for my italian xperia there is a coocked rom in italian language but it has the ringtone bug. now i've seen that more cocked rom for xperia (not italian) have resolved this bug but i don't know how.
can someone explain the solution, please?
thanks
ps the os is 5.2.21812 (Build 21812.5.0.50)
nothing ??
What is this "ringtone" bug ? I mean what are the symptoms ? (sorry for asking another question, instead of offering a solution
Yea what do you mean by bug?
Perhaps the same thing I am experiencing? I have cooked 6.5 before, some have this bug some work fine. After setting the ringtone it goes off the first time. After that the ringtone never plays for an incomming call. When I go back to the settings it has gone back to the default Ring01-WindowsPhone. I am searching for solutions now and found this thread so just thought I'd weight in. I will post here if I find an answer.
I too have had issues with Cooked wm6.5 and ring tones. I can not assign my custom ring tone as it never shows up in the list.
mine seems to only do it for texts...if im in the message window only....if i find anything ill post it on here
I know some 3rd party apps causes this ringtone bugs.
CrazyKart, the game, caused my device issues.
By any chance ... do u have Nitrogen Player installed ?
[RAPHAEL]Same Issue /w WinMO 6.1.21051(20779)
I'm running into the same issue with WinMO 6.1.
I've been having some discussions with Da_G and he suspects it may be an issue with too many modules (S###, IMAGEINFO.XXX, etc.) resulting in maxed out VM space.
In looking at the BUILD_LOG.TXT (VisualKitchen 1.8.1), I do see that SLOT 1 is entirely full and spill off occurred into SLOT 0. I'm going to try and reduce the number of modules (i.e. convert them to DLL/EXE) and see if the problem "goes away".
I'll post an update once i've freed up SLOT 0.
Cheers,
UPDATE: [RAPHAEL]Same Issue /w WinMO 6.1.21051(20779)
Quick update;
I moved Remote Desktop, Windows Media Player, and Windows Live from the .\SYS\ folder to the .\EXT folder and then RECMOD'ed all of the packages that I have in the .\EXT folder.
Here are the compilation results from BUILD_LOG.TXT:
Code:

I've been running the device now for the last 12 hrs or so and it seems to behave as expected - i'll post up another update after a few days of "road testing".
Cheers,
Follow-Up: Stability /w WinMO 6.1
Well ... it's been a few days and my RAPH's never been more stable.
Typically, if I left my RAPH on for more than 24hrs, the problem would manifest itself - i.e. phone would not ring when calls came in unless I soft reset or powercycle every 20hrs or so.
I've left it powered on in the charger, left it powered on off the charger and the ringtone occurs with every call. I'm going to run it without a powercycle or reset for another day or so; but at this point, it looks like overflow to SLOT0 seems to cause instability.
HTH,
Final Update
Well,
I can confirm that freeing up SLOT0 of modules resolves the issue - device has been rock solid!
Cheers,
How do you change your ringtone ?
By " Phone " or by " Sound and Notification " in Settings/Personal ?
Because, me, if I change my notification by first " Phone " and after by " SOund and Notification ", my configuration is not save ...
@billouetaudrey:
If you restart your device and make the change, does it remain? If so, then I would say that the compiled ROM likely has SLOT0 module spilloff.

My only solution is :
Hard reset, go to " Sound and Notification " and only after I go configure other notification ( bip on touch phonepad ... ) in Phone ...
Sorry for my english, I'm french :d

http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-...n/290203/custom-wm6-5-roms-for-i900-by-ryrzy/
Same problem with other rom ( I don't if it's wm 6.5 or all wm ... )
I remember Larstein once said in sakajati's forum: The ringtone will work if you put it in \My Documents\My Ringtones\ folder, dunno if it works in your cases.
Any seems there's a registry entry that controls this path.
any solution?

