See i have The Viva Sum unlocked and i was wondering if i hack/unlock the phone and flash a cooked rom will it still be Sim Unlocked...its a simple question so a yes or no will do but i do appreciate agood understandable answer...thanx in advance
The reason: im late on this
The reason is because i bought a Viva unlocked and flashin a rom practically changes the whole device so i was wondering if it affected the Sim Unlock on the Device.( i have T-Mobile and had the TMo Wing(herald/Atlas))

I recently ordered an unlock code from TMobile UK and have successfully unlocked my phone. The question is whether it remains unlocked forever or will it lock again when I update to a new ROM (official or cooked).
Thanks in advance
or by hard restart
does it remain unlocked after a hard reset?
as far as I know when you ordered a unlock code from T-Mobile then it is a sim unlock number to allow you to use other providers in the phone the CID lock is is still there .Still after a hard reset your unlock from T-moblie you should still be able to use other sim cards from other providers
So basically keep my code safe???
Is that what you are saying? That I will need to unlock again when I update with a new ROM?
If so, I'd better keep a note of the Unlock code!
Thanks to everyone who responded.
Hi,
I was wondering if a G1 locked to T-mobile be unlocked if flashed with a new ROM. Apparently, they could not provide us with an unlock code for the phone. I am not very familiar to the new HTC phones, but older ones (very) under windows mobile as far as I recall, can be unlocked when flashed with a new ROM.
I hope someone can help me regarding this. Thanks!
Nope, afraid not its still sim locked.
aw.. that's disappointing.. well, thanks anyway!
don't be ,just call up T-mobile and get the unlock code for free
Hi, I am going to pay for the olipro diamond unlock, But i am just wondering if after i have unlocked the handset it will be permanantley unlocked?

Hi, yes it will stay unlocked for good . You can however relock it if you wish to do so in future.
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone can help. I flashed my ROM to the latest HTC Sence a couple of days ago hoping it would unlock the network on my phone. I was locked to Three and now have an Optus sim, and after flashing my ROM it won't even read a Three sim.
Is there a way I can unlock my HTC Magic so I can use another network provider?
Thanks heaps,
Sezza
You can call your current provider and ask for an unlock code or you can purchase one. Unlockr.com can get them for you. I think its $20
can anyone answer to this question
if i install new rom to my phone does it unlock network
no, you would just be changing the os, flashing roms wont change if your phone is locked to a specific carrier or not.
you can get unlock code on ebay ~$3
Hi, im experiencing some weird resets when i recieve calls, i reset the note 5 like 3 times and still the same, so i downloaded the NZ rom from Sam Mobile and i was wondering if this phone i bought is sim locked and i flash the new rom i will lose my unlock??
Is there any way to know if my phone is factory unlocked or if its locked whit what company?
Ok I find the question a bit strange but will answer to the best of what I understand. If you want to find out if your phone is unlocked just pop in another sim from any other provider and see if you get service or even if it even attempts to find it. If you get invalid sim msg or something similar you are locked. Also to answer your question to which carrier is it locked, that's obvious as it would be the carrier you are currently using. As far as flashing a rom from a different model note 5, I won't recommend without extensive research as you could brick your phone.

Sorry for my bad English, the phone is already unlocked but idk if was manually unlocked or factory unlocked because im from Bolivia and the Note 5 Says spark(NZ Carrier) and accepts any carrier, the problem is my fear of losing the unlock after the flash is this phone was manually unlocked
