When I press down on one of the sides of the battery cover, it moves a bit and makes noise. This also happens when I wiggle the cover. It seems like the cover is not fitting perfectly so I'm wondering if I need a new battery cover.
Try placing a small piece of foam between between the battery and the cover.
Or duct tape may work as well.... It is from removing the cover often.
The TD2 batt cover is flimsy plastic, as we all know, and will not hold up when removed often.
Try installing a simple soft reset .cab to avoid removing the cover so much as well.

Does taking in and out wear off the plastic or whatever it call on the main case? i am using clear silicon type which sometime i need to take it off to replace my batt. and found out the side of the device had some wear off. any 1 encounter this ? thanks

Yes, the paint in various parts is tearing off on mine. Only build problem I've seen so far.
I'm surprised a silicon case would damage the finish, they're generally quite soft...
But yeah, I'm using one of those "rubberised hard cases" and its taking off the finish, was doing so within about a week...can only get worse...
I have a leather case with a plastic internal clip in section, fits great but is also removing the rubbery coating at the corners! What a crap design to cover it with this stuff, why not just texturise the plastic case?
I've purchased the HTC PO511 leather case with flip off screen protection and it fits perfectly! also the internal plastic clip is covered with microfibre cloth so it completely protects my HD2 from scratches. This case is something I would recommend to everyone who hates to get the HD2 out of the leather pocket everytime you wanna play with it.
How easy are these silicone cases to take on/off? I'm thinking of getting one, as I'm butter-fingered and drop my phone a lot, but I also find myself having to take the back cover off the phone, to get at the battery / SD card etc, and couldn't be doing with it being a bugger to get off.
hey guys, I have noticed since I've been running android, that about once a week my phone battery cover gets a little hot. At first I was taking the battery cover off, then I noticed what looks like the same heat-transferring tape that I see inside of laptops and DVD players to transfer the heat to the battery cover. I guess the battery cover acts as a kindof heatsink to keep the battery cool. So when I started looking into the Pdair or Monaco cases, I noticed both of them had neoprene inner linings and that made me think about how my phone battery could potentially overheat and lower the lifespan of it while insulated inside the neoprene/metal case. I thought about getting some thin heat-transferring tape and putting it between the battery cover and case by cutting out a small section of neoprene. Before I go to all of that trouble, I want to know if someone has had a problem with the battery burning out while inside the metal case
My hd2 does the same thing, while running android the battery seems to overheat but does not seam to affect the phone or battery.
I know that the extended battery cover is plastic (I have one), but I'm wondering if there's any 3rd party standard battery cover that's plastic?
Reason being that I want to vinyl dye my HD2 to white, and it's impossible to dye a titanium battery cover. So I'm looking for a battery cover that uses the same plastic as the rest of the case.
I've not seen any, but have read somewhere on here that the cover also dissapates heat, so replacing it with plastic is not a sound idea , you could always rub it down, prime and spray paint it with a decent car paint ot acrilic
Try searching, some guys on here have done a great job
Hi all
I don't like any cover like holster or pocket,it's to big.
I made, better holding Note2 in one hands very simple way.
Use screen protectors, cut into small strips. Two of external lengthwise and glue on both side and inside glue few of them-yours chose how many but must be thin.
For me slip angle greatly increased.
Regards for all.
Yep!
I'm looking for a metal based case so that I can use my Mountek magnetic holder.

I can stick a piece of metal on the back but it looks unsightly.
Thanks.
would any of these work?

Pretty sure aluminium is non-magnetic
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Just get some thin magnets from your fridge, stick them on your phone and you're good to go
Are you using a case now? I had a spigen, I put the little metal attachment it came with between the hard part and the silicone. Had to bend it and cut down at the silicone a bit but it worked perfect. Only thing is since the phone is curved you need something with a high friction constant on the magnet part.
Thank you all for your replies.
Lost the phone and just got a replacement. I'm thinking of opening up the phone to place the metal plate inside on the battery.
The only issue is the speaker grills keeping their shape afterwards.

When you open it up, what you find on the bottom is not the battery, it's the motherboard in the center and two daughterboards top and bottom. The battery is in the middle, below the circuit boards, right behind the display. And there's almost ZERO free space inside that case. Even with a very thin strip of metal, you won't be able to close it properly.
Your best bet is getting one of the slim "barely there" style cases and stick a thin metal plate on the inside of that. TPU cases would work well for that too, maybe even better since there's a bit more flex.

Forgot to update.
Removed the back cover and stuck my metal plate in the middle and the back cover closed as before. You have to be careful where you place the metal plate so that the back cover closes properly.
Disassembly was quiet straight forward.
I'm having this issue too. Has anyone tried bending the metal plate to match the phone? Does it affect the strength of the magnet ?
I'm thinking getting one of the hybrid case (seems to be flatter) to use with the mount.

You don't need to bend the metal plate. Just place it exactly in the center. the metal doesn't need to be too big. Mine is Length 6cm Width 2.5cm.
Using a case is easier but I like to use the phone without a case. If ever it gets damaged or time to sell I can replace the housing.
