All I know is how to share my LAN internet connection from a wifi laptop so that my XDA IIi could use its internet connection through the built in wifi. I don't know how to transfer files or stream videos from my laptop through my XDA IIi wifi, though. Can anyone help?
HI all,
Is it posible to make a fake gprs connection with your ppc. Some programs work only with gprs (AT&T Apps: XM-Radio, MobiTV), even when wireless is on or the pc is connected with your device it still only works with gprs. So is it posible to lett XM-Radio or MobiTV think he's using gprs while he realy is using wifi or connected to pc.
Some1?
It has to be a app i think.
xm-radio? over gprs? s there enough bandwidth there for listenable sound quality?
The sirius player does work on edge. /shrug
Yeah XM Radio works fine.
Havn't tried the other. But I want these programms to also work when plugged on my computer or using wifi.
Is it possible to use the Kaiser as wlan-router? I got a cablemodem for my computer. Now when I connect Kaiser via USB I can use the connection.
Can I share this connection via wifi of the Kaiser? (wifi is not available when connected to usb!)
Look for WMWIFIROUTER
Thanks a lot, thats it!
I heard of the prog brefore, but didnĀ“t that it has so many features.
I purchased Walking Wifi Hotspot. Works good and has all the features that you could need.

So those allow you to use your phone as a wireless bridge with your PC? I thought it only used the cell data connection.
Hi everybody
I Have ADSL connection on my pc and i want to share it through WIFI on my
VIVA and connect my laptop to intenet using WIFI.
In the other hand, i want to connect my VIVA to PC, then connect my laptop
to VIVA using WIFI and use my PC's internet connection.
Is that possible?
I have never tried if it works the way youre asking for, but there is indeed a setting for connection sharing on the viva.
Just give it a try and post if it works

I have LAN cable connection on my laptop. It has wifi and bluetooth module. Is there any way to get an internet connection on my Nexus by using them? My laptop runs Vista.
Thx
if i understand correctly, you want to share the internet on your laptop with your nexus.
You need to configure your wifi on the laptop as accesspoint and connect the nexus with it.
Google internet sharing wifi
you can just turn on network sharing on your laptop... google is your friend here if you need specifics.
Is there any way to do this without a Wireless network card? Since I'm on the other side of the house and get intermittent signal with my N1's wifi. Can it be done using the USB cable? aka reverse tethering?
I don't think android supports this "reverse tethering". Actually I think only WinMo phones support it via Activsync, which is automatic as soon as you plug in your USB.

Is there a way set up a non-ad hoc network on the laptop because the N1 is not compatible with ad hoc networks?
Although you can set up a software AP on your laptop, consider buying a WiFi access point. That way your laptop won't have to be plugged in either And its way easier to setup.
If you are using Windows 7 on your laptop, you can use Connectify (url is connectify.me) to convert your laptop into a wifi hotspot, which you can then connect your N1 to (via wifi)

What about for windows XP? is there an application similar to conectify.
Also just to let you guys know stock android does not let you connect to ad-hoc network sharing like some mentioned earlier. The devices does not see ad-hoc networks.
There is a issue request here about it.

...I'm more comfortable with xp so I'm doomed not to be able to set up an AP with my laptop...
I've been all over this connection and sharing internet connetion thing these days, and today it seems so close to work:
I paired my N7 and laptop on bluetooth, laptop with IVT driver, and N7 clearly shows in bluetooth - paired devices - profiles, under internet access, "connected to device for internet access".
yet all apps on N7 still say no connection.
god somebody pls help me!! It just doesn't make any sense!
btw, I did tick the option of "internet access sharing" and selected the bluetooth network in the settings of the internet accessing connection on my laptop.
I just don't understand whatever went wrong...

Yes, but it's not free. There is a free trial though if you want to make sure it works with your setup.
