MAC address spoofer/changer - G1 Apps and Games

Is there any way to change the MAC address on this? On my macbook I can do so by:
Sudo ifconfig [interface] lladdr [macaddress]

Doesn't look like ifconfig can do it.
ifconfig tiwlan0 down
ifconfig tiwlan0 hw ether 00:00:00:00:00:01
ifconfig tiwlan0 up
Does not work

You can change MAC with ip command:
ip link set interface down
ip link set interface address 00:11:22:33:44:55
ip link set interface up
But after this I wasn't able to connect to any network.

that's kinda weird. why wouldnt unix commands work under the terminal emulator?
as long as we get the interface name right and a legit address, 'theoretically' shouldn't it work?

set IP address fixed wirelesscard (MDAIII, Blueangel)

Does somebody know if it is possibele to change registry to a fixed ipadress for the wireles card on MDAIII, this because when i'am home i want to use a fied ipadres gateway etc, on work i'm using DHCP, coming back home i have to reenter everything again
Go to Settings/Connections/Network Cards. There is an adapter there called WL*** (or something like that). Click on it and enter IP, subnet, GW and DNS server.

OpenVPN on the Diamond

Dear all
I was wondering if anybody got OpenVPN to run on the D. I am trying to connect to a server at home via GPRS/3G using a tap device (bridging). I was trying version 2.1.0 of the OpenVPN port from ziggurat29. The Installation of the GUI and the openvpn client work fine. The GUI (ovpncmgr) starts up OK and also seems to start a tap device TAP1. When I try to start a VPN client with a config file that I tested on the desktop before (except for different path settings and settings for the managment interface), it takes some time (get the typical GSM noise in my PC's speaker... so there is traffic over the air) and then a new VPN tab is displayed on the GUI. However the connection does not show up in the list of VPN instances. In the VPN tab I cannot get the status of the connection etc. Also, I cannot get any logging to work (no log file is created). On the server side I am not getting anything at all. No packets reach the server.
I am running out of ideas what could be wrong. Could it be the connection via T-Mobile? I am able to ping the server from the D, so I thought this should not be a problem. I also tried different ports (1194 and 443). Same result.
If anybody has a clue what I need to do, I appreciated any help.
Here is my client config file:
client
proto tcp-client
port 443
remote my.openvpnserv.net 443
ns-cert-type server
dev tap
resolv-retry infinite
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
ca "\\Programme\\OpenVPN\\config\\ca.crt"
cert "\\Programme\\OpenVPN\\config\\client4.crt"
key "\\Programme\\OpenVPN\\config\\client4.key"
log "\\Programme\\OpenVPN\\log\\client4.log"
service openvpn_exit_1
management 127.0.0.1 10000
conmgr "MyTMO" 1
comp-lzo
verb 4
Click to collapse
After all the tap interface seems still be available and no IP is configured for it. What is really annoying is that I am not even getting a log file

I'm having exactly the same problem..OpenVPN starts, but it doesn't show any instance...
Hi there.
Do you use OpenVPN client with TF3D active??? I installed it and then I tried to run connection manager. But nothing happend. The manager seems not running. Maybe it's because of the TF3D. Any idea??? Thanks....
Hi,
After many days (and night) trying to make this thing work, I finally managed to make it work.
This is how I setup my server and client:
DSL Box =======> Linksys WRT54G =======> Home PC as server (XP)
Public IP ethernet 192.168.1.1 ethernet 192.168.1.10
Address
Server Script:
proto tcp
port 443
dev tap
dev-node OpenVPN
tls-auth "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\ta.key" 0
ca "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\ca.crt"
cert "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\server.crt"
key "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\server.key"
dh "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\dh1024.pem"
ifconfig-pool-persist ipp.txt
server-bridge 192.168.1.199 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.210 192.168.1.220
push “dhcp-option DNS 192.168.1.1”
keepalive 10 120
comp-lzo
cipher AES-256-CBC
max-clients 10
persist-key
persist-tun
keepalive 10 60
status openvpn-status.log
verb 3
Client script:
client
dev tap
proto tcp
#Here your server's Public address + listening port
remote xxxxxxx.homeip.net 443
nobind
resolv-retry infinite
persist-key
persist-tun
cipher AES-256-CBC
comp-lzo
ca "\\ca.crt"
cert "\\htc1.crt"
key "\\htc1.key"
ping 15
ping-restart 120
verb 0
redirect-gateway
route-method exe
route-delay 2
# This is French SFR proxy
http-proxy 195.115.25.129 8080
http-proxy-option AGENT "Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Diamond/1.37.163.4"
On the server I created a bridge between the ethernet connection (192.168.1.10) and the TAP device that I renamed 'OpenVPN'.
I then manually modified its TCP/IP address with the following:
IP address : 192.168.1.199
Netmask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (the Linksys router)
Primary DNS Server : 192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS : your provider DNS will do.
On the client (Diamond):
After installing the software, certificates and keys I modified the TAP device giving it manually its IP address:
Start>>Parameters>>Connections>>WiFi>>Network Cards
IP Address : 192.168.1.210
Netmask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1
If you have a router you need to forward port 443 to the bridge address (192.168.1.199).
Thats all folks. Hope it works for you too.