i got a couple of issues:
- when someone calls, the phone seems to stutter and cutoff the first ring a bit. doesnt inspire confidence at all. the ringtone is the same file i used to have on my wizard and worked perfectly for years, so its not the file.
- the menu font size if ridiculously huge! i managed to make it smaller by changing the following registry keys:
HKLM\System\GDI\SYSFNT\Ht (from 1000 changed to 700)
HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\Barfnt\Ht (from 1000 changed to 700)
HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\Popfnt\Ht (from 1000 changed to 700)
and that brings the font size down, however the font glyphs like arrows/checkmarks/circles remain the same huge size. i attached a picture to explain.
how do i change the size of those glyphs?
HKLM\System\GDI\Ht (from 1000 changed to 700)
I can not find this value!!!!! I found the other 2, but not thus one.

sorry about that, i corrected the original post as well.
come on, i can not be the only one whos bothered that an $800 device can not do its most basic job of RINGING PROBABLY!
no one else has that problem with first ring stuttering? the phone seriously seems to have trouble loading the phone app quickly enough when a call comes in, sometimes it even says "unknown caller" first before recognizing the number and showing the contact name.
Yeah, bit sluggish, thanx WM ?
I don't mind very much, I am not looking at phone waiting for it to ring My ringtone works fine btw?
Try this tweak for ring delay
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Sc ript - Change apw3r to apr

a = allow
p = play sound
w3 = wait/delay 3 seconds
r = repeat
f = backlight aan (f1)
v = trillfunctie aan (v0,v1,v2)

I have the same problem with the ringtone. I use my own .wav file. I hope someone comes up with an answer, it is a pain ;(

Yes i have the same problems as you, more specifically:
1. Sometimes it rings just once and goes into "missed call" before I can pick up, and the caller tells me it rang many times and I didn't answer!
2. Unknown caller before the name is identified
3. HUGE fonts of the email header (From, Subject, etc).... I mean they take up half the freakin' screen. WTF?

If you are having problems that the first ring sounds a bit cut off, try converting the ringtone to MP3. I had the same problem with my ringtone (which was WAV). Then I converted it to MP3. The file now has become alot smaller in size (thus faster to load I think) and now my first ring sounds "whole" so to speak. Try it if you use WAV.
Please note that this problem does NOT solve the ringtone delay (it solves the 1st ring cut-off prob for me at least). The ring delay problem still exists after ringtone convertion to MP3 and as far as I know there hasn't been a solution for that yet.
ok, i have managed to get rid of the ringtune stuttering by converting it from .wav(150kb) to .mp3(30kb)
strange thing is i used the same exact .wav ringtune for a couple of years on my old Wizard and there was zero delay. which doesnt make any sense.
however, it still shows "unknown caller" sometimes before recognizing the contact name.
i am starting to think that the HTC phone skin is the culprit here, its simply making everything slow. i tried disabling it with Advanced Configuration but that renders the whole phone app unusable.

I'm glad the file conversion worked for you too. That's right, it's not the wav file that is corrupt, I also used mine for years on my old PPC. It's that the Diamond somehow does have difficulties starting up certain "tasks" when someone calls. It could very well be the TFL3D interface... Even with all the performance tweaks, the problems exist...
Maybe you can try to use the phone option of WM instead of TFL3d? I dunno if this works (haven't tested it myself) but maybe if you remove the tick of the TFL3D in the Start -> Settings -> Today (Items tab) and then soft reset, maybe the TFL3D interface won't start. This way you can try if you have the same delay problem with the phone interface of Windows Mobile... This way we know for sure the HTC TFL3D interface causes the problem here.

every 2 or 3 days when my alarm sounds i get no onscreen noticfication to dismiss the alarm, only the symbol in the status bar.
When i look into sounds notification/reminders i see the "display message on screen" box is unchecked again so i recheck it.
What causes this to uncheck itself?
are you experiancing this behaviour or have any insight into the cause?
thanks
I have the exact same prob. It started when I used Diamond TF3D Config prog to change the diamond theme.
Dont know why it happens bro.
Anyone knows how to disable Missed Alarm Alert (symbol on the status bar) so I don't need to go to status bar console and remove it every morning ?

