Roger ROMs Having to click on "Send" - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody have a solution so I can hit enter to send SMS messages on the HW keyboard, instead of always having to hit the send button?

I too would like to know. I am on virtualdudes v3 and the thing i cant stand is to have to push SEND on the screen to send a messege instead of hitting enter on the HW keyboard.

I don't see an SMS.apk that can be swapped with another build, any ideas?

Frustrating - Anyone know how to make a call or edit a contact from an SMS??

Hi all, I'm finding it frustrating that there is no way to edit a contact's details or quickly make a call from viewing an SMS, is there a tweak/patch for this or am I doing something wrong??
close input program like keyboard, press up and down key to highlight sms, and press call
Solved.
Cheers, It's a bit annoying that you can't do it from the Flo view, and is a bit awkward, however this method also works to get to contacts too if you press the center button.
Thank You.
just press more (left buton)
in the list of sms's press the phone button. you will be able to call that person.
you do not need to close the keyboard.
If u dun close keyboard u cant select the message, u'll highlight text instead
what about just hitting the green button key ? that works for me

when i press more in the tf3f sms screen i go to the sms list.
if i have a keyboard there or not does not make a difference.
as soon as i press the call key, i can make a phonecall. to the selected person.
if i press up or down the next message is selected and i can call to that person.
what are you doing different?
perhaps your message is already highlighted. u can only call, forward, etc, when the message is highlighted. U'll see a lightblue highlight on the message.
When u're replying a message, no message is highlighted, hence, no forwarding etc
but when you reply to a message you are in a different screen.
i am talking about the sms overview.
so to call someone you received a message from it is only two clicks, instead of 1 click as the first poster wanted.
lol, probably misunderstanding. we both obviously have no problems and threadstarter also no problems already, so, case solved lol

you could say that
Thanks everybody for your input, yes the solution works.
If I'm in the single SMS mode (i.e. the SMS "old style" list I have no problems accessing contact details or making a call.
The threaded SMS mode proves to be more difficult, however by highlighting a message (either pressing up, or down then up, or closing the keyboard) then you can access the number by pressing the call button.
The Quick SMS view in the HTC FLO mode though proves the most difficult only allowing you to select the message to open up the Threaded SMS view. This is the mode I wanted to make a call directly from or access there details, however I don't think that is possible.

sms and T9 bug

When i enter an sms the t9 automatically gives me suggestions for words.
which is fine.
when i send my sms the last suggestions stays open. it covers the sms i just send and i cannot clearly see if i have sent the sms or not.
also it indicates that i should send my sms, because the suggestion is seen as a new sms.
is there a way to close the t9 suggestion when the send button is pressed?
I haven't tried it yet, but there is an option where you get a confirmation when your sms is sent.
Maybe that will solve your issue?
i have noticed this as well. If you don't press the centre button to select the last suggestion before you send, the suggestion bar stays there.
not exactly the end of the world, and once i got used to pressing the centre button when i had finished typing, instead of not selecting the word and just hitting send, it has never happened again.
not perfect, but you just need to learn to hit the centre button instead of just hitting send without selecting the word you want.
