Maybe finger trouble on my part.
I have tried to move 100+ files from one directory to another using Cut&Paste.
The destination directory has 200+ files, so Explorer window shows the destination directory window full of files. I cant find a location on the screen where the stylus will bring up a Paste prompt.
If the destination directory only has a few files, ie -10, then there is white empty space to bring up the Paste option.
Any suggestions ?
Click on the bottom right corner where it says "menu". Then click "edit" and then "paste".
Many thanks Orelsi.
Sorted.

Okay, after doing a hard reset, and restoring from sprite- I now have 2 calculators under programs. calulator, and calculator (1). how do i get rid of the second one- they both work btw.
I have the same issue. I took care of it before by navigating to a folder \windows but I cant seem to remember the folder.
If you find it, you will simply see 2 icons, delete the one with the (1) attached to it.
Let me know the directory please, I cant find it and my windows load time is long.
Should be windows\start menu\
I don't have any calculators in the Programs folder - where in the \Windows directory does the shortcut point to?
Just subtract
two
minus
one
equal
One.

yeah, it was there, it makes it easier to find, if you change the sort paramater to type.
I had this problem after doing a sprite back up as well, only my tilt changed the file explorer into the second calculator link. I had no way of getting in to try to fix it because I couldn't access file explorer to change it. I ended up doing a hard reset back to stock settings to get my file explorer back.
I have total commander on my phone and i would like to try some reg tweaks to allow things like ringtones from my memory card, etc. but i dont know exactly how to go about doing it. are there any tutorials i can read, or can someone give me some pointers, i am really lost.
Ps. i have already searched the forum, and i found nothing.
pta
using total commander to change reg is a pain. type \\ at the top and hit enter, you will enter the registry. hope it helps. took me sometime to figure it out.
hope this is helpful
to edit the registry using total commander first open the application and then hit the "\" key on the top right which will then take you to the "main page" of total commander, you will then see a folder list the first of which will read "\\Plugins" double click that or press and hold and select "open" after opening another folder list will appear with 3 folders named "ftp, LAN and registry" then either double click or press and hold and select open on the folder named "registry" and from there on its similar to most other registry editing programs with the 3 folders " HKCR, HKCU and HKLM"
i never really had a problem with accessing the registry. easiest is to just go to the root of your phone...when you open up total commander, go to the first file, and hit left on the direction...it'll move up to the parent directory...keep doing so, til you can't go any further...and you'll see a folder "\\"...click in to that and then the registry folder and you'll get the HKCR, HKCU, and HKLM folders to manipulate the registry.

as a bonus tip;
create a hotlist entry for quick future access
once in the registry select the show menu and then Directory hotlist
and you'll see Add current dir
hope it helps
I have a question about use of total commander. I have installed a program which allows multiple clipboard entries which starts with soft reset via a startup folder shortcut and needs to be "hidden" manually ...is there a command line parameter to add to the startup command to have it "hide" or "minimize" when it starts ?
I some how flipped the contents in my kaiser's file explorer, so everything is in reverse alphabet, and all the folders are on the bottom. This is espesially annoying in the Windows folder, and it starts out at the Z's. Is there any way to fix this, I have no Idea how I did it, but its really bothering me? Thanks.
wow, this is a simple one.in file explorer go to where it says "Name" and keep selecting that out of the drop menu it's alphanumeric for you
Wow, that was easy. I feel like an idiot now. Thanks for the fix.
Why is it that everytime i turn my phone on i have to activate the .exe for the bar to display? is there a way that i can get it permanently installed? Thanks!
move it to the windows startup folder
thanks. that did the trick!
how?
How do I move vistahide.exe to startup?
easy
open file explorer and mark the file. Then go to menu and select the move option. Now navigate to windows/startup folder. Select menu/edit/paste. VOILA
no move optuon
I have an xp
eria x1i and it doesnt seem to have a move option under menu.
:sigh: no copy-paste in iphone, eh?
1. Go to vistahide.exe and press and hold.
2. Select copy
3. go to device > windows > startup
4. press the right soft key and select paste.
5. cry
hmmm
hmm the copy menu didn't pop up when I press and hold enter. The only thing that pops up is the installation screen. The menu button on my x1i doesn't have a move option.

HAHAHAHAHA. Read it again. CLICK and HOLD on the file. A menu pops up that has a copy option on it. Select it.
Then navigate to the /Windows/Startup folder and paste it there.
There is no MOVE option in standard file explorer. It is copy and paste.
copy
I also try clicking and holding on the vistahide.exe file but the copy menu still didn't pop up.
You have the stylus, right?
Now use the sharp end and press it on the file name. Easy, no?
Now wait for a 8 grey small circles that will appear. A drop down menu will appear.
You still have the stylus, no? Your fingers might work, but it's more accurate with a stylus.
Click on copy.
I can't believe were on page 2 on a thread on how to copy-paste
lol, thanks for this. Ive been having this issue with vista guage on my x1i for ages, its good job i know how to paste though already.
thanks guys
haha two pages for such a simple task. Well it still doesn't work for me. When I press and hold on the .exe fie the loading circles appeared but the copy/paste menu didn't pop up. I bought my xperia used so it might be missing some files that prevent the menu from poping up.
Alternatively..

If this really doesn't work for you, then highlight the .exe file, click Menu > Edit.. > Copy
Then navigate to the folder you wish to paste it to, and click Menu > Edit.. > Paste

Also, if you're using enlarged menus, you might have to scroll through the options to find copy and paste, as not all of them can be seen onscreen.

I am sorry but this is a lost cause. I think you are just yanking our chains. (Faking)
If you have been a member here since March and you still REALLY don't know how to COPY and PASTE then you probably should buy a jitterbug.
OMG, you active it everytime you restart phone? so pity
I have the exact same problem. I just got my Xperia back from service repair (cracks, we all know it..) and indeed, the standard menu doesn't pop when the stylus is held onto the .exe file. Also, the copy-option isn't available in the standard menu.
Now, i've copied the .zip-file into the startup folder, but as you'll understand, I still have to unzip AND activate the program averytime my phone is booted up.
EDIT: When the .exe-file is unzipped, select the file and email it to yourself. JUST THE .EXE-FILE!! then, open your mail, save the file, copy it from the saved location and paste it into the startup folder.
It's a bit more work, but worth the trouble
This might sound lousy but I am not being able to edit the names of folders in the TouchWhiz. I am trying to group the apps into folders but the names like Folder 1 and Folder 2 piss me off. I tried looking for the options to rename the folder but couldn't find any.
Can someone assist ?
Open the folder, long press the title bar (-:
Oops. That was easy. Thanks