I believe i was having this problem before i had installed Diamond TF3D.
The search continues.
Im having the problem on TLR3 ROM and i know people who are also haveing this trouble on 1.37 original ROM and the 1.93 Original.
I'm using TF3D Config and also 1.93 ROM but I don't seem to have this issue?
Although I have never used it to apply a 'theme' only, to change date/time format and apply one of the performance tweaks.
Have you guys updated your TF3D config via apptodate and also tried restoring defaults (within TF3D config) and then tried applying your settings again?
i too only use TF3D config to format the date, i have updated it using apptodate.
I may uninstall it and see what effect that has, im not really sure that TF3D is the cause of the problem.

Had this happen again today, really annoys the wife as i spend time trying get the phone to shut up.
I have made no progress determining the cause, but it does only seem to uncheck the box after a soft reset, but strangley not after every soft reset..... the plot thickens
This problem only happens after i reset the device, but not every time.
As i cant find the cause i was thinking of a way to fix the problem.
i found the reg entry for the reminders show "on screen"
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{15F11F90-8A5F-454c-89FC-BA9B7AAB0CAD}
and i have the values for the box checked and unckecked.
I have been googleing for the past hour but having no luck with what i want to achieve.
I would like to write a batch file to open a reg file that will change the dismiss box registry entry to the checked value, but it seems batch files cannot be run from the windows start up folder.
Im not very technically skilled with programming so could someone more knolegable point me towards the correct way of doing what i desired, which is change a rehgistry value at start up.

If that was in reply to me, I'm looking for registry entry!
This thread seems closest to the problem I have.
For me it is always that on alarm there is no popup where I can dismiss the or snooze the alarm
I always have to unlock the phone (by entering password), tap the status bar, then choose the alarm button and then the pop up appears as it should have done by itself.
This is always, no matter if I reset or not. And, I have checked on "display message" when I look into the settings.
This is freaking weird and annoying.
I've noticed the box unchecks after the sync process via Activesync.
I'm pretty sure it's caused by particular side software we have installed on our Diamons. I propose to post the side software list we have and then point out the pattern.
My list:
MS Voice Command
Finix Battery Icon
Splash ID
Sprite Backup
Diamond Tweak
Resco Explorer
Yandex Maps
Skype
CorePlayer
G-Alarm
Manila Calculator Skin
Yota TV
Nice idea but already flawed given you've not published an exhaustive list. A case in point being Activesync - that's a resident piece of software and furthermore one which you suspect as possibly being responsible!
Or are you certain it is a non-Windows issue? That's quite a leap of faith given we've all previously been scratching our heads...
I don't mean to come across negative, but I also don't want to see a futile attempt at finding a solution!
Mathew
No I am not pretty sure it's not Windows issue. However, if it is, why there are so few of us suffering?
I suspect G-Alarm, got to try to play around with it being uninstalled.
I'm having the same annoying problem since running the 2.03 official ROM. On the 1.93 I never had this problem. I didn't install G-alarm or TF3DConfig.

That's a very good point, although it could quite simply be down to a combination of i) a limited number of people using the alarm, ii) affected users not being bothered by the issue, and/or iii) affected people not realising they are being affected!

no. sadly not. if you find some, please tell me!
thx.
I think you are mixing things up. The "customization" you see is provided by HTC and is not the same as the "User customization" provided with many roms.
The "user customization" can be aborted by pressing "Cancel", whereas the normal customization can't be cancelled.
You would have to re-cook the rom and delete the whole customization part.

