You shouldn't update, so why do you need it? The update is sent out by t-mobile I believe.

Its not sent out by T-Mobile it is sent out by Google. Don't update it, read JF's blog, hes going to create a new ROM with the fixes and disable updating completely

i'm on ion rev1, so i'm guessing i wont get it. but i'd be curious to know what's in the fix
Supposedly a security update from google. Build number does change to crc1 though. Haven't heard anything new from people so safe to say its probably just a network/security updatee.
Yeah, I've read up on the update and it's just a security update, no new features. Anyone without the stock cupcake build won't get it.

I updated my sprint HTC hero to 2.1 and after it was done and i played awhile. The first thought that came to me was why didn't just friggin root your phone weeks ago instead of waiting for this crap. please is there any way to go to 1.5? and no my lazy azz didn't back up 1.5. Or can the sprint android 2.1 be rooted yet? HELP
-Dumb Lazy Azz-
Are you saying you used the Sprint RUU?
If so, no you're stuck with it until or unless they figure out how to root it.
there is a subforum for this. it's called hero QUESTIONS and ANSWERS. I'm sorry, but is it really that hard? Sheesh!
It can't be rooted yet. You're stuck for a while
lmao...sorry buddy you've jumped the gun to quick. Its was mentioned million's of time, if you run the ruu from sprint you will never return to root access.Your stuccccccccccccccck unless something happens

Yeah. I messed around with it a little bit myself, which is how I found out.

They are phasing in the updates according to Microsoft... 10% of users in the 1st week
i installed the RUU_Schubert_S_HTC_Europe_4.05.401.02_Radio_5.69.09.29a_22.50.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE
on my US T-Mobile HD& after unlocking it with DFT_XSPL_WP7FG2
How can I go back to the official relase ?
Thanks

Im in the same boat by the looks of it, Im kinda hoping now that they are doing a gradual release of that 10% rather than a 10% block, just a case of waiting and hoping...

so if i already have the touchit 7720 rom, should i expect an update anyway, or no? am i already updated?
Guys I believe you have to have Zune 4.8 - I am not sure though
I had RTM and when I connected to Zune it gave me an HTC UPDATE and everything ran smoothly
After update I just did a reset just to see if HTC had anything especial and now HTC apps won't update or say not available for my country and that rubbish
Also no HTC TAB on MARKET!!!!
Reboot dosen't solve it either

Yeh, you need to be on 4.8, Im on 4.8.2345.0 so no problem there, its just a case of O2 releasing the update to me.

Yeh, from what I've gathered, O2 sends the update out to groups of its users at a time, so I must not be in the 1st group...
Also I have seen the HTC Apps propblem mentioned a couple of times so hopefully for your sake there will be a thread on how to fix it soon
Forced it, thank you so much for the heads up... Currently updating!
i tried forcing it, it still says im up to date with version 7.10 (7720). does having hspl matter at all here?

Fantastic I'm doing it now. You are my favorite person.
EDIT: I can't get recovery to flash.. how'd you do it?
EDIT2: Nevermind, got it. If you're having this problem TURN OFF FAST BOOT in System>Power, itll then boot into recovery.

Each carrier will have different versions to account for different bloat and some system options (tethering,...) But at large they should be the same

There are half a dozen or so of the typical Rogers apps (MyAccount, Ringback, etc.) but they are all uninstallable. That was the first thing I did was to uninstall those apps.

Ya, I was pleasantly surprised that all Rogers apps were uninstallable. Looks like Rogers is listening to their customers and letting us choose which of their apps we want.
I am wondering if anyone has or can make a nandroid backup of the stock Rogers ROM and post it? I missed making a backup
Thank you
