can i replace certain apps with other similar apps on other roms?
like the gallery for example with the album app in hero roms? because with the gallery i cant flip through pictures i have to tap on the arrow
also my activesync does not sync calender...it only does email
and also, i want to change the look of my dailer, do i install a new dialer ?

Ever since flashing JM6, I've had problems with the Messaging app. After syncing Facebook contacts, using either adding a regular account un Settings->Accounts & Sync->Add Account or using the official Facebook app, all contacts properly sync with the photos.
I can confirm this in the Phone/Dialer/Contacts app and all my contacts are properly synced with photos. However, in the Messaging app, all icons are blank/have the head icon.
Anyone else have this issue/know a fix?

Update:
I installed Handcent SMS and it displays the contact pictures properly, synced from Facebook. I don't know what's wrong with my Messaging app. Still the same in Roto-JME.
I tried clearing the cache for the Messaging app but it only cleared the changes I made to the settings. Anyone?

Thanks, I've previously used syncmypix on my first Android phone, however this isn't what I want. There's obviously a problem because it used to work now it doesn't.
I don't want to install another app just to download contact photos, the Facebook app already does it for me. Handcent SMS displays them correctly, and besides, I want the photos to be on a separate contact profile -- "Facebook", I don't want them merged to my Gmail as they constantly change anyway.
The only problem is that the Messaging app doesn't display them anymore, ever since flashing JM6 and still doesn't after flashing Roto-JME.
Did you merge your google contacts with your facebook ones? Usually it will choose the facebook pic by default over the google one but sometimes it will not and you need to edit the contact and tell it to make the facebook part of the contact the primary one. Then it will always choose the FB contact pic and even update as your FB contact changes their profile pic. This is for JM6 for mee too.

By merge do you mean "sync with existing contacts"? Yes if that.
I tried what you said, even setting the Facebook profile as default over the Google one leads to nothing. Still no pic. It's weird because the contacts/phone/dialer has the pictures correctly, and so does Handcent, but not the default Messaging app.
Even the default Messaging app does not having pictures for Google contacts with pictures. Everything is blank.

EDIT : I tried syncmypix, I think it works for me. except the colorize widget has problems with Messaging. Its showing Gray and White
Just like the title says lol. I have MIUI, however, the launcher people widget does not want to show any of my contacts's pic. It shows my contactss's latest facebook pics on the MIUI contact. however, again, not on the launcher pro people widget. Anyone else having this problem, any help will be appreciated.

I have the same issue. It seems that facebook does not allow usage of the photos on third party apps ( launcher pro) I've searched and the only thing I could find was the "syncmypics" workaround.
Facebook images sync in contacts. all looks good. But "people widget" is only showing google-contacts images.
I synced all my pictures to google (pc) , but whenever I sync my phone with facebook, the primary image becomes the facebook one and prevents from showing the image in third party widgets. there must be a solution , since some thrid party apps apparently do get the images.
Something to do with permissions?

So I'm switching from the Galaxy S3 and I want to know is there a way to remove facebook photos from
your gallery without signing out of facebook? I've tried to disable sync and other things but nothing seems to work.
Right now I just logged out of facebook for the moment oh and hopefully there's a way to do it without rooting, want
to enjoy the phone a little while before I root.

Not sure. But in the fb options there's a setting to disable syncing photos contacts and something else. Maybe just disabling sync isn't enough try to find the sync photos and disable that. Best I can do sorry if it doesn't help

Remove Facebook for HTC sense with titanium and your done, not sure what ill effects it has. the share link still works in the gallery
Ive never been a huge fan of the HTC gallery. I have an app called QuickPic and its works great. by far the best gallery app i have used

I have spent a couple of hours now to solve a problem, but I have no ideas anymore.
I let Facebook sync contacts and therefore I get contact photos in my contacts from Facebook (I have no custom contact photos). When I use the stock contacts or phone app, I successfully can see these.
However, when I use a contacts app like for example Rocket Dial (I tried about 5 different ones tho) - I only see 1 or 2 % of these photos. Really most contacts have no photo. When I open a contact that has no photo from within Rocket Dial in order to edit the contact, then of course the contact has it's photo again, because then the stock contacts editor is opened.
Any ideas what I could try or do to get photos back in my contacts in third party contacts apps / dialer?