?? well i've been talking about the customisations that come with the ROM you have flashed to your device (whichever that is). This includes adittional software or additional registry entries and such stuff. Both original and custom ROMs normally have such customisations (I've never seen a ROM without any of such customisations)

This is the "normal" customization johnpatcher is talking about, the one that starts right after setting date/time settings after hard-reset/first use of the device. For this device, i don't think you can skip that, other than re-cooking the ROM..
For others, such as TyTN2/Kaiser you would skip that by performing a soft-reset at that moment, as smb was suggesting above..
Just perform a soft reset while your Diamond asks you to enter the PIN code for the SIM card, before the 3 seconds warning appears.
It works perfectly for my Diamond (but solves only a half of the problems I expected the preventation of the HTC customization would solve).
After that I have the following memory values:
Storage
Total: 85.06
In Use: 14.19
Free: 70.88
Program
Total: 111.02
In Use: 46.98
Free: 64.04
instead of:

In Use: 23.17
Free: 61.89
Program
Total: 111.02
In Use: 55.35
Free: 55.69
when allowing customization to run...
As I could see immediately after performing the hard reset with no customization is the absence of Opera and Manila. But same giant menu letters are still in their place along with some 3rd party apps such as Adobe Reader, audio Booster, etc. Also I suppose that there is no MMS support as MMS is not supported by WM by default.
So it would be nice for me if someone would help me to chose what to install and what to skip when preparing my Diamond for the first use after HR. I can't accept some of the HTC's innovations as they look poor.
By the way, why 256mb=85.06mb and 192mb=111.02mb according to HTC?
well resetting before 3 sec popup OR after has no effect on automatic installing of manila files (tf3d)
if anybody had the trick to disable htc stuff from installing on my touch HD please contact me!
i am planning a clean wm6.1 with wisbar apps because it is more configurable and not so black . . . . .
thanks in advance from me!
It doesn't install Manila if the customization was stopped as Manila installing during the customization process. I'm talking about Touch Diamond, not Touch HD.

Thanks to Mr. Xiaoqiao & Chnnt at xbeta.
14-for in-call record without any 3d party app you also use the cab posted by mskip (thank you!)

14.1 best IRC solution imho, is the HTC's own program. you can find the program and a few explanations here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3800829&postcount=183
this one should be used only after editing the registry as described in fix 13 or (as i discovered by chance) you can first install mskip's cab (the cab is going to edit the registry for you) and after that install the HTC's app found in the above link.

18-4 columns "Programs" tab (thanks to cerato...again)
Add Registry entries:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
Add New Key "IconConfig"
In there Add DWORD Value:
"HorizontalIconSpacing" Dec value="112"
"VerticalIconSpacing" Dec value="115"
"IconTitleFontSize" Dec value="6"
19-Old start menu, old programs tab with 4 icons plus 4 icon program launcher!!

20-Work around HTC album half screen zoom problem! (thanks you oemie!)
The workaround is found in Flip_it (from the WildBerry Team)
In many roms Flip_it is already cooked in (i am using Miri rom so i had to install myself) so that is easy.
When you set Flip_it to rotate 0 and 270 degrees, and after that choose HTCAlbum.exe and also check 0 and 270 degrees then the problem is solved.
You can dubble tap on a picture in landscape and the picture is zoomed how it should.
I think till a real solution comes, this is the way..
21- Restoring the multiple snooze option in Notification Manager (thanks, biiig thanks to crackwhore and avimak)
21.1-crackwhore elegant solution for letting the graphically chic Notification manager but allowing multiple snooze options in the notification bubble is here (cab file):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3716251&postcount=2280
21.2-avimak's more radical solution for the ones that want to have again the option to get the command manger and volume control by clicking the top task bar:
If you're using Dutty X3 ROM (for sure not only Dutty's) you should have this files:
NotificationLayout.dll
NotificationManager.dll
replace them with text files having the same name. avimak's advice is to use non empty files (type yr name inside, for example) but i can say it worked even with empty files.
22-Change the firsat day of the week in Calandar TouchFlo 3D from Sunday to Monday (thanks to HDuser and to NiGhTTraX!)

please do not post question here! this thread is for fixes (problems solved). if you have a fix. you are invited to post it here or PM me and i'll update the first post.
If you like what i did and you are over 18 go to closest pub and donate yourself a beer or/and kiss yr girl friend/wife!
If you like what i did and you are under age go and play with your friends and forget about your PC and this forum for at least a few hours!
Great initiative, since the rom cookers dont collaborate no more we need such threads for us users, and rom cookers.
I hope this'll open eyes of the ones not sharing and not taking advantage of the bugreports here.

