Yesterday my Kaiser stopped to recognize sender name in incoming sms, shows only number even for people that I had in contacts. Any help?

Hi,
I just flashed another ROM onto my device, and restored the call history and SMS message box with PPCPimBackup. Ever since, the mail count (not the SMS count, the mail count) in my Touch Flow 3D interface says I have one unread message.
I defined no mailboxes yet, and it still says one unread message. If I define mailboxes and send myself email, I have 2 unread messages instead of the actual 1 unread message.
Is there a way to reset the unread mail count in the Touch Flow 3D interface?
Thanx
I had this. Only way was to delete the email account and readd it.
I tried this, but that did not work (even crashed Manilla ).
However, when deleting the mail account, it switched to my Outlook mail account which I don't use. But right there, there was this "Welcome to Pocket PC Outlook!" message. That was the message showing up as unread!
So thank you for the tip, it indirectly lead me to the solution
Hi all!
I was wondering if there is a way to force the SMS application to requery the Number->Contact relationship.
I have a number of text messages which only show the phone number but not the contact name even though there is such a contact in my address book.
I tried doing it by deleting all texts and restoring a backup from PIM backup but no luck...
Many Thanks!

In WM6.1, mine get fixed if I receive a new text from an updated contact. I still have some with Last, First because I haven't received anything from them.
Thanks
I just upgraded to 6.1, so lets see what happens!
I just received a text from one of the "problematic" contacts, but no luck.
The new text does show his name, but none of the older ones got updated...
Edit: The annoying thing is that the problem exists only in the lists view. If I open the text, the contact details show up fine...
My HTC Touch Viva keeps displaying me the error message "Failed to send message" while I try to send a simple SMS...it only happens with only one mobile phone number... I can send SMS to all the others contacts without problems!
I can resolve this problem deleting the conversation with this number and creating the new message: only in this the message is sent.
Is there anyone with a solution?
I had same problem with my friend's number. My SMS did not go when I replied to his SMS.
You just make a new SMS and send it to your friend.
You may remove his contact information and create a new contact to him. I guess this problem will be solved then.
Hi all
I got a Touch Viva recently and been enjoying it a lot. I had noticed a problem with the messaging app. Actually there are a total of 4 SMS messages for me. If i go through the SMS inbox via the start menu, it is showing only 1 message. But where as the touch flo interface is showing all the 4 messages. I suspect the windows app is showing only the messages stored in the phone but not in the SIM. My question here is , can this behaviour be corrected to display all the messages?
And also is there any way that the phone shows a different message icons for the sms stored in the SIM and the in the phone? Like a small sim image over the envelope icon.....
can anybody please answer my questions?
Thank you.
Has threaded sms view enabled??
Do you have the threaded sms enabled?
If so, if you received the all 4 sms from same person it will show as a thread.. open the thread it will show full conversations..
yea buddy if the msgs from the same person they all show in one conversation ... i like it this way better than million msgs hehe
Is windows able to handle msgs in the SIM? if not, thats probably it, touchFLO shows all the msgs while Windows only shows msgs in the device
Hi,
When I try to send a Whatsapp message via Google assistant ("send whatsapp message to xy <message>"), in the confirmation screen it only shows "To: <number>" / "<message>", not "To: xy".
Is that normal?
I'm afraid of sending a message to the wrong person because of Google misunderstanding me and me not recognizing the wrong number.
Thanks!
