONE!
First you have to choose wich skin use, there 2 version of gray.bmp (you have to tray it to choose)
the spash.bmp is the same in the two zip file, peak one of them
in the HTC SKIN 2.zip theres the gray_alert.bmp, is the message preview
take this 3 .bmp files and put in ..\Program Files\VITO\SMS-Chat\Skins\Bin (overwrite the existing file, make a backup first) then restart sms-chat
HTC Skin.zip -------- First realise
HTC Skin 2.zip ------ some little change, and the message preview! (Thumbnails at the bottom, black top bar)
HTC Skin 3.zip ------ New Gray.bmp, with new button and top bar (gray top bar)

It is theoretically possible, but the bubbles would all be the same color, which kind of defeats the purpose. Plus, if the text is more than one line, it won't look very good.
Needless to say, I've already tried it.

What I would love to go with this is a iphone like SMS popup (see picture). Or something similar but with a HTC style. One of the main puposes that I use this for is the notifications. I love this theme!!!!!!!!!!!

I used Adobe Photoshop to modify the image, Adobe Fireworks to put all together, and photoshop again to create the bmp
(The bmp MUST be 16bit R5 G6 B5)

A really simple monochromatic skin for Windows Mobile (Phone) 6.5, cab's fully uninstallable. Works with VGA/WVGA and QVGA/WQVGA, just download the correct resolution (without the W). Enjoy.
While I do realize that both versions could be installed from one Cab, I've chosen not to do this to avoid cluttering devices (especially those with small internal storage) with unnecessary files which are not fit for their resolution. My theme releases will be 2 separate cabs (maybe 3 if I ever figure out this square thing...).
Changelog:
May 7, 2009 - Fixed bubble/toast bug in (W)QVGA version and updated installers hardcoded to device (just to bypass nag in installation).

Does anybody else have the 'rainbow effect' towards the top of the screen? Does it show some blue, green and red as the color tries to transition... or maybe my backlight is up to high?

Too bad nobody remembers 'bout square screens (320x320) of Treo and i780
Square QVGA should work just fine seeing as 320x320 on the TreoPro and the i780 are still both 192 DPI, save for the background. I could resize the background and cab up a square one for you if you'd like, but try the QVGA one first and let me know if it works.
EDIT: What's the DPI for the Square 320x320 devices? I'd love to get you a theme if you can get me the resources from a working Classic Blue theme...
EDIT2: Thanks to bnm7bnm, I've found an issue with the QVGA cab, in that if you click on the signal strength indicator, battery icon, any of the top icons looking for a status pop-up window, it shows the old-style notifications, instead of WM6.5-skinned style. Working on a fix and will update when available.
Speaking of bugs, anyone (AdamNimrod) having the rainbow effect: can you try and take a screenshot with a program like CapSure or something similar and see if the rainbow effect still shows up. I don't really know what your talking about, but the screenshot would help, and also identify if its an actual rendering issue or an optical illusion.
PS: I'm working on a Glossy Black theme roughly using a glossing effect similar to Windows 7, but trying to keep it classy and not look like it's "trying too hard". Its coming down the pipe, but I just got out of finals at the University of Florida, and start an internship soon, so it'll be here when it gets here.
For WM6.5 square screeners there is only 96dpi
The attachment contains the slightly modified theme - I've added the 320x320 wallpaper.
Can't wait for the square version