Mh, in some ROMs (Dutty 2.3 XTREME, Davideuck V-3 H.P., etc.) this issue is fixed but I think because of other sources and not a fix.
PS. Great Idea, but we have to add, for which manila, wm version the fix works.

In the first post, you better change the headline "More than 3 lines in SMS." because this is only for the input-field in outlook(!) by threaded layout.
Related to new manila ROMs "3 lines in SMS" imply the new manila SMS layout, which cut messages after some characters (normaly 3 lines).

thank you for yr help, much appreciated but please PM me so we'll keep the thread clean as much is possible.
Must be a sticky in my opinion,
Just wondering if any of you have come across this bug in Duttys V2.3 which I've posted in the thread but I've had no responses.
Maybe you are able to help?
I have restored the Programs Tab and the Old Start Menu. If I enter the Programs Tab the 2 soft keys at the bottom are All Programs & Remove as normal. But if I click on any other Tab, i.e. Weather etc All Programs & Remove remain as the soft keys. A soft reset returns everything to normal i.e. New SMS & Contacts in Home Tab. Only problem is everytime I enter Programs Tab they return to All Programs and Remove and stay this way until I reset again!
EDIT
Another little bug which appears once you have returned to the old start menu and restored the programs tab is if you open any program through the programs tab the start menu is automatically opened along with program??
Any solutions to either of these??
@fallen spartan
please, let's keep this tread for fixes (problems solved) and not starting a [email protected] thread. i am sorry, i do not have a solution since i am using the ROM with the new start and love it this way. the old start has only 7 entries, now we have 15 or more. i do think is an improvement
bluetooth AVRCP (remote control)
What about the bluetooth AVRCP bad egg, it calls the crappy media player everytime I press the buttons on my stereo headset, any fix for that ? just want to have the windows mobile normal AVRCP

No probs. Apologies
Contacts BUG (doesn't read SIM contacts):
(in Manilla 3 ROM Topaz/Rhodium; Davideuck_V-3_HP,OS 5.2.21014,ORIGINAL RHODIUM OEMs,[18-3-09, UPDATED]!!!)
TY for the new version; testing it atm.
1 big issue I ran into:
When I go to Messages, and create a New text message, then under Menu > Add Recipient; I can *only* select from my Contacts & Company Directory; but *not* from my SIM card.
Can anybody else see the contacts on their SIM there, or it's a bug? Personally, I want to keep my contacts only on my SIM, because it makes the flashing easier, and if my phone would break, I would still have all contacts on my SIM...

Many people asked to hide sim contacts in all the roms, in "old" roms too. So, in my rom they are hidden by default and there's ING_HideSIM_V_2_1 too.
Now, you can try a thing(I don't know if it'll work becouse I'm testing WM6.5 now, I'm sorry for this), change this reg key:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
ShowSIM=1
P.S.: I'm sorry becouse I have no time in these days to follow the forum, but I'm busy with my "normal" life too

Thnx! Worked fine on WinMo 6.1
I have a feeling everyone knew this except me... but
If you are getting the double contact suggestion list with writing an SMS, you can disable the WM suggestions with the reg key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Inbox\RecipientAutocomplete]
"MaxSuggestions"=dword:0
Everything works fine for me after that.

