ok my phones usb port no longer works. so i have to charge the battery off a dual desktop cradle. and i flashed my phone using the micro-sd method. but i was wondering if i could do the same with my contacts/calender with outlook 2007? please help! thanks in advanced

Open Active Sync connection settings, and disable "allow USB-connections"
Ya, i can't install activesync at work. With my old Dell back in the day it wouldn't charge unless activesync was installed. But i just plugged in my Kaiser w/o active sync and it automatically started charging. So NM i guess!

Why is activesync so slow? I did an experiment where I plugged my memory card directly into a card reader. Sync with windows media player was 10x faster. I am sure the Outlook sync could be faster too. I use USB sync.
Also once in a while I get a message something has changed and that everything needs to be resynced? Very irritating as I have to then wait for it to finish completely or loose my contacts/calendar info.

I made a partnership with my Vista pc, via windows mobile device centre, it syncs okay. When i unplug it en re plug it again my pc doesn't see my Kaiser any more. When i restart PC it syncs perfect.
Any ideas on how to fix this??

Just upgraded to Wm6.5, i discover that I cannot Sync with my PC with Sync Centre 6.1. Plug in the USB but the PC reconized my Xperia X1 as an Removable Disk. Any idea ?
I had some problems Active Syn via Xperia to my corp Exchange server, I reduced the amount of email synced and now can successfully sync.

Have you selected active sync in the usb connection settings? Sounds to me like its set to hard drive.
I had ActiveSync working with XP and then I got a new computer with Vista so I had to get the Device Center. I tried plugging in the phone with the USB and syncing it and it says "sync complete!" but it hasn't transferred anything to the computer. I had Thunderbird and when it didn't sync with it I installed Outlook but it didn't sync with that either. I went to the settings and checked the box to sync just the Contacts, which is the only thing I want to sync. Anyone know why it isn't doing anything?
Have you got the latest device centre installed:
