Ok I've searched for this for awhile with no luck, so I'm sorry if this has been discussed....
I've had this problem each time I hard reset my phone. I would reset or flash my phone and the Windows Media wouldn't play all the songs on my sdcard. some of the songs would play but not all of them and it gets tiresome going through finding which songs it wont play and re syncing all that music. The error message I get is "A digital rights management (DRM) error has occurred." I was wondering if there is a specific reason for this? It really bothers me now cause I just took all the music off my computer. I do remove the sdcard before I reset or flash.
thanks in advance
Are you running a cooked rom or the oem rom? I'm not sure about the 6.1 cooked roms, but it looks like all the 6.5 cooked roms remove drm because it causes some other issues.

Hello, I installed the latest WM5 build from
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
Including the available patches.
I did not update the radio, so its still at 1.12.0 I believe is the correct version, but so far everything seems to work ok, except there is no Album for viewing the photos and videos from the camera application, and one really annoying problem with sound, if I run Windows Media player, and then play a file video or audio, then close WMP, the audio is no longer function in any aplication, without a soft reset.
Any ideas on this, I tried the unidirectional patch from Imate which worked previously on WM2003SE when I encountered no sound on the phone (unrelated to WMP as far as I know)
Thanks
Chewychewytoo
you havent installed the album patch,
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Patches/Album with midi.rar
then install cab as normal, put device in stanby for a min, then turn back on and reboot.
you should have your album working ok./
I installed the album patch, but the audio issue remains
I found and installed the album patch that worked, but what about the audio stopping working after closing media player, requiring a soft reset...
Audio stopping working after closing media player
Looks like this may be a problem with spbpocketplus 3.0, I was using it to close apps with the added x button it adds to applications. I added an expection to the pocket plus config so it would not close wmp and then I played with it and was able to stop the audio playback, then "close" wmp which only minimized it due to the exception, and sounds still worked elsewhere, then I was able to use the task manager in pocket plus to close wmp and it closed it completely then I was still able to play sounds.
So I now I have a working Imate PDA2k with WM2005 with all the known patches and several apps working successfully.
Thanks to all the work done by the folks posting on this site!
Very cool, now we will wait and see what Imate comes out with. I would like to see an xda-tools util to back up the rom to SD card like the old HTC devices supported, but I am sure its only a matter of time.
Just use a different media player, such as TCPMP...
Hello All...
I have spent DAYS reading here and other places on the web looking for an easy 1step solution for my problem... I have installed S2P and it is great... I love to play the game "Anything your phone can do, mine can do better" to iphone people.. lol.. Anyways, here is my problem..
The S2P software was not displaying the album art so I couldn't do the cool flip throug hte CD thing... So in Monday I decided to try to fix that... I did some reading, and checked if my WIndows Media Player Mobile would display it.. it wasn;t either...
I WAS jsut dragging and dropping onto my SDHC memory card... Read that is the problem as I need to sync it using windows media player on my computer to get it to work... I tried that.. nothing.. I deleted the partnership and tried again.. Still nothing.. I erased the mediaplayer data file from the root directory.. tried again.. nothing nothing nothing..
I read about downloading the cover manually and inserting it as folder.jpg.. That worked perfect.. The problem with that is I have nearlt 50GB of music files.... And that would take forever... Isn;t there a way to just make the hidden album art visable so it goes when I drag and drop? I remember in the OLD days you could see the JPG files in the CD's folder... On my computer, the album art IS There as I can see the image when I use explorer or when I browse my library using MEdia Player... I tried the old trick of making the entire music folder and all sub-directories invisible and then visible to un-hide anything that was hidden, that didn;t work.. I also tried some programs such as AV Album Art Fixer (I just get an error when that program tries to load), MP3Tag and a few others... My problem is I am looking for something that I just point the program at my music folder, and it just either enables all existing album art to a visible copyable file, or something that will automaticall download/copy/whatever the images to the correct folders. Then when I copy them it will "just work"...
I don;t mean to sound lazy, but it is a big pain to have to manually click every album one at a time or to find them myself, download the image, rename it and copy it... Also, please don;t yell at me for not having found the answer myself in another forum or website as I really have been looking for days...
My phone is a HTC 8925 / AT&T Tilt.. But it is unlocked and I am using another carrier (I got Wifi access as well a slower wireless internet working on it). I also have the USB Sync with it as well...
My computer is a Core 2 Quad system running Vista Ultimate x64 edition.
Thank in advance for your help... I really appreciate it!
And on a side note.. a BONUS you could help with... when I scroll through the CD's I manually downloaded the art for.... it scrolls the "narrow" way... I would really prefer it to scroll sideways instead so the CD image is bigger... I tried "opening" the phone to change the rotation, but that didnt; work and seemed to cause problems... This is a minor thing but would be an added bonsu if you coudl help me with that as well... Again, Thank you so much for you help in advance...
Since a few ROMs ago two things happens that are just so annoying:
- Windows media player stops playing when you switch to another app. There is no way to stream something and at the same time go and open a page or something else.
- No way to have both windows media player and audio manager running at the same time.
I couldn't find a way to tweak this. Could please someone put some light on this?
These didn't happened until a few months ago, but every single ROM I install have this same behaviour.
I use PC Ultimate V16 WWE ROM.