Android 2.0.1 Clean \ Glossy Version
Hey Frendz i am back this time use bandwidth wisely
http://www.myxperoid.com/
Even bundled headphones sound great
1 Main speaker working audio working.... {thx to xda members especially drlucky}
2 wifi working
3 Astro new version added(no waiting)
4 Headphones working {thanks to vdelf}
5 keyboard mapped
6 Backlight control working(thanks to vdelf again)
What you need to do with it:
1. Extract android 20100430.7z on your computer.
2. Copy all files and directories to the root of your sd-card. Do not create any directory, just copy them to the blank sd-card.
3.On the X1 open the sd-card and run haret.exe. You will get alot text running across the screen.

Clean version

Android (Xperoid) is allmost at the stage to be stable enough to use day in day out!
Not everything is working, like camera, headphones (or) WiFi, but it doesn't bother me that mutch.
I can call, text and use the internet so i`m fine
The few things i've encountered and tried to solve (most answers came from this topic)
- WiFi
If you want to use WiFi, use the kernel of the previous version (you can't use headphones anymore, but I prefer WiFi above that), also turn on WiFi in Windows Mobile before you hit HaReT.exe
Kernel can be downloaded here:

- GPS
Turn off GPS in Android (Experoid) else you will get pwnd by the phone, becouse it will freeze in like 5-10 minutes.

To send messages, go to your Windows Mobile and change some settings (if you want to know how read this topic, it's in here).
EDIT it's even here!

You will need to change your SMSC to the correct number without the "+" sign and your Android will be able to send SMS. I'm using SEX1 as my WinMo OS, you can change your SMSC by going to Comm Manager >> Settings >> Phone >> Services >> Voice Mail and Text Messages and change the "+" sign to "00". I'm on Maxis Malaysia, so mine would read 0060120000015 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************0060120000015******end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************0060120000015******end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************0060120000015******end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Once that is done, just run haret.exe and you are good to go.
- GPRS Data Connections
If you want to use your data connections from your operator, you need to fill them in manually.

Go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Name Accespoint (I guess it's called like that, I have it in Dutch so I need to translate ) > " Menu Button " > New APN.
Some problems I've ran into that I don't know how to fix:
- Screen never turns off, it just turns black, but it's still on.
- Market fails sometimes, you have internet connection, but market gives you errors
I've encountered more problems but atm I don't remember so they weren't huge fails I guess
I`m not trying to be like "This sucks and that sucks" just trying to help improvement.
I hope I've helped out a bit, btw a tip:
put like a FAQ in the first message, so you don't get 25 posts like "My WiFi aint workin' HELP MEEEH!"
sorry i just copy and pasted it from a reply from falcobredewold

Nice work Sanjay, i lost all hope with Fatsal's lost mobile
is there a way of running this from the Phone memory and not from SD? do you think it will going to enhance the speed?
no u can only run dis from sd card
it is not a complete replacement for wm as u can not use camera , gps , and key mapping is also not proper
Just downloaded the file from Hotfile and it says it does not contain archives...
Am now downloading from Mediafire. will take some time.
Sanjay, thanks for sharing btw !!!
Mediafire one works with unpacking ! Took more than an hour to download :-(
how this could be try the mediafire one
is this the same android system? but just with the updated kernel?
or have you changed/upgraded something in android as well?
Thanks Sanjayecb. It works great. Sound and wifi are both working. It's also quite fast. I think it beats Winmo 6.5.3 at speed.
Downloading it right know
Thnx if it works fine I will make a donation
Appreciate your nice work.
Does this release fix the problem that backlight can't turned off?
so whats the difference with this release than the latest kernel release where speaker and wifi already working
Is there a way to add default android keyboard? I very much prefer it over HTC one that this distro sports.
no difference as such i just helped the dummies.
Do you mean the keyboard? HTC lacks few characters, some of which important - like ` for example. This is why I don't like HTC one
thanks for your hard work:i'm downloading it
but what's the new in it?
no i was talking about the hw keyboard
the keymapping is not proper in android
