when I press the call history button it delays around the 10 seconds until it presents the list. The total number of contacts is about 600.
it seems to me that there's only a delay in case of new calls (I guess because they have to be organized, sorted, checked against the contacts or something like that...).

Does anyone know of a fix yet for the Windows Mobile 6 (crossbow) for calling the most recent number. Before, when pressing the call button twice, it would call the number you previously called without having to manually scroll through the call history.
Also, I noticed with the underground rom, that pressing the button on the bluetooth headset no longer activates voice command. Any fix for this? I went through some threads but the fixes that i found there were to redirect ALL audio to the headset (not something i care for). Thanks!
Calling the most recent number works, you must not be using the default WM6 dialer. Mine displays calls history and contacts in the center of the screen with the last call selected, so if I push the green button twice, it will call.
As for the voice command, read through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295967&highlight=voice+dialing
As far as I know, it doesn't redirect all audio. The second set of directions that includes
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll" (string)"
redirects notifications.
It is using Windows Dialer. But the thing is, the scroll history is not organized in the most recently called, instead it is organized in alphabetical order. So instead of calling the number I most recently called, it calls the person on the top of the alphabetical list of my recently called list.
Weird. Mine has the most recent callers at top, and then an alphabetical list under that. So pressing the green dial button twice (or hitting my BT headset button twice) will call the last number each time. I'm on WM6 MBE.
Hello,
Do you know any SW that would automatically log information about date and time of each coll in the Notes for each contact?
I'd like to see upon opening a contact when I spoke with him/her.
Thank you
Not quite what you are asking for...but there is a program called CallCalendar that notes each call made, received, or missed and places it (and the beginning and ending times) automatically into your Calendar. I have found it as a helpful log to keep.

That sounds interesting but I would like to have something slightly different... when I open a contact, I'd like to see the history of phone conversations with this person... ideally in the Notes fields of the contact
I believe PocketCM can do something similar. At least, it is a decent contact manager with SMS function. Afaik, you can let it show the calls inbetween the threaded SMS, which gives you quite a log about conversations with people. But, I think it does not show the duration of a call, but date and time for it.
Give it a shot

It's already there in the individual call history for each contact. Time, day, length of call.
Open contact, "View All Calls".
Personal Call History list isn't accurate..
1 -Call someone.. (..or use your call list on the phone screen..)
2 -Click id button on the right side of the screen to access personal details on phone screen..
3 - Tap 4'th tab for call history detail...
4 - Did you see your all calls with that person ???
Some calls place on the list, some are not.. Dozen of times i seen totaly empty list...
Is anybody experience this issue ?
I am experience that there is no timestamp on the call history how to make it show?
Has anyone yet figured out a way to not have the Captivate log every single text and call you make?
It is so annoying to have to hunt all through my phone looking for tracks. Originally I assumed that they could be erased by deleting the thread in messaging. Wrong!
So then go to the contact/history and delete it there. Wrong! There is nothing in the history tab.
So then open the dialer, go to call log and look, every sent and recieved text, mms, and call is logged there as well. Its like a paranoid secret agent designed this system.
And heaven forbid that you installed a second messaging program such as Handcent to log everything all over again.
I currently use Horizon to keep my private texts private, but even that allows the outgoing texts to be logged.
Yes, deleting the thread, then selecting every individual item in the log from the unwanted caller works. Or even deleting the entire call log at once will work. But short of that has anyone come up with a work around for the call logging intrusion?
Found "Not log this call" on the market to auto delete phone calls log (Not free).
For sms you can edit the text message limit and reduce it to 1. This will at least keep 1 text message in store before it gets deleted. But default it's set to 200 msg per conversation and 20 mms per conversation.
Interesting. I looked at that app, I may have to try it.
Did you actually get your message inbox to go to 1? Mine will only go down to 10.
I am currently testing it to see if it erases the call log history as it erases the inbox but I dont think it does.
Ok, so setting the message limit to 10 only deletes the messages, not the logs.
However, while playing with it I found out that by selecting one of the logged entries (text or call) it pulls up a history type page. From there you can select the bottom left soft key, choose delete and then choose select all. I am not sure but I think it only deletes one page at a time or something as it seems to leave a few behind. I am still playing but its a hell of a lot better that trying to select each individual log in the main log screen. Its sort of what you would expect the history tab in the contact screen to do. (especially if you came from WinMo )
I hope someone else finds this helpful. I did a lot of searching and found a lot of complaints about this awful "feature" but no answers. This isnt much of an answer but its seems a bit more tolerable since I figured the history part out.
It also seems to be something Samsung adds as Evo and the Droid don't do it.
Check out HistoryEraser. I think I saw it on Lifehacker a few days ago, supposed to wipe away all your unwanted tracks.
Sorry for my bad English.
I purchased a week the sony z3 compact and noticed / discovered these two flaws that on cheaper phones have provided.
1) blocking calls from any contacts or anonymous numbers or numbers not in our section. Now on the phone you can only enable or disable all calls. Which, frankly, use a few.
2) In the call log, it would be very useful, instead of having the key on the right with the arrow symbol, with which, if crushed shows various options, replace it with the contact's photo (which is in the list of contacts), maybe even moving it to the left. And then, again, crushing him alight see the different options that already happens if I press the current arrow.
And then, still in the call log, it would be interesting to divide the calls with the days: example:
Saturday, December 20
call 1
call 2
call 3
etc
etc
Friday December 19
call 1
call 2
etc
etc
or, instead of this solution, group for phone number the various records, without having a long list with numbers / contacts repeated
I hope I explained in the best way possible and above all that we can have such solutions in a possible next update, I'd be very happy.