Mac filtering

I have the chromecast and if I turn off mac filtering my chromecast works. My question is how do I find out my chromecast mac address so I can add it to my filter list. I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance

1) Get the chromecast IP address (Use the chromecast app on the phone, select your device, scroll down to get the IP)
2) Open command prompt, type "arp -a"
3) Look for the chromecast IP and there is your MAC address to the right
You might have to ping it first before running the arp -a command.

I believe that is only a windows command
Any time I have trouble finding MAC addresses when using MAC filtering, I just check the log on the router for a MAC address repeatedly looking for a connection. And anyone saying that you can let someone dangerous in that way, most likely not AND you'd get the same thing most likely by running the windows command. If they can MAC spoof, I think they can IP spoof too.
In addition, the MAC address is on the Chromecast box and on the unit but I've seen reports that the number on the box is more accurate than the number on the unit for whatever reason.
Enjoy.
I have configured Mac Address filtering on my WiFi router. I have added the MAC address of Chromecast on my router. The chromecast gets connected with the router and my Mobile. Now the problem is whenever I try to cast from my mobile, I don't get any display on the TV. At the same time, other mobiles from the house hold get disconnected from WiFi network.

Chromcast DNS

Hi. I've read around the web that Chromecast uses it's own DNS regardless of what's on the router.
I can't figure out how to block that.
I have a Vodafone Huawei HG658c
I have the passwords for the Admin settings, and can access static route and all that, but no matter what guides I read I can't figure it out.
I'm also using Unblock-us. I have it working on everything but chromecast.
I'd even go as far as letting a trusted member teamview in to get this working. Or I can provide any screenshots of my router page needed.
Post your static routes page.

Ok, you should be able to create static routes to disable Google DNS.
Check your router's home page to see what your LAN address range is. (for example something like 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255, with a mask of 255.255.255.0 would be typical, but yours might be different) You need to pick an address in this range that doesn't exist, e.g., something like 192.168.1.99)
Then enter a static route with:
Destination network address: 8.8.8.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.99 (or whatever non-existent LAN address you picked above)
Probably ok to leave on Interface as Auto, or pick LAN or LAN+wireless if you have to choose.
And repeat for 8.8.4.0.
This only blocks Google DNS. Then you still have to insert your unblock-us DNS addresses in the router's DNS fields.

Ah, so it's an unused address I have to put? I'll give this a go and let you know. Thanks a LOT!!!!!
Doesn't seemed to have worked. I even tried the other Google dns's too (see pic)
Nothing is on .123 so I put the address as that.
Chromecast is static on .125
I have the unblockus dns address in correctly as all other devices work.
I've rebooted everything too to make sure.
Starts playing fine on laptop or phone, but when casted it comes up with "We're having trouble playing this title........"
There's an easy way to tell if it's working. Just ping the Google DNS addresses from your computer, and you should get the response "Destination unreachable" (open a cmd window and type "ping 8.8.8.8").
When you say "Chromecast is static on .125", I'm not sure what you mean. You can't assign the Chromecast a static IP address, and if you could this wouldn't work because it has to fetch your DNS addresses using DHCP.

I am actually getting a ping back (see pic)
What I meant was I reserved the ip address 192.168.1.125 for the chromecast

In the drop down box I found the LAN option, works perfectly now. Thanks so much for your help. Genuinely appreciate it!
I guess the default "Auto" static route selection on your router isn't smart enough to recognize a LAN address, but as long as it's working now, you should be all set.