Emerson
memory?
I think this could easily be a memory issue. I'm not 100% sure, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like WMP takes up a lot of RAM, especially if you are streaming, so I don't think it can handle running some apps at the same time. I have noticed mine do the same thing. Maybe someone has a fix for this, but I have not heard of one.
Hi echofloripa,
My name is Ron, and I’m part of the Windows Outreach Team. I thought I’d stop in and try to help out with your Windows Media Player Question.
I did some checking and couldn’t find a setting that might cause this, so I’d suggest that you uninstall and reinstall a clean copy of Windows Media Player.
You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx
If your problem persists, let me know and I’ll keep looking for a workaround. At that point, it may indeed be a memory-related issue.
Cheers,

The page you sent doesn't have any windows mobile version to install.
I don't believe it is a memory problem. When I had a Hermes, with less memory, I had never had this issue of pausing the windows media player when going into another app. A detail is that playing music doesn't stop, just when it's a video, streaming of local.
Hi,
When i updated to the 2.03.404.2 rom, my audiomanager started crashing and even though i updated to 2.03.404.3 I still cant seem to play mp3 files in tf3d. Has anyone else encountered this problem/found a solution. I tried a hard reset as well, but it would not work, though I did not disable audiomanager.exe when restoring my backup file.
Can anyone help? I prefer to use my diamond as a mp3 player so it kinda sucks
Hey all!
I registered here in the hope that someone here can help me out with my Xperia.
Since a couple of days, my Media Player gives me an error message when i try to playback mpeg encoded movies (even the original bond trailer doesnt work anymore). Error Message: 'Der Quellfilter für diese Datei konnte nicht geladen werden.', should translate something like 'The source filter for the specified file could not be loaded'. MP3's work fine, the error message appears only for movies.
Now, the trick is, i haven't recently installed any apps or tried anything funny. Nor do I have any of the Touchflo stuff installed. So i'm baffled from where this error appears out of the sudden. Looks like some screwed settings or files. Any idea how to fix this (reinstall media player, or restore the 'source filters' without the need of a hard reset?
thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide
ps. if only windows (mobile or not) would point into a direction where the problem is instead of just barking error....
I have had this problem before. It is one of two things. Either you have messed up your video drivers and will need to hard reset, or the file type associations have been scrambled. To fix the file types you will need to download SKtools and follow this tutorial, if you can't do it by yourself.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539833
I think you will need to do a hard reset in the end, but it will not hurt to try lol.
Hmm, I've tried the three versions of SKTools (v5, standard and free) and I'm unable to find the menu point you described in any of them. I found a system tweaks category but it doesnt include settings about file types.
Anyways, the more i'm thinking about this, the more i'm wondering if it's a file association problem, since when I try to launch a video, Media Player starts, and it's Media Player itself which gives me that error.
I'll try and keep searching for that file association thingy, but it seems i'll end up with a hard reset.... yikes....
Bah, I found it. Always the same, you end up finding things after you post about not finding them...
Let's see if I get it to work now...
