I need help...

I have the latest spl and 1.2 recovery.img but its not letting me flash any roms... I have updated the radio to the latest radio also... i have partitioned my sd sucessfully but nothing is working Im getting an error that reads
E: Cant open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
installation aborted.
what do I need to do? I have had a hero/rosie build on this phone before But was trying to finish my apps2sd and partition and this keeps happening...

It is possible that you may have a bad update file on your sd card. I have had this error a few times in the past. Try to download the ROM again make sure to give enough time for the file to copy to your sd card and then rename update.zip and try again. Good luck

is your sdcard partitioned in fat32?

Help! No longer able to flash a hero rom!?

Hi everyone, so after I flashed to cyan's latest 4.1.9999, I can no longer flash a hero rom. During the update process of MLIGN's 2.5.7, KingKlick's 1.9, and MghtyRed's 1.9.1, i get this error or something very similar to it during the update. This is towards the end of it when it is Formatting system and copying files.
E: Can't chown/mod /system/xbin (No such file or directory) E: Failure at Line 77: set_perm_recursivce 0 2000 0755 0 6755 SYSTEM:xbin
Installation aborted.
Can someone please help. I don't know what happend. I even went back to both my cyan404 back up from bart restore and my cyan41999 back up from bart restore and used both hard and danger spl's and got same errors. Thanks!
BTW: I did wipe, wipe ext, repair ext, wipe and then updated. I even wiped dalvik-cache after ext wipe before as well. So i know how to wipe etc and haven't had problems with updating to hero's before in the past. Not sure what the deal is now...

Sounds like a SPL problem to me. Update to Haykuro's Death SPL and try it again.

Are you sure the danger spl flashed properly?

Have you tried re-downloading the roms you are trying to flash? A bad dl (though unlikely with 4 different roms) could casue problems. Might have just had bad connection when you grabbed them.
Can you install other non-Hero roms from update rather than restore?
If all else fails whip out dreamimg.nbh and start over.

I recently tried to flash the sensehero 1.4 and here is what I did, I first wiped everything in recovery, then partitioned the card, ext2 to 3, ext 3 to 4, then connected to my pc, put the rom on my root of my card, then back to recovery, i wiped again, then flashed and, it gets to coping files and this is what it says:
E: cant symlink/system/bin/netstat
E:failure at line 30:
systemlink toolbox system: bin/netstat

Well, one piece of information that could fix this whole problem is the spl. What spl do you have?

I'm useing spl 1.33.2005 , I think it is danger spl.

I think that rom supports ext4 but if it was me, I would try re-partitioning and stopping at ext3. Just a thought. Also I would check the md5 check sum for the download or just re-download. Good luck.

[Q] HELP! Can't boot into recovery, can't re-flash CWR

I desperately need help right now :-(
I am running CM7 RC2. This morning, I decided to flash into RC4. But I found that I couldn't boot into recovery any more. Tried holding Power + X, but it stuck at the big white "M", then after a minute or so, it automatically rebooted into CM7 RC2. I also tried reboot into recovery from ROM Manager and it acted the same way. I figured I should reflash CWR. But re-flashing 2.5.0.1 didn't help neither. Next, I tried flashing to the alternative recovery (then flashed back to CWR), but I got an error saying there's an error when flashing. So, I tried flashing other version of CWR. Again, no luck, got an error on every version, except for the one I am using. My last attempt was to flash manually, by following the instruction at:

I copied the files to my sdcard and tried flashing from Terminal Emulator. I followed every step and SU was granted successfully, but whenever I tried to flash the recovery, I got an error like this:
mtd: read error at 0x00000000 (Out of memory)
... [snip] ...
mtd: write error at 0x00440000 (Out of memory)
... [snip] ...
error writing recovery: No space left on device
Thinking that might be an memory problem, I tried to kill as many running services as possible and moved almost every apps I have to the SD card. With 78 free RAM and 148Mb Internal Memory, I tried the manual flashing again. It failed and I got the same Out-of-Memory error.
FYI, I also tried Fixing Permission and redid everything listed above, but it made no difference.
What should I do now? I've tried everything I could think of. If I couldn't reboot into recovery, I will have to stick with RC2 forever :-(

Well I have no clue about the droid but if it was me, I'd just put a stock sbf on there and start fresh.

[Q] ROMs not installing with my MicroSD card...

So I tried to install 2 roms with my MicroSD card (LewaOS and MokeeOS) but both failed. Roms used toget successfully installed before... Then I tried flashing a rom with another MicroSD and it worked!!
What could be wrong with my SD?
It keeps saying Can't open E:/xxxxxxxx.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Should I format my MicroSD??

Backup your data, format the memory card and try again.
If it still doesn't work check the md5 sum of the files you downloaded to make sure that they are not corrupted or anything.

THanks for your tip! It worked wen I flashed Zeus. I don't think it's a corrupted file since I could open the .zip.
But it may be a md5 sum error, or the Rom's Recovery idk.
